Over the weekend, Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri admitted that 'Amazing' midfielder N'Golo Kante 'could leave' the club this summer, and with Liverpool seemingly in the market for a dedicated defensive midfielder, should Jurgen Klopp target Kante this summer?
When asked about Kante's future on Saturday, Ranieri told The Guardian:
"There is a chance he could leave...if big teams give us a lot of money. If he's not happy here and wants to go. I don't want sad people here - I want my players to be happy."
£20m-rated Kante - who, according to Rio Ferdinand is 'the best tackler/retriever of the ball on the planet' - seems open to a move:
"I will fight for Leicester this season and next season we never know and we will see. I don't mind about the [transfer speculation from] other clubs"
I conducted a site poll asking fans whether Liverpool should try and sign Kante. The results:
Kante seems tailor-made for Jurgen Klopp's style of football, but if Leicester win the league, and Liverpool fail to qualify for the Champions League, it's hard to see why would want he'd want to sign for the Reds. Plus, after such a great season, there will probably be a whole host of Champions League clubs lining up to sign Kante.
