Anfield Shocker? Liverpool legend makes worrying Sturridge 'injury' claim; insists he's 'not moving right'

Is Daniel Sturridge playing through the pain barrier? The striker's decreased mobility/speed is glaringly evident in recent performances, and Reds legend Jamie Carragher believes that Sturridge may be carrying an injury niggle.

Speaking to Sky Sports^ after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Spurs, Carra explained:

"Sturridge looks like he’s carrying an injury. he’s great to watch when he’s in full flow, but he’s not moving right".

After being ravaged by injury, Sturridge appears to have lost some pace, but is this a mental issue (i.e. being overly cautious about going full-tilt), or is he hiding an injury issue?

By all accounts, Sturridge won't play unless he feels 100% fit (Steven Gerrard confirmed as much in his recent autobiography), so it's unlikely he'll play whilst he's actually injured, especially with Euro 2016 just around the corner.

Assessing the Spurs game alongside Carra, ex-Red Jamie Redknapp^ delivered a far more scathing assessment of Sturridge:

"I want to see a lot more from Sturridge. He’s not done a thing in terms of work rate and helping his team. He’s got to do a awful lot more".

To be honest, I couldn't care less if Sturridge doesn't press like a madman or run 20 miles a game; his job is to score and create goals, and for the most part, he does that. Granted, Sturridge is not at his best, but since returning from injury, he's still contributed 5 goals/assists in 9 appearances (One every 136 mins).

Despite Redknapp's claims, Sturridge has grabbed two goals/assists in his last two games, and with him on the pitch, Liverpool (statistically) have a much better chance of scoring goals. The headless chickenry should be left to the likes of Milner, Can, and Divock 'Kick and Rush' Origi.

Will Sturridge remain fit until the end of the season?
