Liverpool reportedly remain interested in signing Paris St. Germain star Lucas Moura, and recent reports claim that the Reds are actively scouting the £30m-rated attacker. Luckily, though, it seems that the goal-shy Brazilian is not interested in a move to the Premier League
When asked today about the possibility of a move to Liverpool, Moura told Canal+:
"My dream is to stay my whole career at Paris St. German, win many titles, and then move back to Sao Paulo".
For me, this is great news. Moura plays for one of Europe's biggest clubs, so he's experienced the pressure that comes with relentless expectation, but his stats are comparatively average:
* 23 goals/37 assists (60) in 158 apps (Goal every 410 mins. G/a every 188 mins)
* Never scored more than 8 league goals in one season.
If Moura struggles to consistently score in French football - which is far less competitive than the Premier League - then it's unlikely that he'll do any better in England.
As for Ligue One - to be honest, it's a bit of a joke league, with one team (PSG) running away with the title every year. For example, this season, PSG won the title with two months of the season still remaining, and are currently 22 points ahead of second-placed Monaco.
If Moura - hailed by Laurent Blanc as a 'wonderful player' - can't score more than one goal every 410 minutes in a team that's utterly dominant in every way, then he's clearly not worth £30m.
