Massive Boost: Liverpool free to sign 'exceptional' €20m 'beast' after transfer decision made in Spain

Earlier this month, TalkSport claimed that Liverpool are one of five clubs chasing Valencia star Sofiane Feghouli, and new developments today suggest that the Reds now have an increased chance of signing the Algerian attacker this summer.

According to Spanish magazine Don Balon:

* Valencia have taken a 'final decision' on Feghouli, and will sell this summer due to his (alleged) 'high economic demands'.

* Liverpool and Manchester United both remain interested in bringing Feghouli to the Premier League.

Some info about Feghouli:

* 26-year old right-winger, whose current contract expires in June 2016. Release clause: €20m.

* 31 goals/40 assists in 198 apps for Valencia (Goal every 416 mins. Goal/assist every 181 mins).

* 5 injuries since the 2013/14 season (91 days out/16 games missed).

* Dec 2015: Voted "Best African Player in La Liga' by Liga de Fútbol Profesional (LFP).

* Often nicknamed the 'New Zidane'.

* Arsene Wenger's assessment: "Feghouli is physical beast with great technical qualities. When you see what he does on the field, he is exceptional. We're all looking for players of his quality"

Thanks, but no thanks. Having watched Feghouli play many times, he's clearly an exciting player, but his end product is not good enough.

One goal every 416 minutes is poor, and Liverpool already have enough attacking midfielders who fail to score on a consistent basis.
