Last year, Liverpool were heavily linked with a move for West Brom striker Saido Berahino (who was allegedly desperate for a move to Anfield), and with Jurgen Klopp also reportedly keen on Berahino, Jamie Redknapp has tipped the 'brilliant' striker to move on to a bigger club this summer.
In January, Sky Sports claimed:
"Liverpool have entered the race to sign Saido Berahino and [Jurgen Klopp] could make a late swoop for the Baggies frontman".
In his column for Sky Sports today, Redknapp hailed Berahino's 'magnificent' performances for West Brom, and tipped the 22-year old to 'go right to the top'. He enthused:
"I see a 22-year-old with so much ability, the way he moves with the ball, low centre of gravity, he can see a pass and score a goal. I would be amazed if he is a West Brom player next year".
With Daniel Sturridge's ongoing injury problems, a new striker who fits Liverpool's style of play is an absolute necessity, and Berahino appears to be a better fit for LFC than Christian Benteke.
If things had gone differently, Liverpool might've signed Berahino instead of Benteke, and Liverpool fans would've been fine with that. Indeed, a recent site poll emphatically illustrated the fan preference for Berahino:

The problem is, West Brom reportedly want £30m for Berahino, which is a ridiculous figure, and it makes little sense to spend that kind of money on a striker with worse stats (over the last three years) than Benteke.
Benteke is increasingly maligned by the Liverpool fanbase, but despite a stop-start debut season (averaged only 61 mins of playing time per game), the Belgian is still outperforming Berahino this year:
* Benteke: 7 goals/5 assists (12) in 31 apps (one ever 158 mins).
* Berahino: 7 goals/0 assists in 26 appearances (One every 200 mins).
Should Berahino be a transfer target this summer?
