Transfer Update: Liverpool chase 'explosive' attacker who broke legend's goal record. Talks held already

Despite the utter failure of any non-British attacker to *ever* make it through the academy and become a first-team regular, Liverpool are reportedly tracking yet another teenage attacking prospect.

According to The Daily Express:

"Liverpool have sent scouts to watch Monaco teenager Kylian Mbappe, who is yet to sign a professional contract at the club".

This follows a reports in January, which claimed that Liverpool were in 'active negotiations' with Monaco with a view to reaching a transfer agreement.

Some info about Mbappe:

* Graduate of France's Clarefontaine academy.

* Coach Jean-Claude Lafargue's assessment: "He's [Mbappe] is a wide forward, who can dribble well and cause panic in the final third. He is an explosive player who can pick passes that others won't necessarily see."

* According to Mbappe's father: "Kylian is crazy [about football]. He almost puts me off it because he's always into it 24/7. He watches everything; he can watch four or five matches in a row."

* 2012: Personally invited by Zinédine Zidane to a summer training camp at Real Madrid.

* Feb 2016: Broke Thierry Henry’s 21-year record to become Monaco's youngest-ever scorer.

* Feb 2016: When asked about Mbappe, Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim told UEFA.com: "Kylian has great potential but he still has a lot of work to do before reaching the top."

* Feb 2016: When asked about his strengths, Mbappe told UEFA.com: "I likes dribbling, but I think I can still develop my game. My main quality is my speed. I still have problems with defending and I need to be more consistent".

Meh.
