Bad News for LFC: Klopp confirms injury 'scan' for 'outstanding' Liverpool midfielder. Season-killer?

Liverpool's injury curse strikes again! Just when it looked like the Reds were finally moving towards the light, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that another player is (potentially) facing a long spell on the sidelines.

On Tuesday evening, Klopp told reporters:

"We lost Kevin Stewart in training. He blocked a shot and his ankle was a bit bruised so we have sent him for a scan.

"We think it’s the ligament. He trained outstandingly and then this happened. It's not too good".

Klopp recalled Stewart from his loan spell during the January transfer window, and after several impressive performances, it looks like his season may be over.

It's a huge blow for Stewart, but the bigger problem is what happens when he returns.

With Marko Grujic arriving in the summer, and Klopp reportedly looking to sign yet another central midfielder, competition for places will be even more intense next season.

Will there still be a place in the squad for Stewart when he returns?

Stewart is 23 this year, and he needs to be playing regular football, and I can't see that happening in the long-term at Anfield.
