Top Transfer? 49% of Liverpool fans reject plan to sign 'extraordinary' £15m star [local poll]

Last week, multiple reports claimed that Jurgen Klopp is desperate to bring £15m-rated Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic to Anfield, but what do Reds fans think about the possibility the regularly injured Serbian signing for Liverpool?

On the 9th of January, The Mirror claimed:

"Jurgen Klopp is in talks with Borussia Dortmund over a Neven Subotic loan. Klopp hopes to bring in an experienced centre half...but negotiations [for Subotic] are stuck".

Subotic - hailed by Klopp for his 'extraordinary' BVB performances - reportedly wants to follow Klopp to Anfield.

That's all well and good, but with 12 injuries in the last four seasons (plus a persistent back problem this season) signing Subotic is, in my view, tantamount to managerial negligence.

It appears that many Reds fans feel the same. I conduced a poll last week asking if Liverpool should sign Subotic. The results:

Whilst it's true that a slim majority of fans approve of the transfer, 49% are against it, which says a lot about the overall level of confidence in this particular deal. It all appears to be moot anyway, as Dortmund are resistant to selling. On Sunday, The Mirror claimed:

"Dortmund have told the Reds that don’t want to lose Subotic - and that it would take a significant bid to alter their stance".

In my view, this is very good news, and could turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Don't get me wrong: Subotic is a quality player, but what's the point if he's regularly injured (which he probably will be in the Premier League).

Subotic = panic buy and/or comfort buy for the manager.
