Bad News: 'Outstanding' £10m Liverpool star on crutches after surprise surgery. Emergency Transfer needed?

When it comes to injuries, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp just can't catch a break! With Daniel Sturridge perennially injured, £10m signing Divock Origi is the new crock on the block, and like Sturridge, he has somehow contrived to sustain yet another injury during his existing recovery period.

According to The Guardian:

"Origi has had surgery on a knee problem that will sideline the Belgium international [until] late February".

The Daily Express added:

"[Origi] is on crutches having returned to Belgium to undergo an operation".

Prior to his injury, Origi - an 'outstanding' player according to Belgium captain Vincent Kompany - struggled to have a consistent impact on the team.

In the five games before the ill-fated hamstring issue, he contributed just one goal in five games, with Liverpool failing to win four of those five matches.

As such, it's fair to say that Liverpool haven't really missed Origi, through the (comparatively minimal) impact of his absence is exacerbated by the club's ongoing injury crisis.

On one level, Origi's injury may be a blessing in disguise as it may force Jurgen Klopp to sign a much-needed striker.

Liverpool surely cannot go into the next 2-3 months of the season with only Benteke, Sinclair, and the underperforming Firmino as the club's main striker options...?
