Confirmed: Klopp had secret '15-minute chat' with €6m powerhouse; 'Liverpool interested' in transfer

The January transfer window is fast approaching, and Liverpool fans are waiting with bated breath to see if Jurgen Klopp will bring any new players to the club. Since arriving at Anfield, Liverpool have been linked with dozens of players, and it appears that Klopp has his eye on one of Rubin Kazan's midfielders.

On Thursday, Artur Petrosyan - editor-in-chief of Russian newspaper Sport-Express - claimed:

"Liverpool are interested in Magomed Ozdoyev. Klopp had a 15-min chat with [him] in Kazan. Ozdoev's buyout clause is €6m. He's quick, good at pressing, tackling, counter attacking, key passing. Discipline needs to improve though".

Some info about Ozdoev:

* 23 year old midfielder who often plays as a DM for Rubin Kazan. Current contract expires: 2019

* 11 goals in 58 apps for Kazan (1 Every 445 minutes). 6 apps for the Russia national team.

* Injury free since July 2013. Prior to that, missed only 3 games due to injury issues.

This is arguably the most credible transfer rumour since Klopp took over at Anfield.

Liverpool are constantly linked with big-money moves for international stars, but that doesn't fit with Klopp's (historical) approach to transfers.

Klopp's usual MO is to make superstars out of the club's youth players and/or sign players for pennies and turn them into world-beaters.

Indeed, looking at his transfer history, Klopp signed Hummels, Gundogan, Lewandowski, and Kagawa for a combined total of €12m. Just think about that in the context of the money wasted by Liverpool over the last five years.

With that history in mind, I feel 100% confident that Klopp will do well in the transfer market, and if LFC's boss signs Ozdoyev, perhaps he'll turn him into a world-beater, too.
