'I Love Klopp': World-Class playmaker admits he'd be 'excited' to play for Liverpool under new boss

Much to the delight of fans and (I'm sure) players, 'world-class' Reds legend Steven Gerrard is back at Liverpool right now, and one thing is clear: he loves working under Jurgen Klopp.

Gerrard - reportedly on £75k-a-week at LA Galaxy - is training at Melwood during his hiatus from LA Galaxy, and when asked this week about his experience under Klopp's tutelage, the former Reds captain raved over the 'brilliant' atmosphere at the club, and urged the players to take advantage of the fantastic opportunity to work under such a great manager. He explained:

"I love him [Klopp]. If I was a player at Liverpool [now] I'd be licking my lips. The players should be excited. Imagine being 25 or 26 and how happy and excited I would be to be working with him.

"The players should be realising what an opportunity they have to achieve success. If the players are not feeling it then there's something wrong".

Klopp may be a great man-manager, but he couldn't inspire the team to win any of the last three games (two draws; one defeat), and in all three games, Liverpool were distinctly uninspired, both offensively and (at times) defensively.

In many cases, results often improve upon the appointment of a new manager (especially during the season), and Liverpool have arguably experienced the 'new manager boost' with Klopp. The last three games suggests that this effect is now wearing off, and it'll be interesting to see how the Reds perform now that the honeymoon is over.

Granted, it's not Klopp's team yet, but he has a squad full of expensive, top-class players at his disposal, and given his history, mystique, and hype, he should be able to get more out of these players than Rodgers...right?

As for Gerrard: Even at the age of 35, I'd take him in the team over Lallana.
