Liverpool Boost: Great news for Klopp as injured £49m-trio return to training. Surprise start for Sturridge?

After a season filled with regular injury setbacks, Jurgen Klopp finally has some good news this week as three of the club's key players are now back in training ahead of this weekend's tasty encounter with Manchester City.

According to The Guardian on Monday:

"James Milner and Jordon Ibe participated in full training on Monday. Both will be monitored by Liverpool’s medical staff this week for any bad reaction...but are in contention to face City. [Daniel] Sturridge has also returned to light training".

Klopp recently claimed that Milner - whose contract is reportedly worth £31m over 4 years (£150k-a-week) - is a 'complete' midfielder, so it seems a cast-iron certainty that the England man will go straight back into the starting line-up.

Milner is an incredibly robust footballer, and he's missed only 8 games through injury throughout his entire career. As such, there's probably no risk in bringing him straight back into the team.

With Ibe, however, there's no point rushing him back, and given his recent injury problems, it's best to take the softly-softly approach.

As for £18m-rated Sturridge - forget about it! Even if he's somehow magically fit for Saturday's game (and doesn't tear a ligament before the game whilst lacing up his boots), he should (IMO) be used as impact sub only.

Klopp's probable team with Milner returning:

----------- Mignolet
Clyne -- Skrtel - Lovren -- Moreno
--- Milner -- Lucas --- Can
------ Firmino - Coutino
----------- Benteke
