With only one defeat in fifteen games, things are coming together for Liverpool at exactly the right time, and with Chelsea to come on Tuesday, a good victory over Bolton on Saturday is essential to maintain consistency and confidence.
A few points:
* On Tuesday, Brendan Rodgers played his strongest available team against Chelsea, and it'll be interesting to see if he does the same against Bolton.
* Given their lower-league status, it seems likely that the manager will 'rest' several players, including Gerrard, Sterling, and possibly one of the central defenders, with the likes of Lallana, Lovren, Borini, and Balotelli coming back into the fold.
* Gerrard, in particular, doesn't need to play the Bolton game; Liverpool can manage without him, and if - as expected - Rodgers starts him against Chelsea, it'll be better if he's full rested.
* Emre Can looked defensively suspect against Chelsea, so I'd like to see Lovren come into the back three. He is, after all, a dedicated central defender, and irrespective of his indifferent form so far, he is superior to Can in that position.
* After being dropped for the Chelsea game, Borini deserves a start against Bolton. He can come in for Sterling, who can rest-up on the bench, and only enter the game as a last resort. That said, if he scores against Bolton, Rodgers will inevitably drop him again, so perhaps it's better if he just stays on the bench (!)
I'd like to see the following team:
-------------------- Mignolet
---------- Lovren -- Skrtel ----- Sakho
---- Manquillo - Hendo - Can ---- Markovic
-------------- Lallana - Balotelli
-------------------- Borini
* Rested (Not in the squad): Gerrard and Lucas.
* Rested (On the bench): Sterling, Coutinho, Moreno.
That team is more than good enough to get a result against Bolton, but if it's not working, there are options on the bench to come on and make a difference.
Perhaps there's even a chance that Rodgers may spring a surprise and start either Jordan Rossiter or 'unplayable' winger Jordon Ibe?
My prediction: 4-1 to Liverpool

Sadly there's no chance of Jordon Ibe getting an appearance tomorrow. Unless I and the official Liverpool website are very much mistaken, he's cup tied.
ReplyDeleteWith that line-up, we will be vulnerable on the left flank.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations - England. World Champion 2018 & 2022.
ReplyDeleteI don't know the FA rule?
ReplyDeleteIf a player is eligible to play in the league but not in cup games.
I don't know if that was the case in the past.
Jordan IBE was even not on the bench for the Chelsea game.
Sign him TODAY - WOW
ReplyDeletefrom some one who thinks he knows everything about liverpool fc and football in general mr never wrong Jamie puts IBE in a team with the title of the article obviously aimed at IBE and he is cup tied ??????? nice writing once again NOT
ReplyDeleteGive Shey ojo a go!
ReplyDeleteCan looked suspect once against Chelsea. That is something Lovren would love. Just tje once. He does need some games but his lack of ability on the ball would nullify that position. The only one of the three I think he could play is the centre as it is a much more basic form of defending but Lovren is nowhere near as good in the air as Skrtel and he hasn't once looked as good as Can.
ReplyDeleteBrendan said Rossiter will play some part but Ibe is cup tied.
ReplyDeleteWhen he was at Derby he played in both cups so he is cup tied.
ReplyDeleteDon't agree with majority of this article. Ibe is cup tied, can was magnificent and handled Costa and hazard easily apart from the penalty incident which was dubious. He's far superior on the ball than lovren and we're operating far better as a defensive and attacking unit without lovren.
ReplyDeleteLovren, ballotelli and possibly Manquillo to date look like being the only dodgy signings from the summer. Others that you were criticising weekly are coming good. Also notice the clueless Rodgers haters have gone quiet.
The fact that we are allegedly linked with players like Dybala, Berahino, and Lacazette represents an equal amount of excitement and potential frustration. How many times have we heard the same old story of fans dismissing an expensive younger player as a flop? Henderson, Markovic, just to name two, have very recently felt the ill-informed bitterness of expectation. Some will say that a 'great' club like Liverpool deserves the 'best', and while yes our players should be aiming high, ought they to be lambasted with only a few months under their belts? Do exorbitant fees determine instant success? Of course not. While Dybala is not worth that much, the reality is, that if we want to sign players like him, Lacazette and the like we have to be able to compete financially, or otherwise develop the nous to spot players early and get them before they set the world alight. If we cannot compete on a regular basis with the seasoned money chuckers, then our scouting has to improve to being in talents under the radar.
ReplyDeleteStop judging people.
ReplyDeleteBR out.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Flanagan fit yet? I'd play one of the U18's ahead of Manquillo. He was shocking against Wimbledon. Sure he put in a cross that Gerrard headed in but defensively he was a disaster.Bolton have some pretty decent players and with Gudjohnson up front they have someone who is always likely to score. If there is one thing we should not do it is to understimate Bolton. I'd go for: Mignolet;Lovren Skrtel Sakho; Gerrard Henderson Can Moreno; Markovic Sterling Lallana.
ReplyDeleteWe still do..
ReplyDeleteZamperini has reputation for talking up his players like this. He did the same with that guy who ended up going to Juventus. Da Mauro? Da Mauri? Whatever happened to him? I think he went to Juventus anyway. The way I see it, we can pay 42 million (hahaha) for this guy, 10 goals in 18 games or for Lacazette 20 in 21. I know what I would do.
ReplyDeleteWin at Stamford Bridge then start crowing
ReplyDeleteI think we need to keep the same back 3, it's important they continue to work together in order to improve their team work and consistency.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I am not against playing Can in midfield instead of Henderson or Lucas, they deserve to be rested, specially Lucas.
And if Lovren has a good performance then it will be good for his confidence.
As such this the team I am hoping to see:
Mignolet
Lovren Skrtel Sakho
Manquillo Can Rossiter
Wow he he forgot one player was cup tied...wow...it's end of the world. Get a grip!
ReplyDeleteAlso, Lambert should not be starting matches for us...his style is absolutely the contrary from our play...if we need a plan B then he can come on but that's about it.
ReplyDeletePS Henderson has been getting a lot of praise recently but I still don't see what all the fuss is about...don't get me wrong, he is a tidy player and get's a the job done. I know he can run for days and can press really well but I think people's comparing him to Gerrard is frankly ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteHe still lacks that little spark...I can't see him inspiring the team to win a game when were losing by two goals.
What do you think?
Very happy to be proved wrong.
I also don't think he should be captain, but that's just my opinion. Furthermore I don't know who else...But if Sakho keeps performing well until next season and stay's injury free I think it should be him IMO.
Andy Carroll
ReplyDeleteLucas or Sakho for me.
ReplyDeleteI really started to appreciate Hendo in last season's first match against the mancs (1-0 victory). There was a point later in the match where it was obvious he was gassed but he kept hurtling around the field to close down space and protect our lead. That kind of attitude is perfect and makes me loathe to fault him.
Does he have magical technical skills like Gerrard or Coutinho? Nope. Tidy player, as you say, hopefully gaining confidence. He is improving, though, and he does tend to pop up with important assists and goals. He also tends to disappear sometimes, but maybe that's due to formation and strategy.
I'm not convinced that we can't improve on Hendo - there are clearly technically better players out there - but it will be extremely harsh to simply replace him with, say, a Strootman or Nainggolan. I think we could use some more competition and diversity of skills, yes, but anybody coming in would have to displace Lucas and Hendo before becoming a regular.
He's no Gerrard replacement, for sure. It's folly to look for one, but if we do try to replace Gerrard's impact as an attacking midfielder then we should be looking at people like Pjanic and Pogba (expensive, obviously). Not sure how to go about this, to be honest.
You're right we are stuck with them til the summer- just hope they get moved on then
ReplyDeleteI agree JK runs a tight ship and as a result it is a site I can enjoy without having to wade through childish and insulting drivel (apart from my own comments).
ReplyDeleteI admire his ability to keep up a steady stream of often thought provoking articles with a "different" perspective and relatively few repetitions save for the odd bee in his bonnet.
That said I find some of the deletions and bans a bit OTT from time to time. The sheik was banned for merely up voting a comment perceived to be negative and I have had comments deleted which were no more than gentle ribbing. For someone who can be pretty abrasive himself in his comments he can show an over sensitivity to anyone showing persistence in challenging his views
However it's JK's ball and if he decides to take it away you just have to "get over it" or move on to another site.
Excellent reply, thank you, very insightful.
ReplyDeleteStill trying to squeeze Lovern back into the side huh Jaimie.
ReplyDeleteDo you think Lovern would have done better than Can in that position on Tuesday ? Because I see nothing he's done to earn a start since being dropped.
----------------Mingolet
Manquillo Skrtel Sakho Enrique
Can Allen
Lallana Rossiter Borini
Balotelli
Just remember that we haven't lost since Lovern has been dropped.
ReplyDeleteWhen things weren't going well we had detailed explanations why we needed change. Now we get BR out. Well structured argument
ReplyDeleteDo you all realise that we have not LOST since Lovern has been dropped?
ReplyDeleteYes many of you want him back in the starting 11?
I'll decide when I Crow thanks. I'll take continued improved performances, more chances being created and enjoying watching us again
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see Ibe start against Bolton.
ReplyDeleteCup tied
ReplyDeletecupped tied
ReplyDeleteCup tied.
ReplyDeleteSince you have mentioned that we had detailed explanations, why should I repeat?
ReplyDeleteReally? That's a scary stat!
ReplyDeleteThe same goes for Lucas, we haven't lost since he's been back.
Cup tied! for the fourth time....jesus!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's nearly Feb
ReplyDeleteIndeed....I'm trying to get Jaimie to admit he got it wrong when he stated that we should sell Sakho instead of Lovern.
ReplyDeleteHe wont admit that but will go quiet about it.
When your wrong about a player you should admit it ...I was very critical of Markovic and now happily admit i got it wrong.
I am surprised that despite all the knowledgeable people on this site no one has noticed that he's cup tied
ReplyDeleteJesus plays for Man City and is not germane to this topic.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't say the Germans have nothing to do with it either. (Takes a bow for those terrible jokes)
Is he? God no.
ReplyDeleteI can only give your comment 5 out of 10
ReplyDeleteWhat has a contestant on the last series of the voice got to do with it either?
ReplyDeletei dont feel BR job is under threat yet, what do you make of rumours that Sterling will sign a new deal after be convinced that BR'S job is secure?do some1 see like i do that BR has all players behind him and if the team fires the manager the dressing room will be unsettled?
ReplyDeleteCore that was eye wateringly bad Stuart!
ReplyDeleteCan look suspect? He was one of the best performer apart from conceding the penalty. Playing Balotelli behind the main striker? He barely run, at him with Borini instead.
ReplyDeleteIf BR does not at least have Ibe on the bench for the Bolton match he should be sacked.
ReplyDeleteYeah i know he's cup tied, that's why i wrote "too bad he can't " :)
ReplyDeleteThanks ;-)
ReplyDeletehahahah wind up merchant *move along people nothing to see here*
ReplyDeletehe was cup tied as well...couldn't perform on the xfactor
ReplyDeleteHog tied
ReplyDeleteWhy was Ibe called back from the loan when he wasn't even going to make the bench? in a cup match??? Insane.
ReplyDeleteSack him!
ReplyDeleteI second with yua analysis JK,surely neither of the two is worth such crazy amount at the moment
ReplyDeleteMarkovic still remains a bad signing in my books. At the time when he was signed, we needed impact players. We could have done a lot better in this season with regards to transfer.
ReplyDeletefrom some one who thinks he knows everything about comments and jokes in general mr never wrong Stuart gives 5 out of 10 with the joke obviously aimed at ME and just 5 out of 10 ??????? nice joke once again NOT
ReplyDeleteJamie, Balotelli has more of a chance of playing as right CB than Lovren. Skrtel will always be above Lovren for that position.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the look of Skrtel above Lovren for any position.
ReplyDeleteYou can't sack Ibe. He is cup tied.
ReplyDeleteTouche my friend Touche
ReplyDeleteAlberto will play LWB
ReplyDeleteHe should, Markovic should play as a forward or remain on the bench.
ReplyDeleteLighten up mate.
ReplyDeleteAnd we haven't won the Champions League since selling Djimi Traore. Someone needs to be held to account.
ReplyDeleteWas trying to imitate someone, see the initial comment of this chain.
ReplyDeleteSaw some similarity there missed the joke.
ReplyDeleteThe good news is you can take your appeal to the moderator. The slightly less good news is that JK is the moderator :-/
ReplyDeleteI failed you.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I just can't agree with you here. You make some excellent points about Hendo's positive traits, but most accomplished passer in the PL?
ReplyDeleteNot a chance.
He isn't even the most accomplished passer in his club...
luciano vietto is just as good and apparently available a lot cheaper. we definitely need this type of player so we can get rid of balo this winter, who doesnt fit our model at all.
ReplyDeleteLast season great to watch and this season getting better
ReplyDeleteGreat post Robo Lazars...not sure about being the best all round but ....just to add we looked like we could win the league last season then Henderson gets suspended for the last three games and the rest is history, that's why we lost the league, not because one player slipped in one match, the team didn't perform the same with out Hendo, imo....
ReplyDeleteI'm only making the case, so there's an element of advocacy here : ) But I'm not just saying it for the sake of it. Who has a more varied range of passing than Henderson at LFC at this point?
ReplyDeleteThe only one who can touch him is Gerrard. But Gerrard's short game has never been as good as Henderson's is now, never as patient and tactical, and he has always tended to dwell on the ball when looking for options in a way that Henderson rarely does. There aren't as many positions from which Gerrard's passing is as effective as Henderson's. Can has a good long pass but it's not reliable with it yet: he can screw it along the ground and sometimes whips it the wrong way. And he's not as two-footed or as efficient as Henderson.
Gerrard and Can look great -- as do Cazorla, Carrick, Fabregas -- but Henderson is equal to them in terms of effectiveness, if not in terms of pure quality, and equals or exceeds them in his range and variety of passes. And none of them have his workrate. He's a really terrific midfielder.
That's up to you. Most of the negative arguments were knee jerk then and would look a little flawed now as things have improved
ReplyDeleteThis season is nearly over- took him way to long to change his tactics
ReplyDeleteMy arguments were based on
ReplyDelete- Transfers (still not happy)
- Team selection (vast improvement although a bit late)
- ignoring Lucas (to a point that he couldn't ignore anymore...should have played him since the beginning)
- How to play Gerrard (improvement but he is leaving which makes me sick, BR or FSG is the culprit here IMO)
- Man-management (Suso gone, Balotelli ignored, Borini finally gets a chance but I think that is to attract buyers since the window is open)
- Press conference (blasts Balotelli on every chance he gets, no improvement)
- Long term coach....BR is not the one IMO
.
Few other points as well but am tired.
My argument was that we had Jordan Ibe and felt that Markovic was not a priority
ReplyDeleteHit the nail on the head! Whole scouting/transfer committee needs a serious re-evaluation
ReplyDeletewould be interesting to see what kind of formation BR can come up with sign all these guys to add to our current attackers!
ReplyDeleteAnd for 20mn, you expect a priority signing.
ReplyDelete35m
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me that Rodgers is being proved right and you're being proved wrong. Under pressure, instead of modifying your position, you fall back on the dogmatic repetition of a simplistic demand, "BR out".
ReplyDeleteThe arguments that justified that demand look increasingly insecure. You behave as though holding onto it more and more ferociously will somehow make it true. It won't. The list you've made there is pretty tenuous, dependent on various kinds of "what iffery".
By all means keep saying it. You'll be right in the end. Eventually the time will come for Rodgers to leave Liverpool and move on. But this is not that time.
Vyas out.
ReplyDelete; )
I agree that he is doing some good things right now but its little too late for me. If we don't qualify for top 4 this season, I see no reason to stick with BR. I will always fear that he might sign some rubbish again, play wrong players and wrong positions again, talk rubbish again...etc, etc. Doesn't give me the sense of security.
ReplyDeleteI'd expect to see Ibe start this game as they're a Championship team and Ibe has just had 5 months experience at that level.
ReplyDeleteChampionship teams nearly always present a bit of a surprise to prem teams as the football and mentality is different, maybe more "battling", in the Championship. Seems like the perfect game for Ibe to feel " in his comfort zone" and perform in
Cup tied
ReplyDeleteDid not even cross my mind, consider yourself the new LK fountain of knowledge :)
ReplyDeleteI'd expect to see myself looking foolish!!! Just found out he's cup tied
ReplyDeleteI agree, cup tied is such a lame excuse for not to play Ibe.
ReplyDeleteIf Ibe and Teixiera do not start the match I for one will boycott the game.
ReplyDeleteBR wants to keep Johnson apparently- -- oh no
ReplyDeleteEven Johnson must be wondering why.
ReplyDeleteTeixiera scored couple of goals in his last match, definitely deserves a start.
ReplyDeleteOh and btw, BR is the one who is proving me right. Some of the recent changes are the ones I repeatedly suggested from the day one of the season. Makes me wonder what took him so long to figure it out such obvious faults.
ReplyDeleteWe've only lost once since we started playing well (man u game), lots of other factors, other than Lovren, are responsible for that
ReplyDeleteIbe is cup tied and Teixeira is on loan at Brighton
ReplyDeleteI lol'ed anyone who didn't get it well...
ReplyDeleteApologist!
ReplyDeleteCan is gonna be a monster of a holding midfielder, he fouls a fair bit but so does and did Gerrard and Scholes. I hope we sell Lucas quick and start playing Can as CDM.
ReplyDeleteSpot on Can had a very good game apart from the pen. Markovic is a bit of s headless chicken for me but the most irritating thing is how casual he is with passes. I thought Sterling struggled for parts of the game against the big Chelsea defenders, but on the flip side great goal.
ReplyDeleteI'll give you 1 thing Rodgers bought RUBBISH! Undeniable fact. Even the players that are coming good don't leave me with much enthusiasm for the future.
ReplyDeleteCan was excellent against Chelsea but for the one mistake, and he's been consistently good for us whereas Lovren has been consistently poor. Can is by far the better player and that's why he's first choice for Rodgers and the large majority of LFC supporters. Bar injury I don't see how Lovren will get back into the team (for important matches that is)
ReplyDeleteSomeone with such brilliant strategy really ought to be coaching at a professional level himself...
ReplyDeleteNow it is another case of what to do after you get few things right for Brendan. It is crystal clear that Lukas and Gerrard should not feature in this game, that Can should be tried out in midfield, that two upfront(Mario and Fabio) should start, with Ballo behind him, and that Sterling and Couts should be on the bench, alongside with Rossiter who should be first one in, maybe even in the line up.. Who knows, maybe he is on the streak of right decisions.,.
ReplyDeleteHe changed before half way.
ReplyDeleteHow is that nearly over?
Maybe we should've tried with Reus. And instead of Lambert and Ballo, should've tried with Higuain, Falcao, Benzema.. Wait, we did, didn't we?
ReplyDeleteYou'll see the best of him when we go back to 4-4-2 diamond with Can DM, him and Lallana on the flanks of it.
ReplyDeleteUpvoted you simply because that statement is fun to say aloud.
ReplyDelete...so are your arguments ;)
ReplyDeleteJust saw it 13 times in a row, haha- great!!! And I think we'll see the best of him when we go back to 4-4-2 diamond with Can DM, him and Lallana on the flanks of it. With sorted defence(thanks Sakho) and with Can and Lallana covering for him, instead him covering Gerrard he will deliver more.
ReplyDeleteThe ammount of times he was first to run the counter attack taking one or two defenders with him is superb. That goal in CL, and so many other things no other player does on a regular basis...
I've been saying that since we lost it. Actually said we might lose it when he got the red...
ReplyDeleteZamperini has always been crazy with projections of worth of his players, but scary enough he gets it oftenly....
ReplyDeleteWait a bloody second! Ibe is cup tied?!?!
ReplyDeleteWasn't a better idea to call him back end of the month. Ok he got to train with the team which is possitive, but few more matches might be a batter idea?
ReplyDeleteI just had a go at give Shey Ojo a go. it is!
ReplyDeleteNearly Feb 10 wins I'd say that's nearly over
ReplyDeleteNo I expected the money to be used to buy a decent striker
ReplyDeleteKidding? Darn! I am sure I would do a great job as a manager.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling that BR will rest nobody or at the maximum one or two player. He will give everything to win at least one competition to make sure that he is still at the helm next season even if we finish out of top 4.
ReplyDeleteaFFRAID OF THAT TOO. bUT IT IS WINNABLE WITH subs..
ReplyDeleteHopefully he will prove me wrong.
ReplyDeleteyep...
ReplyDeleteI think he's cup-tied. Not sure. Can someone check?
ReplyDeleteIs he cp tied?
ReplyDeleteHow dare he actually try to win something.
ReplyDeleteBR out!
Enrique is shit and should not start... Moreno all the way
ReplyDeleteMessi is untouchable!
ReplyDeleteAll he needs to do is look at Kenny's last season. Won a trophy. Got to the FA Cup final. Terrible league record. Spent a boatload of cash.
ReplyDeleteNot the recipe for keeping the job at LFC
Let's wait and see on Markovic.
ReplyDeleteStill a ways to go.
I compared BRs season with KDs earlier but someone didnt like it and blasted me.
ReplyDeleteReally? 3 at the back with can one of a back 3. Markovic at right wing back and sterling up top? BR proven to at least have the ability to be flexible with his tactics and formations. Lucky escape re r martinez!
ReplyDeleteHmm how did you feel last season? Many of the above are all knee jerk positions.
ReplyDeleteMany Signings are coming good.
Ballotelli is not the answer as he is incapable of playing for the team with and without the ball.
It's easy to criticise team selection but he's found solutions to this as he had with changes to formations and tactics.
Gerrard leaving is bad news but don't see how that is BRs fault. He wants to play every game and he won't be able to add he gets older. How would Gerrard fit in higher up the pitch when sterling, sturridge, lallana and continho are ask fit and available.
Same goes for suso i expect although i agree be deserved more chances as did borini at times this season. Lucas I like and hope stays
BR in!
moreno has a way to go defensively, ibe can compete at lwb, balo can come good yet...maybe.spoton with Can
ReplyDeleteIn fairness, Kenny was fired because of the 2nd half league record being in the bottom 3 (Pretty sure Tom Werner said as much)
ReplyDeleteBrendan isn't on that bad of a path, though if we hadn't played so well over the past 7 weeks or so, I think there's a strong likelihood he wouldn't make it to June.
In 3 cups and 5 points off top 4 still to play manure at home can't be nearly over with 16 games to play!
ReplyDeleteI agree BR is too late to react to some obvious things(as and when they go wrong) that need immediate attention. Plus I don't see him attracting top players in a foreseeable future !
ReplyDeleteLFC need trophies now.
Well if BR has to stay, then only the following combination can work:
BR + defensive coach + DOS(& proactive scouts)
Next 4 PL games is will decide if top 4 is possible beat Ski at home and it's 50/50 to win a cup til then it's all ifs and maybes- The PL is the one to win and BR own words were we would push on this season - from 2nd last season means win it this season- we are 17 pts behind the leaders-now he's saying we can compete next season. IMO the job came 2-3 seasons too soon for him
ReplyDeleteCheers mate, thanks.
ReplyDeleteManquillo at centre half?
ReplyDeletebut we had our cup games this month... Oh wait... Is he cup tied?
ReplyDeleteEmre Can was outstanding against Chelsea ESPECIALLY in the 2nd half. His challenge for the Hazard dive for the penalty in the 1st half was a bit clumsy, but apart from that he was outstanding. He showed very good composure to get out of tight situations and made good forward passes out of the back. This is a game he should play in to continue his development. He's a lot better than Lovren even though he's playing out of position, but I guess Lovren's fee is the main reason you want to catapult him into the team. The fact is that Lovren has been found wanting during his time here. Skrtel is the one who should not play as he needs a rest, not 21 yr old who has been impressive in the limited number of games he has played.
ReplyDeleteGood selection. As long as Allen doesn't play and spend the game gettting pushed off the ball every time he's in possession I'll be happy.
ReplyDeleteFirst and foremost the Transfer Committee and I Ayre need to be shipped out, secondly B Rodgers or who ever is manager of the club does not only have to go for young players with potential to make profit in future on their sales if they become star, they should bring in class, quality and top players whether they are experienced or players with potential.
ReplyDeleteThis Transfer window so far has been annoying, yeah we are playing well at moment. But the reality is we still need a top class GK in who will make S Mignolet(26) a bench warmer.
A Begovic(27) Of Stoke or Marc- Andre Ter Stegen(22) Of Barcelona should be brought to club for £10-£14M as soon as possible
Our club/ team still need a mobile DM. L Leiva(27) has done very well since he has been put back in team but his lack of energy, mobility, pace and speed at times is exposed. L Leiva(27) has been the best defensive midfielder at club for last 4 seasons as he has no real class competition for his place, he is only centre midfielder who enjoys tackling and getting stuck in and he should have played ahead of S Gerrard(34) as DM from start of season.
L Bender(25) Of Bayer Leverkusen or M Schneiderlin(25) Of Southampton should be brought to club for £17-£22M as soon as possible
Lastly we have £31M worth of Strikers who don't score enough goals at club and two of them should be shipped out this month and replaced by two top class strikers:
Outs: F Borini(23) should be sold for £8-£11M to Hull, QPR Or C Palace
R Lambert(32) should be sold to West Brom for £4-£5M
Whilst B Rodgers should bring in:
L Vietto(21) Of Villareal for £10-£15M and L Adriano(27) Of Shakhtar Donesk for £3-£5M now or sign him on Pre Contract for the Summer
