'We Go Again' - Steven Gerrard's full speech in the huddle revealed (Video)

A few weeks ago, someone in the comment section asked where Liverpool will finish in the league this season, and I said: 'LFC will win the league. I'm sure of it'. I'm sure there are many fans who share my optimism, and after today's magnificent victory, the Reds have taken another giant step towards ending the club's 24-year title drought. There are still four massive games to go, but as far as I'm concerned, the title is already in the bag, and there's just no way this Liverpool team is going throw it all away now.

Anfield erupted with joy and emotion at the final whistle, and the elation/relief of the players - particularly Reds captain Steven Gerrard - shone through like a beacon.

The togetherness and camaraderie that has fueled the club's title charge also manifested itself again in the post-match huddle, but what did Gerrard tell the players? Here is the video of his brief speech:

Another version, which includes more post-match celebration:

  2. Stevie is absolutely right! Most people would think teams like Norwich are going to be easy based on our past performances against them but beware, they are fighting for their top-flight status! I believe the team's spirit is strong but all the same the remaining 4 games should be treated as cup-finals.

The defending needs to be outside our box and we should pace ourselves properly so that we don't fade during the second-half. We will miss Hendo and possibly Sturridge. The likes of Allen and Lucas should grab these opportunities and show what they are made of as should Aspas and Mosses when they are given the node.

Regardless, I'm one extremely happy fan and I'm very grateful to the Almighty for everything so far!

  3. I think I hear him saying something like this:
"Listen! This does not f-ing slip now. Listen! Listen! This does not f-ing slip now. Next week we go to Norwich exactly the same. We go again!"

  7. Anyone else notice that Gerrard is looking directly at Moses, hoping that put a spark up his arse.

  8. I think we're going to win the league as well, but I'm not sure we'll win all of our last 4. That being said, I'm positive Man City and Chelsea will drop points as well, so us dropping points won't necessarily lose it for us...but I am worried about the Chelsea game. If anyone else managed Chelsea I wouldn't be nearly as worried, but Mourinho is too clever...I wouldn't be surprised to see them play for a draw with the hope of snatching a goal on the counter. We've blown away the big attacking teams at home and we've ground out results against the lower teams that park the bus, but how will we do if Chelsea parks the bus? Part of me isn't that worried because every team comes to Anfield knowing how dangerous we are and trying to combat that, and we're still knocking in the goals, but Chelsea is a different animal than any of the other big teams in that regard. What I do know, though, is that BR knows exactly what he's doing and these players are incredibly fired up, but while I fully expect us to win the title I think it's far from in the bag.

  9. Dont know why moses was involved there lol. We are not playing great lately just picking up points and this is normal, but really the second half was poor today, I almost gave up when they equalised. Cant be risking every game like that, some stupid mistakes could cost us the title, very dangerous. Hendo missing three games now after that stupid tackle, hopefully lucas will do fine. Sturridge injured, knowing him he will probably miss the rest of the season, another blow. It will be very tight, we got to win those 4 games if we want that title.

  10. That definitely what I would call a Champion's performance today. In the end it was quite evenly contested, but for me the victory was all the sweeter because it was so hard fought. Just when it seemed that the tide had turned against us, the lads dug deep and found something extra to secure the win. That desire, commitment and hunger that is surging through the team from Gerrard down, that's what wins titles. After all he has given of himself to the club, nobody would deserve it more than him.

  11. For me the game turned at 60 minutes with Gerrard stopping Dzeko with that sliding toe poke. I thought sure SG had to have pulled a hamstring...what a massive save that was. MotM right there. He was all over after that...thundering clearances out intercepting passes...magnificent. And how about Mignolet's saves late...wow. Massive win. I don't think Sakho's whiffed kick was a penalty. He was clearly trying to clear the ball and had he connected, there's nothing left to call. Dzeko tried to stay up because he thought the whiff gave him the ball. He stayed up and then dived. Good no call I thought. The bad no call was Skrtel's hand ball in the box on the corner. Tim Howard said no call, but that was as good a disguise of an intentional handball as you'll ever see.

  12. Think he said: "Eyyy, this does not fucking slip now, listen to me, this does not fucking slip! Listen, listen! This is gone, we go Norwich, exactly the same, we go again. Come on!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEYAkc6d1Gw
