'Absolutely Gutted' - Konoplayanka's Agent confirms €19m LFC deal is dead.

Yehven Konoplyanka's English representative has confirmed that the Ukrainian's €19m move to Anfield is OFF.

Earlier this evening, Russian TV channel 'Russia' 24' claimed that:

* LFC agreed to pay a €19m transfer fee for Konoplyanka

* The length of the contract is 4.5 years.

* Konoplyanka will earn €70k a week.

Ukrainian newspaper Tribune also reported that a deal had been agreed between Liverpool and Dnipro.

Predictably, however, Liverpool have failed once again to seal the deal.

Earlier today, Konoplayanka's rep provided the following update:

A few minutes ago, Lippett basically confirmed the demise of the deal:

The only other interpretation of the above tweet is that the deal has actually gone through, but Lippet has somehow been swindled out of his commission ;-)

Ultimately, it's another case of same sh*t, different window. Reports that Ian Ayre offered a year's supply of donuts as part-payment cannot be confirmed at this time.

On a related note - it's highly amusing how LFC are trying to spin this latest transfer fail. Literally one hour after the transfer deadline, the club has posted an interview with Brendan Rodgers, wherein he insists that he's happy with the current squad.

Spin at its finest :-)

When asked a few minutes ago why deal fell through, a shell-shocked Ian Ayre insisted:

"I just donut know what happened!"

We all wait for Ayres cock and bull story... Knowing how charming he is, everyone will be given a free doughnut at the next home game to rid the bitter taste thats left from his incompetence during these 31 DAYS...

  2. Absolutely gutted with the news, not just because of Konoplyanka not coming in, but this is now the 5th big name player Liverpool have been linked with but unable to sign. Ian Ayre has demonstrated again that he is completely incompetent and unable to close the big deals. He is a relic of the old regime and needs to be replaced immediately!

  3. I've said it before , these agents practice the modern day leechcraft, because it's deadline day they think it's Ben Dover day, if the deal has failed I won't b losing any sleep, I would sooner our club be run prudently than end up like Leeds, the fact is that without CL revenue we have to be sensible , it's ok saying gamble but that ain't business

  4. Everyone is failing to mention that Jorghino also a target for our mid was also signed earlier this January from Hellas to Napoli and guess who got him there. Yes Good old RAFA. At the end of the day LFC dont want to have another Andy Carroll. We cant afford to make those mistakes but it is true that we drag our feet trying to get a deal and other teams come in pay top dollar and we get assed out. LIttle upsetting but not surprised and in all reality we have IBE, BORINI, ASPAS, SUSO, that should be ready for 1st team action all next season. KEEP YOU HEADS UP REDS

  5. has assaidi come back?

  6. Hearing that their chairman wouldn't sign the papers and tried to persuade Kono to stay instead. The player himself wouldn't have taken a medical if he hadn't wanted to come. This leaves the possibility that we didn't have the most basic piece of negotiation in place- the price-, in which case Ayre should be sacked.
Or they kept moving the goalposts and refusing to sign as agreed in order to a) get more money or b) force the player to stay.
A whole month, and we sign NOBODY. Whatever the explanation, that's p*ss poor

  7. like a scouting network has many people. it's time we had several deal closers rather than relying in one inept individual.

Even without champs league we could show the finance for this transfer... with the doughnut, gaurda and vauxhall cash. I honestly wonder what the players at home make of all this BS with our transfers dealings? (esp Suarez).

  9. ayre wouldn't even be able to organise that...and he's our player!

  11. We need Germans like me. They get s*** done. Not only done, done well.

  12. Agree wit both below! Seems we wud not pay lump sum! It's devided our supporters but way I see it if we fail to make CL this time, we'll lose Luis n couple of experienced players in summer! Man U , Chelsea , City n arsenal will all spend heavy n Brendan will have usual 20 million to buy 3 grade shit players again! So way I see it he will leave sooner rather than later cos he can't improve to his desired level!

  13. It wont be much of a comfort if they're here next season and Suarez isn't, because we didn't get into the Champions League.

  14. he would probably go to sunderland to look for him lol

  15. ayre is putting a bid together as we speak.

  16. we failed again, is Ayre to blame or is he so constrained by the owners that he has no room to negotiate. Are the owners telling him they want the deal in 4 payments over 4 years. I dont know, but I cant believe Ian Ayre is that incompetent. Anyway I would rather have bought a left back and a defensive midfielder, definitely a DM

  17. yup well we sturro for a bit too for hells sake even berbatov, ince, hernanes for 20 mil steal, mitroulogu for like 15 to fulham, holtby on loan like wtf we could of used hotlby or henandez a lil depressing now that i started to see all the player movements to sorrier clubs. Chelsea was the only big club moving pieces.

  18. Much like a donut, we have a big hole in the middle of the pitch where a defensive mid should be.

    ReplyDelete
  19. This is all because Ayres rock was too stupid to realize he had been led on in the Salah deal Liverpool were obviously plan B for all concerned.
He should have moved on and identified other targets earlier a bad move by the club anyway not addressing full back or central mid positions.
The next window is going to be tough being a world cup year and needing to move out a few players also time to get a director of football who will handle transfers.

  20. If we didnt want to spend the money then we shouldn't have entered the negotiations, its nothing to do with CL football or agents. Its owners who show no ambition.whatsoever. After all i am sure its they who set up the bloody stupid transfer committee, with their under valuations.

  21. prob wont happen but id like to see agger given a go in the holding midfield position, hes good on the ball and can pick a pass. lets just hope our injured players get back quicker than expected

    ReplyDelete
  22. We might want to consider replacing Ayre with one of those doughnuts. It couldn't possibly be a worse negotiator than he is.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Disappointing! How will this affect morale within the team? With all the injuries some new blood would have been encouraging. Lets be positive and remember what we achieved last game with these players

    ReplyDelete
  24. This case may not be over. What the Dnipro owner did may not be legal in the sense. We triggered a buy out clause, but he still refused...

    ReplyDelete
  25. going to be tougher without champs league again. if that happens of course

    ReplyDelete
  26. arsena-suarez again..........he may not have had one. i just hope the owners next sh*te is a hedgehog!

    ReplyDelete
  27. it's raining again...it will.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Read the full reports. There was no finanial issue. Dinipros owner just refused to sign off on the deal. Not liverpools fault.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Let's just hope he had a legitimate buy out clause in our favour, not a clause like Liverpool had when it only encompassed Liverpool considering the deal and telling Suarez, nothing else.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Who knows. Maybe even Chuck Norris could not negotiate with that owner

    ReplyDelete
  31. Well, I'm sure Ayre & FSG are delighted to have saved the money that would have had to be shelled out. Seriously, looking at all the players we've managed not to sign, the club needs to urgently review its transfer policies & processes. I wonder if we'll ever manage to buy a player??

    ReplyDelete
  32. maybe should of done a bit more homework on plan B, the guy is obviously a messer and will hold out for more in the summer.
chelsea prob rang him up and said hold till then and we will pay more!! you never know !!

  33. "Give us Kono, and you eat me and my family."

  34. Yeah, we should just give in to every demand made, would lov to sell you something !

This is an absolute JOKE what a disgrace, to be honest the whole doing business behind closed doors is just to stop the fans from rioting because of their inablity to do the job if they (who ever is dealing on our behalf) are unable to do the job in recruiting, then they need to be sacked, it would happen to anyone else in their place of employment.
What a crock of shit, now we will wait for BR to smooth shit over and say how hard they worked and are disappointed about this deal falling through, bullshit, we should of had Kono and M'Villa in this window but this was always going to impossible because of the half arsed efforts during this window and the previous.
So i will say this, if we fail in the hunt for CL and Suarez does want to leave, then i hope all the fans direct their anger and frustration at management and not the footballer because thats where it should be directed.

  36. rodgers must be steaming !! got to feel for him, hes got the right idea thats for sure
