'He's a miracle': €40m LFC target who's 'like Shevchenko' can leave in Jan. Bid...?

Galatasaray President Unay Aysal has confirmed that he is willing to sanction a January transfer for lont-time Liverpool target Burak Yilmaz.

When asked about Yilmaz's future at the Leaders in Football conference, this week, Aysal said:

"If he [Yilmaz] wants to leave, why not? I favour Turkish players going to Europe to play in European leagues"

Liverpool have been regularly linked with a move for 27-year old Yilmaz (who cost Galatasaray a mere €5m in July 2012), and in July, Sky Sports reported:

"Liverpool are keeping tabs on Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmaz. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is drawing up a shortlist of targets to replace Luis Suarez. Should he leave, Rodgers will be keen to bring in a big-name signing to help fill the void".

Recently-sacked Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim recently admitted for the first time that the prolific striker Burak Yilmaz could leave. He told The Observer:

"It's not going to be easy to keep him [Yilmaz]. Burak senses goals. He can score any time and from anywhere. He is always thinking about scoring one more goal. In that respect, he's like Andriy Shevchenko. He has been a miracle signing, and he is going to get better and better."

Speaking Sabah in March, Aysal slapped a ridiculous transfer fee on Yilmaz:

"Speculation will mount, but Burak is a very valuable star for us. If, however, we are talking about Falcao being worth €55 million, then my player is €40m."

Earlier this week, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho claimed that Yilmaz 'could play for any team in the world', and if Luis Suarez leaves during the January transfer window, is the Turkish international a viable alternative?

  1. if your plying your trade in turkey at 27 there is a reason why

  2. Why will Suarez leave in January, there is no evidence for this. If we were so adamant that he wouldn't leave in the summer why would we let him go now?

  3. Well he is Turkish so.. :) For the right price he'd be okay, I definitely wouldn't pay over the top for him but his goal record in the last 3 years speaks for itself.

  4. You are the most cynical 'fan' in the world. I can't believe the shite i've seen you write. This site is a joke and very much a case of the blind leading the blind.

  6. Haha I can imagine they're willing to let him leave. He had a fallout with Sneijder and hasn't scored a goal so far this season.

  7. i didn't even know he was Turkish i was referring to the standard of the league....for the right price take a punt but not silly money ...but the problem i have is at 27 the guy will want to play first team football so will he oust sturridge and suarez down the pecking order

  8. Considering he was close to leaving for Lazio around the 15m mark in the last transfer window, me thinks the 40m is a very dated figure. The move to Lazio fell through because of agent fees, according to Lazio. Whereas the agent said Lazio offered less than what Gala wanted (agent said:"the last request from Galatasaray was a fee of €11m plus €4m [in add-ons]. Lazio responded by offering €9.5m plus €2m.")

  11. The article clearly states that he is on a short list if LS leaves. If he stays, the short list ought to be reserved for mid-fielders.

  12. why sell suarez in january? when you fought so hard to keep him
yilmaz is 28 , fsg will not pay anywhere near half the price quoted for taht and that is good
    luis muriel would be nice

  13. I definitely think he would be a good buy!! Not for anywhere near the price the owner wants though. £15mill MAX

  14. Definitely think Muriel should be someone to push hard for to replace Suarez
