'LFC are watching him' - Reds eye 'crucial' £10m star on 12-month ban. Mistake...?

The Agent of Real Sociedad star Antonie Griezmann claims that Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in signing the exciting left-winger this summer.

In an interview today, Filippo Vergani - Griezmann's Agent - claimed that a host of top clubs across Europe want the 22-year old attacker. He told Milan News:

"Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are constantly watching him, as are Marseille and PSG in France; and Milan, Juventus and Fiorentina in Italy"

When asked to describe Griezmann's playing style, Vergani waxed lyrical about the youngster's attacking versatility, and insisted that a 433 formation - Brendan Rodgers' preferred approach - suits him perfectly:

"Griezmann can play on either flank, but is better on the left. He is fast, and one-on-one situations are his strong point, and tight-marking doesn't work on him. He has the ability to open up defences and change games"

Speaking to Le10sport in March, Real Sociedad boss Montanier Philippe Montanier heaped praise on Griezmann.

"He is a complete player. One of the best in La Liga. He is able to play multiple positions, and he is crucial to us. He has a lot of potential, and I think he has a great future"

£10m-rated Griezmann is one of five players (M’Vila, Ben Yedder, Mavinga and Niang currently suspended from international duty with France for visiting a Parisian night club the night before an U21 Qualifier.

The suspension - which runs until 31 December 2013 - sent Griezmann into a period of poor form, but the player insists that he's now back on the right track:

"[The slump] was all in my head due to what the French Football Federation accused me of. I was a little out of it. I have to thank the coach for his confidence in me and my teammates for supporting me.”

Griezmann has 9 goals and 3 assists in 29 starts this season, which is good, but not great. A realistic option for LFC this summer...?

Sounds like an answer to me and, more to the point, not that unrealistic. So who would you buy, considering our budget and the fact that we won't sell 5 or 6 players, football-manager style, for £10m each?

  9. exactly some fans on here think were going to see a mass exodus off players out and were going to replace them with 20 to 30 million pound players the players i mentioned would probably cost about 50 to 55 million we would have to sell 30r 4 players for fsg to balance the books imo borrini ,allen spearing coates, and maybe downing will be surplus to requirements so its pritty plausable

  10. Sociedad have had a big season and i was a fan of Griezmanns but do not think he has lived up to his early promise though his preferred position is on the left he has played as part of a front 2 also.
I think none the less he would be an improvement on Downing and can still improve his game.

  11. or do spurs scout the players and we show interest ;-)

  12. Eriksen is not a dream buy it will be an actuality. I will get two more CB, Douglas on a free transfer and Aymen Abdennour(plays both CB &LB). Tello is a possibility, Gameiro is good player who will fit BR system. Factor in the sale of the underperforming players and we won't be "stretching our budget". Now am sure JC with your Einstein intellect this is too simple for you to comprehend! OH I forgot you are a board member. Nevermind!!

  13. ME I dream big so I will get Jackson Martinez(Suarez stays), Ericksen, Douglas, Toby, Tello!! Now just incase FSG is feeling generous David Villa for game changing moments. Diame will be nice!!

  16. Before you venture to 'realisticly' buy any player, you should learn punctuation and spelling.

  22. I've been crying out loud for over a year to sign this kid. He's amazing - just as good as Ben Arfa, maybe even better technically - FFS FSG, please sign this kid!

  23. yes he can score more goals than sterling and suso. but three of them got the same attribute.

  24. y should we buy Jovetic?? he's transforming to EPL flop

  25. What I believe is that Skrtel will stay and Rodgers was a defender who can organise like Carragher and that can only be one of three-
    1)Raul Albiol
    2)Ashley Williams
    3)Douglas.
Also an attacking player is coming. First priority is Eriksen but chances are that he may go to Dortmund now. So the remaining choices are Remy, Tello, Gameiro and Ince. Borini will stay.

  26. He is more much better from Downing and Henderson. This is real fact !!

  27. If money really is tight then Tello instead of James Rodriguez
