Zenit plan £13m move for Martin Skrtel. Let him go...?

Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg are monitoring Liverpool star Martin Skrtel with a view to making a bid for the defender, who is currently out of favour at Anfield.

According to Russian newspaper Isvestia:

"Zenit are considering the possibility bringing Martin Skrtel back to the club.

"The National champions plan to strengthen their defensive line up with the return of Skrtel, who will have no problems adapting to the Russian league"

Former Russian footballer Boris Chuhlov believes that Skrtel would make a great acquisition for the club, but doubts that the Slovakian would actually make the move. He told Isvestia:

"Skrtel is good and reliable defender and his return would greatly increased competition for a place in the starting line-up. He would really help the team, but I don't think he would leave Liverpool. The only reason he might leave is to get a better, and the chance to appear in the Champions League"

Prior to joining Liverpool, Skrtel - described over the weekend by Ray Houghton as being 'rash' and having 'a lot of deficiencies' - spent 4 years at Zenit, and in a recent interview, he revealed that he still watches out for the club's results. He said:

"I enjoyed my time in St. Petersburg; the the fans and the city were great. This team, which collected a large number of high-profile players, sets a very high goals. I always watch the progress of the Zenit and enjoy seeing their success"

Skrtel revealed last summer that he'd received offers to quit Liverpool, but made it clear he would honour his contract at Anfield:

"There have been a number of offers [from other clubs], but without Liverpool's permission nothing can move forward. We have been in talks about a new contract, but it has not moved forward. At the moment I am a Liverpool player, and what happens in future in football you can never foresee. Anything can happen, but for now I have a valid contract and what is to come will come."

In November 2012, Skrtel again dismissed reports of an Anfield exit after Anzhi Makhachkala expressed an interest in signing him. He told reporters:

"I just extended my Liverpool contract and I'm very satisfied, so let’s leave it at that"

After a number of high profile mistakes this season, Skrtel has lost his first team place to Jamie Carragher, and after contributing to yet another defensive mistake against Man City yesterday, it doesn't look like he's going to dislodge Carra any time soon.

I've never been convinced of Skrtel's solidity, and his mistakes this season show how costly his concentration lapses can be. The club needs to make big defensive changes this summer, and if Zenit come in and offer €15m - the amount Isvestia claims the Russians are offering - then Liverpool should cut their losses and take it.

  1. Add the end of the season we should replace Skrtel with someone better.

  2. He was our player of the season last year.

He's had a poor run, but that doesn't make me want to give up on him.

If the money is right, that's one thing (and that goes for almost anyone).  But selling him just because he's had a poor run and someone's bidding... that's not the right way to go.

Plus, he's still a solid player for us in the event that we begin a rotation of him, Agger, and Carra.  Unless you believe Coates is ready despite his performance in the Oldham contest.

  3. Keep him as 3rd CB, but in summer we need to buy at least two new CBs....

  4. if hes out of favour  whats allen a bad egg

  5. To be honest I would rather keep Skrtel and let Coates go since there would probably only be around 5 million in the difference. Then we could look to get a good replacement for him and if the replacement doesn't work out so well we still have a decent center half.

  6. how was skrtel at fault when its reina that keeps messing up and if u av been watching closely u wud notice that agger has made sum really bad errors this season i think its the way brendon has us set up defensively this season but i do think we will be a better force 2 challenge 4 the top[ 4 next season
sell reina he hasnt wanted 2 play 4 us 4 a while now get a decent keeper and then u watch how confident skrtel and agger become because as a defender there is nothing worse than having a dodgy keeper

  7. they'll see him soon as we play them in Euro Leauge

  8. or a bad chicken?  Which comes first?

  9. hes always been a liability and not the brightest, never been a fan, despite a big improved season last time.
agger needs to go to, they both share similar frailties.
id go as far as saying all teams above us and a few below us have a better center back partnership.
to inconsistant, weak and ball watch

  10. The money is tempting but I'd give it a no for a number of reasons. First of all we don't need the money and we couldn't spend any of it right now anyway so it wouldn't do anything to improve the team. With Carra's age and Agger's injury track record, it would be a risk selling him with only Coates, Wisdom and Kelly as backup for the former two. Skrtel is not a bad player but if he does not fit the system, I'm sure we'll find a buyer for him in the summer as well. Right now, any hope of CL qualfication is hanging by a very thin thread and we shouldn't be cutting away at it ourselves.

  11. id ship out coates and kelly first.....the problem with letting skitrel go now is we have no cover  at all ...agger can get injured tieing his bootlace and we cant rely on carra...im hopeful skirts can get his form back...what rogers should realize is he has limitations ....and tell him to just defend ...no messing about if in doubt hoof it...i think his confidence is shot because hes being asked to play a way hes uncomfortable with

  12. Skrtel needs to go. He's a good defender but the reason we have had such a great defence in recent years has been the leadership. Watching the games its Reina who organizes them and even that wasn't helping hense why Cara was brought back into the frame. Reina needs to leave and Cara isnt getting younger so we could potentially lose two of our best organizers on defense. The solution is Sakho at PSG. Young, good ball control, very fast, and was the captain of the team at age 20. He's fallen down the pecking order since Ancellotti has come in but he would be a perfect replacement for martin and cheaper too. I called for BR to get him in this transfer window but suprisingly his scouts didnt agree with me (that, or he doesnt frequent this blog). I agree we are short at the back if martin, cara, and coates go but if we can get in Sakho (6mil-ish), Amorebieta (bosman), and one more young prospect like Roderick Miranda (2mil) who I rate highly, all for less than 10mil, then I think we'll be in good shape at the back

  13. I thought Erics comments were very sensible.

However, if Zenit come in with an offer, we should say £15M (pounds, not Euros) - if Zenit meet that price, then we should sell as I don't think we would get a better price for him, otherwise we should keep until the summer at least. Which may mean we don't get that price but then hey ho.

The 2nd City goal comes down to 2 factors for me:

    1. Reina charging out for a ball he was not going to win in a "non   threatening area" of the penalty box if Reina stays in his goal.

    2. Skrtel allowed Aguero to get a run in for the ball in the first place due to slack concentration/positioning/misjudgement.

Unfortunately, both these players have committed a number of high profile errors that have cost Liverpool dearly this season. How much of this is down to getting used to the new system of play is unclear. What is clear to me is that Skrtel does make risky, rash challenges that concede free kicks in dangerous areas and gets caught out of position on a fairly regular basis without enough positives to compensate and Reina is guilty of shocking decision making on a fairly regular basis, without enough positives to compensate these days.

  14. May I throw in Isimat-Mirin and Kurt Zouma, too.

  15. I do think you are dreaming about some of the prices you have quoted. There is also perhaps a reason why Sakho (touted as being worth between £20-30M a couple of years ago would now be worth £6M) as you suggest?Brendan Rodgers has spoken at length about the sort of players he is after, not just technically but also mentally. What do you know of the players you mentioned in terms of there mental attributes? What about their personality? Would they fit in in the English league, and at Liverpool? Would they adapt?

Also, replacing Martin (Kelly presumably) and Carra as you suggest (2 home grown players) with non English players - would we not struggle for home grown quotas? Martin and Carra are not just 2 English players, they are homegrown players and we need at least 4 in our squad in any European competition we may qualify for.

I would not be considering replacing Carra just yet as he has proved in the last few games. That tackle on Aguero in our box when he was going right through (just left of penalty spot when facing Reina in our goal) was Carra at his vintage best, exactly the sort of recovery I dont think Skrtel is capable of to be honest.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I have heard good things about these 2, just not sure they are ready to be starters and would they adapt? Sakho looked a great prospect 2/3 years ago and seems to have dropped off the radar a little in last couple of years?

    ReplyDelete
  17. When there was talk of City coming in for him for big money in the Summer, I thought we would do well to capitalise and sell a player at the height of his value.

His performances have dipped recently and that has only hardened my conviction. To be honest, I've never been a huge fan of him. He is a good defender, but no more. We need to replace Carra with a communicator and get someone who is hopefully as dominant as Skrtel can be, but on a more consistent basis.

Final point: as much as I love Agger, I think he has been a serious liability this season. If I'm brutally honest I actually think Skrtel has been the stronger of the two, so considering Agger's fitness record, my dissatisfaction with Skrtel, Carra's age and Coates' seeming inability to impose himself, I think we need 2 centre backs who are good enough to start in the Premiership.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Isimat would be my replacement for Coates, and Zouma surely is too young to be a starter.
Haven't seen much of Sakho lately, but he was hailed as one of the best prospects around a few years ago, before PSG became super-rich. Our scouts surely should have a look at him.

    ReplyDelete
  19. in the summer we should be looking to shift agger, coates.kelly, skirtel and carra and replace with 3 or 4 top quality players if we have any ambition...we have to start being ruthless if they are not up to it ship out

    ReplyDelete
  20. kelly is after 45 g a week ...if kelly rates himself so much why not 20g a week and 50g.if you play thats 5 more than what hes after but if hes as good as he thinks he is its easy money

    ReplyDelete
  21. We dont need replacements, we just need to learn how to defend using BR system.  Its no secret why we have not won against anyone in the top 10, its becasue whilst we look good going forward, we have gone backwards in how we defend. this system is like a modern version of Kevin keegans football; attack and look quality but have no real tactical awarness when you need to defend. To be honest, i would give BR another season, but he needs to start to change his historic stats, his teams have always leaked goals and the tremd in continuing at liverpool. if he does not find a resolution, we will always be a mediocre team that plays good football.

    ReplyDelete
  22. how did he contribute to the aguero goal? it seems if u dont like someone then they can do no right, ur always castigating suarez when he does something questionable to the benefit of our team but when he does something good u give no praise, im questioning ur feelings for liverpool as a club

    ReplyDelete
  23. Daniel Agger is absolutely world class and whoever wants him to leave the club is an absolute doughnut. to really show your a quality centre back you need to have a good partner. agger often does it without skrtel's help, agger is a true liverpool man and always puts his life down on the line for us (makes various blocks and always tries to get involved in the attack). skrtel is good but not world class meaning the odd occasion he will make mistakes, but i dont think we should sell him. 13m would be nice as maybe we could get another quality centre back for that, but if there is no bid we shouldnt think to sell him. Ogbonna from torini is good option as he is young and can grow into the role. Dede from brazil is also a very good choice as he is pacey and can pass and tackle. but i think the best choice would be Varane from real madrid, £13m should be enough to snatch a very quick, determined young athlete who has potential to be the best centre back in the world and by quite a mile. Mourinho loves him at madrid and puts the best centre back in the world(pepe) on the bench for him

  24. The media reports regarding Kelly and wage demands are a concern for sure but they are media reports, who knows what is going on in the background? He may be saying Sterling got this much so I want... who knows?
I think he may be good enough as a squad player but I dont see him being more than a squad player ever. My biggest worry is his injury history.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Not dreaming, just making an educated deduction. Ill address your concerns in order. Your first comment "Sakho was worth 30mill years ago". Players' values depretiate over time and with him only playing 11 games this season theres a very realistic chance we can get him for that or less. Torres was worth 50mil 2 years ago, do you think he's worth that today!? Of course not. 15mil maybe and even then clubs would be hesitant to buy him. As for Sakho's ability, its definately there and he's only on the bench because Ancellotti thinks he needs more development as he was quoted saying in December (he's recently played but only as RB - not his position - to offset injuries). And any questions about Sakho adapting I think are laughable because you could use that excuse with any player coming in from another country. I dont hear anyone questioning Coutinho's ability to adapt to the country and while coutinho is still unproven, PSG made Sakho their captain at 20! The last person we bought who's previous club did something similar ended up rejuvinating the club and became the most feared striker in Europe. Why would we buy non-english to replace english? Well let me think, maybe its because there aren't any good english defenders out there that wont cost an arm and a leg and when was the last time we played kelly and cara together in the team to fill the Uefa quota?  In anycase we have 5 homegrown players who would have more of an impact on the team next season imo (I would love to keep cara as he has been very good when called upon, but we havent sorted out his contract yet and im not sure he'll sign if he hasnt already)

    ReplyDelete
  26. If it was a choice between 13M or a 3rd CB, I would take 13M and buy a better CB

  27. Totally forgot aout Isimat and I think that he would probably be a better option than Amorebieta.I posted that totally forgetting his past inclinations to pick up copious yellow and red cards for his behavior on the pitch. Almost like a spanish joey barton! However, I would still pick Miranda over Zouma only because I've been keeping tabs on him every once in a while and they really do like him at Benfica and could become a very good defender in the near future

    ReplyDelete
  28. That's what I said about Moussa before Jan transfer! Tbh I'm not holding my breath cause I though Moussa would have been perfect for us (competing with lucas for that DM position) but our scouting team ruled him out for whatever reason -assuming they even looked at the lad. But you know I've been on this Sakho bandwagon and I really hope BR has at least one scout checking this site every once in a while. They'd be suprised about how good we are at finding talent :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. If Rodgers can find someone better, obviously enough. We will have learned after happened with Carroll, you don't let go of anyone until you're damned sure you have a suitable replacement. It's interesting to suggest that we can do better but I don't see too many names being mentioned who would be a guaranteed improvement. When Skrtel is on form and gets it right he's a very good defender. While there are some high profile mistakes we can point to it's a fact of footballing life that every player goes through patches like that. Sometimes your mistakes lead to nothing and they get forgotten, but if you happen to make a mistake that leads to a goal it gets more attention. I'm not sure that's actually logical. It could well be the case that Skrtel has no more or less lapses during a game than any other quality defender, we just pay more attention to the ones that are followed by a goal because as fans we need someone to vent our anger at. It takes a very clinical and detached analysis to truly know if a defender is a liability or just suffering from bad luck.

  30. At the end of the season yes, but I`m not sure on selling him right now. From my understanding the rumours are they want him now. I don`t think we have the back up until the summer to sell him now though. What are the other options? Carra? then who? I don`t trust coates in there right now, and altough I think Carra still has it in him, I`m not sure he does enough to play every game for the rest of the season.

If they would agree to take him for that price at the end of the season, I would snap there hand off.

It`s not that I think Skrtyl is that bad, just don`t think he suits our style.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Could just be media tho buddy. They love a good inflated price story. Just look at the 50k a week they said Sterling wanted, which turned out to be way off the mark.

If it was true, then for me, he can go, 45k for a player who spends most of his time injured isn`t value for money, but for now, until I hear it from his mouth, I will take it with a pitch of salt.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Very good points, but homegrown also covers anyone who has been with us for three years who was under 21 during that time, no matter what country they come from, so I think we are covered there.

    ReplyDelete
  33. My feelings are, he was good under Kenny system, but doesn`t fit BR`s. BR`s system means he has to be higher up the pitch more, and also pass out more, which isn`t his strong point. I feel this is why the defense has suffered this year, as this style needs a certain type of defender to cope with it, which we don`t have in the center right now.

    ReplyDelete
  34. both skrtel and reina are poor.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think Kelly is worth keeping (I don't believe these wage rumours) since I don't think he would fetch that big a fee, and if he steers clear of player he is, at the very least, a very capable and reasonably versatile defender.

I could live with the others leaving though. Maybe keep Carra as 4th choice or something and start moving him into coaching.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Not too long ago (this season in fact), ppl were lyrical about how great he was and he was our player of the season last season. Now we are writing him off. The same is being done for Pepe who had pulled us out of countless deep crap situations. Anyone wonders if it is becoz of the way we play now? The blame game has moved thru the players from Jose, Stewart to the young players and now to Martin and Pepe.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm not good at finding talent. The quality of players like Sissoko, Sakho, M'Vila is no secret and our scouts should know about them. My guess would be that we simply weren't in for a defensive midfielder and that's how they slipped away. We probably should try to get Diamé as soon as possible.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Amorebieta is much more experienced than Isimat. He should go straight into the first team while Isimat could come off the bench. You are right about the card collecting habit of Amorebieta, though. Seems he doesn't really know how to time a tackle.
Don't know much about Miranda to be honest, so I'll have to trust you on this one.

    ReplyDelete
  39. How many really good seasons with us has Skrtel had before last season? That, I think, is what we should be concerned about. It seems that his performance last season was the statistical outlier.
As for Pepe, his performances have been littered with high-profile blunders the third season running now. He surely is our best keeper, and he isn't a bad keeper either, but he simply looks so much like someone who wants to be elsewhere by now, that I think it would be best for both parties if he left.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Skrtel has always been one of the defenders who has been inconsistent through out this season however I agree with the others it is more down tot he system that Rodgers plays not the players skill. With Carragher getting to the end of his career we still need Skrtel and two more top notch defenders in the summer. In the summer I can see Skrtel, Renia bothing with Renia's head already being turned by Baracelona (which is why he is making mistakes)

In the summer we need 1 Gk, 2 DC's, 1 defensive Midfielder, 1 striker.

I think we need another striker basically because other than sturridge and Suraez  we have no striker who could consistently play the role if one or both got injuried. We all know the policy of the club owners is to bring in a youngesters and I believe this could be a good thing as he could learn alot from these current two strikers and spend time on the bench (untill he is ready for first team action)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Best defender during Hodgson's time and then after Kenny. Check the stats. He is on par with the best in the league. Remember 2008-09, when he replaced Sami. And we had the meanest defense in the league then. And Skrtel was ominous then. Remember Real, ManU anyone? And the brilliant games before his injuries.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Must Buy Phil Jones from MU.If Skrtel is not good so the one feet man carragher is the best defender in the world. How many error Prone cara made during his playing times.Or he is english should normally starts.skrtel and agger are the best defenders at lfc.Coates need's time to impose himself.Just take a look when cara was 22 how much errors.how much matches lfc lost of his errors.should step down now.look into the staff room.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Varane looks a classy player for the short term and long term, but I doubt Real would let him go for that cheap as he isn't unwanted at Real. In other words, imo, we have no chance of getting him at that price, in the current circumstances.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Never been a big fan of his and felt he was overrated, although he has been fine to say the least for considerable spells at the club. But in this current system, I don't rate him enough to say no to a good offer. To be fair to him and the other CBs, its a totally different system for them to get used to and secondly, not many CBs out there that would be safe bets on being great in such a system. But Skrtel is not great at high line defending and in a system where there is a good chance of getting isolated on the counter, I worry about him. On top of that, you can tell we aren't comfortable at bringing the ball out from the back from Skrtel's side, instead we are much better at doing it from Agger's side. Bit too panicky.

    ReplyDelete
  45. CBs Alex and Thiago Silva have both had injuries in recent times, so Sakho is back in the side currently, played some games at CB and did well in the one game I saw against Lyon. He has started the last seven league games and they have conceded NO GOALS in those seven games. So his PSG stock is on the rise again I would bet. Ancelotti said recently that he has improved a lot, compared to last year, even though he refuses to give him guarantees yet again. Thiago's place is unquestionable and rightly so but me thinks Sakho has a strong of ousting Alex aside for the rest of the season. So I doubt he would be available for less than £10m, if he keeps on going the way he has been going in the last 2 months. If he goes back to being on the bench for long periods again, than there may well be a good chance of getting him cheap as his contract I think runs out in 2014. Only because of the contract situation is there a chance of him being cheap, imo. I would be very surprised if Arsenal didn't go for him, if he was available but maybe they have made their CB bed for the next seasons with Mertesacker, Vermaelen and Kosc.

Personally, I think they'd be mad to cast aside a talented Parisian youth product so hastily and for so cheap. They should continue to nurture him and let him be something for the PSG fans to relate to, just like Isco has been made to feel important (to be fair, that is partially because he has played like an important player) at his hometown club of Malaga with a new contract and responsibilities.

The Bilbao CB is a good shout though, especially Rodgers does maybe seem partial to looking at players from teams who share some traits to his system.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Can't argue with any of your points. Well said. I'm basically banking on the fact that Carlo has been partial to Alex and I'm anticipating him going back to him when everyone in that defence is fit. Could be wrong, but more importantly Sakho has gone from being an automatic and captain to warming the bench behind a defender that is very streaky in Alex. If we came in and offered him first team football and a chance to shine again who knows, we might have found our new Phil Thompson!

On the price issue I think we can get him for less than 10 but knowing us you're probably right and we'll ship out more. Moussa was valued at over 20mil just over a year ago and now went for less than 2mil. Just gets frustrating at times that we seem to always pay more than face-value for every player we get when other teams seem to negotiate some amazing deals with Newcastle leading the way (papiss, ba, moussa, tiote, cabaye, etc)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Does seem like quite a few players over in France do not have long left on their contracts. Might be a symptom of the current financial climate. Gouffran didn't have long left on his contract either. Even Lyon are actively looking to sell players, due to the financial handicap of the new stadium, including those with longer contracts. Similar situation in Spain and probably a lot worse. Its a buyer's market, not a seller's one, in some of these leagues. The Spanish TV providers are not looking to improve the money in the next deal, instead decrease the money. This recession has put a strain on the non-big clubs and even traditional big clubs like the Milan clubs. No wonder the Eastern European clubs are more than ever are able to tempt players over there.

So makes it more frustrating we can't get some of these bargains too, when there clearly are some potential bargains to be had in this current financial climate.

Surely, got to be someone of some quality at Valencia that is going to be sold on the cheap, as they usually sell a few players per summer for the last few seasons and their situation isn't getting better. If they don't make CL, they are screwed me thinks. Only a week or two ago, they defaulted on a loan and I think the local authorities have stepped in. Cruel to prey like this on a club in such trouble but that is the game. The whole Valencian region is in a mess, not just the club.

    ReplyDelete
  48. You're right, its interesting that a lot of these big clubs are known to be in financial straights yet we still manage to pay more than face-value. It is a buyers market like you said except for LFC after our ridiculous outlay under KD. Clubs need money and we broadcasted to the world that we're willing to spend over the top to get players.

It's very sad what happening to clubs like Valencia because they used to be very entertaining to watch. Great youth system that made them into a sort of giant killer around Europe. But I really thought we could have snagged mata when things over there started tailspining but thats water under the bridge.

I just cant express how refreshing it would be if we went for players like the Michu's and Moussa's of the world for once (great players at a good price). Would be nice to get excited for a signing...its been far too long since I had that feeling

(I wasnt excited about Daniel when we signed him, but he's shut me up proper and I can't be happier. I just want that signing that gets the whole club buzzing in the way xabi, pepe, etc did. They weren't superstar names, but we knew that they were good players and we paid good value for them)

  49. This is exactly what I'm talking about:

If we had got Dzsudzsak I would have been very excited. Not a superstar but a very exciting player. (obviously hoping we weren't about to pay anything more than 12mil for him)

  50. Skertel seems to have his ups and downs. When on form he is good, but not great. If he were to be sold in the future, I for one would not be too disgruntled. Letting him go now would not seem smart as Carra will struggle to play too many games. However, come summer, skertel and Reina need to move on as they seem to be stagnating. Change might also breath life into their careers

    ReplyDelete
  51. It has been shown that skrtel is our weakest link in defence.A good season doesnt make him perfect. We definitly need a defender in the mould of carragher.Someone with leadership capabilities and able to cope with pressure.I don't quite agree coates shd be sold.He needs the guidance of carragher.i believe coates cn succeed given the right nurturing as he is still young.Letting him go wld be a mistake. Its the same with coutinho. He came with a lot of hype.Bt what happens if coutinho fails?..Are we to judge him and throw him to the gutters?..I hope not.Give coates a chance and with the right nurturing..he can succeed.Let skrtel go.It wld be better..Just my two cents worth of thoughts.

  52. Amorebieta? Christ, no! no! no! I live in Bilbao and have watched him play for years. He's more of a liability than any CB Liverpool have at the moment. He's mentally weak and picks up lots of cards. His behaviour in the club and 'outside' have been a cause for concern. The only Athletic player Liverpool should be looking at is Ander Herrera. Muniain isn't all he's cracked up to be and has personality issues.

  53. Hahaha, calm down there mate. If you look at my post in resonce to anteater I acknowledge that I made the Amorebieta comment blindly without taking into consideration his behavior on the pitch. Don't know how, but I totally forgot about all that. Guess I just got excited because he'd be on a bosman in the summer. Shame about Munian though...really thought he'd be able to make the grade with what I've seen him do in the past. But you're right, he's hardly lived up to his potential for a while now

  54. Why is anyone even discussing this?  whether you like Allen, Reina, Skrtel or Borini... we cant get rid of ANY. Surely everyone saw what happened when we failed to replace our squad last summer. What happens if Agger or Carra get injured? which is a possibility given the injuries of late. and who's going to step in? Coates ... Kelly ... Wisdom? think I would rather Skrtel.

If they want him they can have him in the summer. He just cant leave now.

    End of.

  55. SELL OUT MARTIN SKRTEL AND REPLACE WITH MATTS HUMMELLS.He is more younger and briliant player who can assist or score the goal.

  56. We surely need a very good Central defender . In fact it should have been done before the transfer window slam shut. Sad to say but our beloved club is run by FSG. We are broke !!!  We barely have a squad. We sold without replacing. N not going for super good n affordable deals just makes it frustrating even more. Moussa Sissoki to Newcastle on the cheap is a no brainer on our end, We lack muscle n skill alone wont be enough. We should learn from recent games against Stoke n Man U.
