'Big clubs want him' - LFC chase €6m star hailed by Man Utd hero Schmeichel

The Agent of Liverpool target Jores Okore has admitted that the player is seeking a a move away from Nordsjaelland during the January transfer window.

Liverpool were linked with a move for the 20-year old centre-back during last year's January transfer window, and according to reports this week, the Reds are back in the hunt, and are among a 'host of clubs from England' (including Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle and Fulham) chasing Okore.

Speaking to Calciomercato last night, Nikola Juric - Okore's Agent - refused to reveal whether negotiations are currently taking place with any particular club, but he confirmed that the £5m-rated Dane is definitely considering a move. He explained:

"Jores would like to prove himself in more competitive leagues. It could happen in January or in the summer. He is an intelligent guy and a model professional.

"The only thing I can say for sure, is that any choice won't be made for economic reasons. We seek a project and not the money. "

Juric also claimed recently that 'many big clubs' want Okore, including 'half of the Premier League.

Alas, Liverpool may not have much chance of signing Okore though as he seems to have his heart set on joining Chelsea. After Nordsjaelland's Champions League defeat to Chelsea in October 2012, the youngster hailed the Premier League as 'one of the best in the world', adding:

"Chelsea are my favourite team and I would love to play for them in the future. Every player dreams of playing for Chelsea and I am no exception."

Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel is a big fan of Okore, and in October 2012 he told Sky Sports:

"I've already mentioned him [Okore] to Sir Alex, of course. I think everybody who's watched him play, who has contacts in various clubs around has just kept an eye on this fellow, because he is something."

After losing out on Veggard Forren, perhaps Okore could be a possible option at centre-back?
