In December 2010, new Liverpool FC signing Oussama Assaidi had a hand in all six goals as Heerenveen hammered reigning champions FC Twente 6-2. The 24 year old Moroccan - who is set to sign in at Anfield this week after passing a medical - scored a fantastic hat-trick and provided assists for the other three goals. Hopefully, Assaidi can show similar goalscoring form for Liverpool.
I think it's safe to assume that after failing to land Cristian Tello, Assaidi is Brendan Rodgers' back-up plan for the wide-left position.
The good thing is that, unlike Tello, Assaidi is an experienced, established player, which hopefully means he can go straight into the first team.

Good player, only 3 mil an cheap wages worth a try but he looks really good :) both footed as well an good crossing :)
ReplyDeleteFrom my impression via you tube , I saw a kind of ronaldoness about him (not saying he is going to be the next Ronaldo) It starting to get bit exciting with these left field signings. It gonna be very interesting to see how the team gels together.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant purchase by Brendon Rodgers, very fast, skillfull winger, tricks, crosses, pacy and can score a goal....EPL will be a huge step up from the Eredevesie though...all the same, these are the types of players we need...unknown to players in the EPL,should be a bonus for us in the games Assaidi will play. And,who in the media picked up on this purchase....done the LIVERPOOL WAY...in private!!!
ReplyDeleteyoutube is about as reliable as you kanwar, not very good
ReplyDeleteJust seen on Sky he signed, dont know of him, yes Jaimie i'd say he is the backup to losing the Tello loan deal, presume he will be a squad player, hopefully at the expense of joke hole.
ReplyDeleteLooks Like another Suarez, very tricky player, can make something happen out of nothing.
ReplyDeleteAnother player the know it all media missed, BR doing business the right way!!!
ReplyDeleteJaimie, here is a much better Video, if you want to embed it.

Time for Cole, Downing, Henderson and Adam to put in their transfer requests. Or get used to warming the bench. reality check for these overpaid spoilt brats
ReplyDeleteAt least its the end of Downing..Henderson..and especially Adam....hopefully another striker signed soon and that will mean Carroll out aswell and jobs a good one by BR
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very good and shrewd purchase. Never mind if he was a back up to Tello's deal. Appears to be a very skillful and technically gifted player. In tight situations, seems to hold the ball well and wiggles his way out well. At 3m, it would be a steal if he adapts well to the EPL fast and furious plays.
ReplyDeleteNot the end for Downing, as Rodgers seems to rate him. Henderson will likely be used as back up or competition for central mid, and Adam, why all the hate for these three after just one bad season where everybody in a red shirt was pretty much pants? We had an awful 2012/13, so what. If Rodgers rates them, and can use them to the betterment of the club, they can stay as far as I'm concerned.
ReplyDeleteif he can step up to the premier league and bring that form he will be a cracking signing. It looks like he will be able to link up with Suarez, Borini and Gerrard and create some havoc.
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot to like about this signing, we definitely need more strength in depth, this fella looks to have plenty of potential, can't imagine us losing a cent on this one, in fact its almost a win win deal, lovely skills, pacy, intelligent, creative....im sure he'll provide us with more options now re our attacking play.
ReplyDeleteNot going to get too carried away but i like the way this guy plays, could be quite a special player in the making, here's to hoping that he settles well at the Club.
Welcome to LFC Assaidi. Best of luck!
great clip, looks good, deal seems right and 2 yrs down the road hisworth will be thirty Gs.Well done BR

ReplyDeleteBased on the footage, I have to agree with you! he has that same pace and shift kind of approach to the box! I don't want to sound stupid, but skill is skill and creativity is creativity wherever you are, and boy does this guy has plenty!
ReplyDeleteI believe if he plays with the likes of suarez, gerard and allen, then it will be very hard to keep a hold of him!
I wish that we focus on winning most of our games against the teams out of the top six, as they were the teams that cost us all our bad finishes in recent years.
Well Done BR, YNWA
Some people who started doubting a signing even before he passes medical, should be ashamed. They are no Liverpool fans. Those rats should piggyback some other clubs like City or Chelsea.
ReplyDeleteIn BR we trust! YNWA!
Very impressed with the way Liverpool have conducted themselves regarding the signing. I could not contain my excitment when I saw on the Liverpool website that we had signed him. No warning no hints. The Liverpool way.
ReplyDelete£3M is a great price! If he has a good season, say 5 goals and 5 assists the his price will quadruple. Good resale value also. The winger looks tricky, fast and with good technique.
Been put of dutch wingers ever since Babel "graced" our ground but I am looking forward to this.
Heard that Arsenal are trying to hijack the Sahin deal, I really hope we can sign this guy and move on Adam or Spearing.
Haven't looked forward to this season since the 09/10 of the back of nearly winning the league.
Low risk, high reward - finally we have a player that looks to have some pace and flair! A few more of these signings and we'll be an awful long to righting the wrongs done in the transfer market in the past 18 months
ReplyDeletewhat a brilliant kid for that sum i say kudos to our scout for the wonderful job but plz BR dont you think we need dempsey and sahin for our campaign to top 4 in premier league.
ReplyDeleteSee that there is a mention about Babel here. Well Babel came to the club with a lot of promise but ended up as a flop due mainly to Benitez who stiffed the player from expressing his skills and also the players own attitude. Under Brandan Rodgers, players will be allowed to express themselves and develop. The signing shows that Liverpool has a plan B for the players they are after. Also like the old Liverpool way of doing business, away from the media eyes and behind close doors. The flying out to Spain by Ian Ayre must be a decoy move to have everyone watch the Barca kid, Christian, who is unlikely to come to Liverpool. If the player performs as good as we have seen on YouTube than it could be the greatest buy since Sami Hippya was purchased for £2.7 million from secon division Dutch team. I think two more players will be coming in next week, Sahin from Real and the American Clint Demsey from Fulham. The Sahin deal is a formality as the special one, now known as one and only will show the kid that there is only one way and that is the route to Anfield. As for Clint, the saga could go to the last day of the season dependent on how much disruption Clint causes before the window shuts. Liverpool will eventually get him £3.5 million now or for £500 thousand in January. There will be some great bench warmers in the Liverpool team this season, Carroll, Downing, Adam and Henderson. That is £80 million worth of talent as back up, cannot wait for the season to start.
ReplyDeletesorry i meant 30 mil
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-7I3n1VurU&feature=player_embedded OH SWEET MOSES!
ReplyDeleteso impresive..hope he will be playing so great. But We Still need the Signings of Sahin..I still wish to have Tello or Ramirez
ReplyDeleteLooking at some of the crap Liverpool have been linked to on big money and big transfer fees sanity has finally prevailed i wish him well.
