Line-Up vs. Chelsea: Carroll starts; Enrique dropped. Gerrard injured..?

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has left Steven Gerrard out of his squad for tonight's game against Chelsea, but Andy Carroll retains his place after his performance in the FA Cup final.

FULL LINE UP:

Reina, Carragher, Agger, Skrtel, Johnson, Henderson, Maxi, Downing, Shelvey, Suarez, Carroll

Subs : Doni, Coates, Kelly, Spearing, Sterling, Bellamy, Kuyt

Once again, Henderson and Downing are given starting places. Why? What have the done to deserve such endless faith?

Jason McAteer is previewing the game for LFC TV at the moment, and he keeps going on about how Carroll is 'still a kid' and he's 'still learning'. FFS! Carroll is 23! He is not a 'Kid'. Sterling is a Kid; Suso and Morgan are kids; Carroll is not. The excuses people come out with are just ridiculous.

Probable formation:

-------------------------- Reina

Johnson ------- Carragher ------- Skrtel ------- Agger

----------------- Henderson -- Shelvey

Maxi ------------------- Suarez ---------------- Downing

------------------------- Carroll

OR:

-------------------------- Reina

Johnson ------- Carragher ------- Skrtel ------- Agger

Downing ---------- Henderson -- Shelvey --------- Maxi

--------------------- Suarez -- Carroll

  1. If Enrique is dropped, then surely Kelly or Coates should have got a chance, what is the point of playing Carragher?

  2. Our most important player is not in the side, what the hell are we saving him for.....end of season party?? Sterling should be starting instead of the (chicken shit) downing.  Spearing should be laying bricks some where.  Same feeling as sat....chelsea to win I'm afraid and that is based on a sensible footballing decision rather than being deluded or bias.

  3. if he can drop enrique then there shoiuld be no place for downing henderson either thank god that adam is injured best news of the season

  4. Ok, I normally don't post, but what the hell is downing doing that he is getting a game? He shouldn't even get in the squad after his performances this season. Carragher has been a liability for the last two years, so I hope this is his Anfield swansong, otherwise we'd be better of giving Coates or Kelly a run out. Also think Doni should finish off the season for us. That's not to say that I want Reina out long term , but we med to make a point to him that his form hasn't been of his usual golden glove standard and that he shouldn't take his place for granted.

  5. Maybe this could be his last game at Anfield?
As for Spearing on the bench, I think Coady should be taking his place. With the greatest of respect to the lad, he's not Liverpool quality.
Hopefully Downing & Henderson have had a boot up the 'arris and been told to shape up or they're out.

Jamie so negative as usual putting a downer on the game before even started downing Carroll hendo shelvey quality and I think we will see more of this next season ,give the lads a chance you never have a good word to say about Liverpool im sure ure a mank and to all these championship manager arm chair supporters who expect the league title in the first year of rebuilding stick to your stupid games on ya pc you morons probably to obese to to kick a ball coz u sit on ya fat arse staring a FIFA idiots give the lads a chance

  28. Dont like fifa and was a semi pro winger myself back in the 90's you thick fat twat!!!

  29. What about him? It's May! The season started 10 months ago. Liverpool are 8th in the league, and Carroll's failure in front of goal is part of the reason for that. Just because he plays well in the final week of the season doesn't mean the other 10 months never happened.

  30. ...because he is one of the best defenders our club has ever had you Tit!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Reina is absolute LIABILITY. He started the season by diving over a ball and conceding to Arsenal. Just a string of pathetic floundering; Always aways from the ball, never in a offensive position.

    He needs to GO.

The sooner i see the back of him, the more sure our defence and club will be!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. well all our negativity has back fired on you sorry were winning 4 1 lol

    ReplyDelete
  33. yeah kennys lost the plot maybe we should be winning 5 1 instead of 4 1 like we are at the moment lol

  37. Chelsea to win, you predicted?
Who needs shot between the ears now?

  38. reina is a liability? Biggest load of tosh I have ever heard. He is a top quality goal keeper and is not in the slightest responsible for our failures this season. Your obviously a complete idiot. Downing and spearing should be sold, Hendo will most definitely come good, keep adam (9 assists 2 goals) - contributed to a quarter of our goals. Lucas will be back (awesome - had yaya toure in his pocket when we played them earlier in the season). Carrol will also come good, he's only 22 and needs the confidence and coaching with his positioning and finishing. Maxi out...id keep kuyt but he'll leave. 2 wingers, 1 midfielder, 1 striker and we are golden. Cant wait to see a bit more of raheem, he is gonna be quality and also suso will maybe be brought to the firsts. The future is bright whether kenny is there or not...but id give him another season for sure.

  39. Rafa brought both Shelvey & Sterling to the club, NOT Dalglish.

Correct but it does show what he is capable of, its the future we have to be thinking about.

  42. Its funny how some people come out of the wardrobe for one game, sorry but please tell me the importance of last nights game and how chelsea did us a massive favour with their sunday league goalkeeper!! WHERE ARE WE IN THE LEAGUE BOYZ COZ I CANNOT SEE THAT FAR DOWN...ONE POXY MEANINGLESS WIN AND FANS LIKE U GET ALL EXCITED. SAD, EMBARRASSING and DESPERATE!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. So that makes u a super tit right for coming onto the site!!! Hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  44. Its about the short term as well as the long term.

  45. Generally has been a top keeper but this season, he has made quite a few big mistakes such as the City away, Fulham away, Norwich home, West Brom home, Chelsea, Spurs away, Arsenal home and of course, the stupidity shown against Newcastle away. I'm afraid, he is at least the 'slightest' bit responsible for our failings.

    ReplyDelete
  46. That's one of the most daft comments i have seen for a long time. We beat the team who just beat us in the cup final, when they have made 8 changes and clearly are not up for the game. If you are that desperate to celebrate something, surely there is something else more worthwhile than a win that gets us up to 8th in the table?

    ReplyDelete
  47. He's been waiting for an excuse to tell everyone how well the season has gone for ages. Says it all that it has taken about, on average, three weeks before he could put that post out at various points of the season. Didn't notice seeing it when Fulham came and beat us last week.

    ReplyDelete
  48. and maybe we should 4th in the league instead of 8th.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Time to move him on, i think. Paul Robinson, experienced but young enough to have a few seasons, probably costing half the price, and not far off Reina's ability at his best and better than what we've seen from Reina this season. And costing half the amount, allowing us to invest in other areas of the team, like a decent playmaker.
