Algerian attacking midfielder Ryad Boudebouz has confirmed once again that he wants to leave Sochaux, which could be good news for Liverpool, who are surely in the market for a goal-scoring attacking midfielder.
Liverpool have been linked Boudebouz several times over the last year, and last summer, the coveted winger confirmed that the Reds had enquired about his services:
"Liverpool are a big club and there has been contact, But I have to take my time, see the [Sochaux] president, discuss things through".
Boudebouz met with the Souchauz President soon after that, and then publicly confirmed that he wanted to go to another club. Since then, Sochaux's fortunes have not really improved, and the club finished 14th in France's ligue 1 this season, which prompted Boudebouz to once again reaffirm this week that he wants to leave::
"I still have a two-year contract [with Sochaux], but I want to leave"
If €20m-rated Boudebouz definitely wants to leave, then hopefully Liverpool will explore the possibility of signing him. Despite the club's atrocious league form last season, a move to Anfield would surely be a step-up from toiling away in the bottom half of the French league...

ReplyDeleteyou and what manager
ReplyDeleteNot worth it for that price. Another risk. Would rather target experienced players like granero at real madrid. Keita at barcelona. Chivu out of contract at inter. Unless we mix it up and buy potential and seasoned pros? The hot prospects in Europe that would be a lift to the fans are players like hazard, Ramirez, Christian eriksen, van de wiel, iker Munson, javi Martinez, moussa sissoko, yann mvila, Diego perotti, jordi alba bla bla bla!!! We won't get one of them the way it's going right now. We need manager in ASAP so we have an idea of what is attainable.
ReplyDeleteComoli spoke to the Sochaux President about him last November.
ReplyDeleteNothing came about in January.
Comoli has gone and I am sure a new manager will have other targets anyway.
What is attainable is what we got before Kenny returned .
ReplyDeleteNamely Gutless mercenary’s mixed with tokens & fashion statements who will win nothing & will return us to the joys of relegation battling if not outright Yo Yoing between the divisions .
Jamie,
ReplyDeleteNot at this price but more importantly LFC needs to look at both thechnical ability and mentality. This guy does not chase and lacks a winning mentality.
If FSG have ear-marked 30 million and we can offload Maxi, Kuyt, Cole and Acquaman for 20 million, we can bring in 5 outstanding players with 3 excellent understudies. In my view, in France, FSG's targets should be Belhanda (Montpillier), Hamouma (Caen) and Niang (Caen). The last one is for the future.
There is also a need for a verstile player in the defensive area and I urge FSG to go for Jan Vertonghen (Ajax) who can be deployed as CB as well as DM. Of course, if money is available, my 1st choice would be Javi Martinez of Bilbao. We still need to get Diame on Bosman.
If we add Griezman (Sociedad) or Canales (Valencia) in midfield and Luuk De Jong (AZ) up front we will have a team that can compete.
All this requires urgent decision on the Managerial and Director of Sport positions which needs to be fast tracked. We need to do our business in the transfer market so that we are not left with left overs!
No player will even consider coming to a managerless team, let alone with Yanks with no football acumen at the helm at LFC
ReplyDeleteTell you what Jamie either apply for the job as Liverpool manager, or stop putting up daft stories. Who should sign him? Ian Ayre???? We won't sign players until either the technical director or manager are appointed.
ReplyDeleteVertonghehn is heading for Spurs.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't like this site, leave.
ReplyDeleteYour articles are terrible .. I know now why you constantly criticize Liverpool, because it's all you're good at. If you're going to write an article about a possible Liverpool signing at least make sure there's a link. You write the same garbage everyday. How did you get a website with over 4,762 facebook likes I've never understand.
ReplyDeleteTouchy subject eh ?
ReplyDeleteWe should be able to compete with Spurs as long as he i s not targetted by a Champions League club.
ReplyDeleteHis answer is normally to ban everybody with a different opinion to himself . I was banned like 15 times lol
ReplyDeleteAnd your video isn't even working!!
ReplyDeleteHe has stated he prefers Spurs to Arsenal so not necessarily
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't you write an article about Guardiola? something interesting..
ReplyDeleteIf you are talking about FSG, you are simply wrong. FSG bought Liverpool, not to return us to "joys" of relegation, they want us to succeed. They are not gutless mercenary's, in fact, by sacking a legend of the club, they have proved just the opposite of being gutless. The fact is that 3 years into their ownership of the Boston Red Sox, the Red Sox won their first World Series in over 80 years and have since proved it's not a one-off. They are businessmen and Liverpool is a business. For that reason alone, they are going to do their best to bring Liverpool back to where we belong and that's top of the table. I have said this before, but I will say it again. Had we of finished 8th and only 5 points out of the top 4, Dalglish wouldn't have been sacked, it was the fact that we finished 8th and so many points off, we were 12 back of Chelsea who were 6th. That by anybody's standards is not good enough
ReplyDeleteBetter yet, keep Maxi, Kuyt, Cole and Aquilani, they could still play an important role for us next season. We had one of the best defences last season, so we don't need to mess with the defence, we created numerous chances, so we don't really need to mess with midfield and plus, it gives the chance for youngsters like Sterling to come through, Shelvey will play a big role next season and Lucas will be like a new signing. The only role we really need to buy a player is up front and we can get a very good striker for around the 30 million mark. But we should also give Carroll another chance, he was coming good towards the end of the season, we really only need one, maybe two signings to turn from an upper-mid table side last season to fighting for the Champion's League places again
ReplyDeleteWhere are you getting these ridiculous figures...If MARVIN MARTIN the best player on the team is available for under 10m !!! how is Boudebouz going to cost 20m.
ReplyDeleteDimitri Payet went for 12m , Cabaye the Lille captain went for under 10m
FC Sochaux, had an awful season and they have some excellent players available at reasonable prices.
I would bite your hand off if we were offered Boudedouz and Martin... Now if we spent 20m on Andre Ayew i would not complain @ all, or even Belhanda.
Gaz,
ReplyDeleteI wish what you are saying was true but the problems up front are reflections of the lack of creative players in midfield. If we want to move upwards, FSG will need to invest in several areas and 'UEFA financial fair-play' rules means this summer is the right window to get things right.
If Maxi, Kuyt, Cole and Aquilani go beyond this summer, LFC will not get good value for them in the market. They clearly are not part of LFC's future. That is why LFC need to bring in 4 or 5 good young players now.
As for the defensive area, we cannot continue to rely on Lucas alone. We need a DM and it would be good to get Diame on free but we need to get a versatile player like Javi Marinez or Jan Vertonghen as well that can play CB and DM positions (for when Agger get injured!). I think, with the right inducements Vertonghen can be attracted to LFC but we need to move quick!
I agree, up front we need a 4 man attack and we need to bring in Luuk De Jong now!
Cheers!
Why do you bother posting on here? I suspect you don't actually support Liverpool; just here to stick the knife in. Can you do us all a favour and go elsewhere please; I'm tired of wading through your negative bile?
ReplyDeleteIgnore Brehon; nothing constructive to say.
ReplyDeleteWe need a Manager first.
ReplyDeleteBut that is the thing, Marvin Martin isn't the best player on the team, its actually Boudebouz lol. Boudebouz single saved Sochaux from relegation by assisting two goals in the second to last game then scored an amazing volley against marseille in the last game. People only think Martin is better because he is a "french" international while boudebouz is an "algerian" international. However, Boudebouz developed in the French system. Also, Boudebouz is two years young.
ReplyDeleteAs for the 20m, i'll admit that is an exaggeration, I wouldn't be totally surprise if a club does offer that much for him since they did add 2 years on his contract so that raises the value of a player considerably.
Hes allready said he doesnt want to go to liverpool, as he feels they are a small club and beneath him!! he thinks totenham are a much better team and have a better chance to get into the champions league and something about liverpool dont have any chance of making the champions league in the next 10 years, oh well, i hear kieron dyer is available for 25million!! m.c.t.d
ReplyDelete20 mil for a player with only 3 mins of highlights for a whole season no ta, look at carrols, hendersons and downing highlight vids from their previous clubs, we loose so many games simply because we pass back and defensively so often thats the reason for the 3rd best goals against in the league and the reason for hitting the post so often most the shots were taken a good few minutes after countering so the shots were taken with a hin and hope through their defence leading to alot of shots missed and hitting the post, we just need a manager that doesnt play the defensive keep posestion tactics, if we can keep gerrard, lucas, and suarez fit and not banned all season and play fast attacking football we dont need no new players
ReplyDeletesign the boy pliz.will play wekll with suarez
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely bang on mate! perhaps a couple of decent full backs too.
ReplyDeletetwat
ReplyDelete£30M for one player you hope will solve a "problem" - hardly!
ReplyDeleteYou are quite right. Sochaux were looking at 5-6 million for him a few months back so £20M is off the dial!
ReplyDeleteAs far as I can tell, the BRS won it twice, the last time was five years ago, their stadium is smaller than Anfield, they recently sacked their manager and their fans are blaming LFC for the lack of investment in their 'franchise'.
ReplyDeleteAll is not as rosy over there as you would like us to think.
... and that's a sport FSG are supposed to be experts in!
