€15m LFC target with 39 goals/assists admits: "I want to leave" - Bid?

In March, the Agent of Anderlecht striker Matias Suarez confirmed that he'd held talks with Liverpool FC over a potential move to the Premier League, and now, the Argentinean attacker has confirmed that he wants to leave Belgium this summer, which could open the door to renewed interest from the Reds.

Speaking to Argentine radio station Cadena 3 earlier today, Suarez - who has grabbed 20 goals and 19 assists for Anderlecht this season - admitted:

"Anderlecht want me to stay until after the Champions League qualifiers, but I want to move on. I want to move to a bigger club in a better league. My agents are dealing with it at the moment"

Suarez has been linked with Liverpool several times over the last six months, and in his Agent, Jorge Cyterzpiler, recently confirmed that he had "spoken with Liverpool" about a possible transfer.

Cyterzpiler also hinted that his client would leave in the summer, and this was later confirmed by Anderlecht General Manager Herman van Holsbeeck.

The €15m-rated 23 year old has an excellent record of 47 goals and 40 assists in 157 games for Anderlecht so far, which equates to a goal or assist every 1.8 games.

Luis Suarez came from the Eredivise, which is arguably on a similar level of quality to the Belgian league, and he took to England very quickly. Perhaps the Uruguayan's namesake could do the same.

  1. He is linked with Bayern Munich and don't think Liverpool can compete with them rightnow.

  2. There are many good players around the world, that won't cost a fortune. We need scouts to get their fingers out and start bringing in good players, not reading who is the latest superstar in the papers. We have been too lazy and this must change, the players are there if we get out and find them, ala Newcastle last summer!!!

  3. Never say never. If we can get a high profile manager anything is possible.

  4. This is why we need to bring in a new manager ASAP, players such as Suarez, De Jong and a few others are available but if we don't appoint someone for the managers job soon we will miss out on them.

  5. we wont get a high profile manager. it obvious FSG going for young and cheap.  we are becoming a joke. every season we are falling further and further down the pecking order. there is also only so long our history will keep us a worldwide brand leader, so each year our revenue will go down as other prem clubs expand.

  7. Very true. The scouts have to start earning their money. Theres nothing clever in throwing tens of millions at talent that have already been spotted.

  8. As there is no manager as of this date then no Suarez the second will be coming to LFC. If he has spoken to anyone at LFC about a transfer they have left the club and a new manager will have his own list of players he wants.

  9. Never seen him play but we certainly do need another striker. I do agree with those about a manager/DoF in place
