LFC Legend slams 'pathetic' & 'indefensible' Liverpool players. Is he right?

It's the morning after the train wreck of the night before, and the reality of Liverpool's embarrassing capitulation against QPR is beginning to hit home. It's still hard to understand how the team threw the game away, but one thing is certain: the club's defending for the three goals was atrocious, and Liverpool legend David Fairclough believes that the time for excuses is over, and insists that it's time to get 'harsh' with the players.

Summarising the game for LFC TV, a clearly shell-shocked Fairclough slammed the 'glaring' defensive mistakes made by Kenny Dalglish's players:

"Once again a lesser club has toppled us, and that's the sort of thing that makes you mad. Those goals were ridiculous. There's no excuses for anybody. It was indefensible, and they should know better.

"You've got to be harsh - they're paid an awful lot of money; they're supposed to be at the top of the tree, and they make stupid mistakes.

"What Enrique did for the third goal was schoolboy stuff. When Skrtel headed the ball he should've been aware of the danger, but it was a pathetic effort to clear the ball, and you can't excuse that"

I don't think I've ever seen the normally mild-mannered Fairclough so angry with Liverpool's players. Even under Roy Hodgson, he didn't slate them to this degree, but the truth is, no matter how people try and spin it, results under Dalglish are *worse* than under Hodgson.

I agree with Fairclough - you have to be harsh. The defending was a complete joke.

* How did Henderson lose Derry for the first goal? He was following him in the box but all it took to lose Henderson was a standard darting run forward. It was a fatal lack of concentration/awareness.

* What was Skrtel doing for the second goal? It was like his feet were nailed to the floor. Watching it again, I just can't understand how Cisse wins the header. Skrtel is goal-side of Cisse at the start of the move; he has plenty of time to watch the flight of the ball, but at the crucial moment, Skrtel failed to jump and head it away, and Cisse ghosted in from behind and scored the goal. Inexplicable.

* As Fairclough says, Enrique's attempt to clear the ball orior to the third goal was pathetic. Once again, he could see everything that was happening yet he failed to anticipate the header, and wasn't quick enough to react to the danger.

Pepe Reina has to take a large portion of blame too IMO. Like so many other times this season, he made no effort to make saves for the first two goals, he just half-heartedly flailed his arms without breaking sweat, and then proceeded to blame the defence.

Alongside Fairclough, Mark Wright tried to be positive by highlighting that Liverpool 'controlled the game for 75 minutes', but he also slammed the players for throwing the game away:

"They [the players] got ot be knocked on the head and told 'you've got to do better than this'. Conceding these sort of goals is unacceptable if Liverpool want to get into the Champions League".

-----------

Reminder: Anyone who personally insults Dalglish or any of the players will be banned. Criticise, but do so in a civil manner. The same applies to banter with fellow posters: No insults please.

HAVE YOUR SAY:
Should Kenny be embarrassed by this shocking celebration of mediocrity?

  1. Drop the whole defense, give flanagan, robinson, coates, and wilson a chance. Reina didn't look like he cared, should be dropped as well. Give shelvey, sterling, morgan, and suso a chance, they deserve it. We aren't playing for 4th place anymore.

  2. Agreed, let's blood some of the young uns we have been hearing so much about (except Flanagan) and build for next season and put some of the deadwood under notice. I can't believe we still have 'deadwood' though after 3 managers we are still carrying so much baggage.

  3. yes you r right.... dont know what the heck daglish doing.... give the youngsters a chance....

  4. More of the ex players trying to get Kenny off the hook. Do I think that some of Kenny's signings were poor, certainly! Do I think another manager would have got more out of them, most definitely! On that basis, the manager needs to move on. He is the biggest obstacle to the club getting back to where it should be and he needs to do the decent thing and move upstairs. I hope the board are drawing up a short list, although it doesn't sound as if they are. I wonder about their motives or their understanding of the game if they are not considering making a change.

I've thought Reina is weak and overrated for some time. Don't think his heart is really in it anymore and I think he lacks presence in the box.

  5. According to Kenny the league doesn't matter this season as we have won the Carling Cup and are close to winning the FA cup. There you go.... Why should we care when results like these that keep happening again and again will keep happening again and again.

  6. I'd rather have flanagan over carra at right back anyday. That is if both johnson and kelly are injured, aren't they?

  7. Another dark night of absolute humiliation and
embarrassement by Kenny Dalglish and his squad, the squad he has personally
chosen and set up for the current season. Kenny Dalglish and his squad tarnish
the heritage that Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley left for this historic club.
Kenny Dalglish and his squad are committing the biggest crime in this club's
history by molesting on this heritage. Everybody is feeling fed up by listening
and reading all the time different irrational statements by the side of Kenny
Dalglish as he can persuade first and above all himself that under him the team
is progressing! Everytime he leads this team to another humiliating and
embarrassing defeat he needs to realize that he places a gravestone to LFC
fans' dreams and expectations in all over the world to see their beloved team
returning back to where it really deserves to be! I personally can't explain it
otherwise; Kenny Dalglish is on a denial stage! He doesn't realize that by not
seeing the raw reality, that he is not a capable manager for the modernized
football and the manager who can turn the fortunes of this club around and as
long as he behaves in a selfish manner he causes a serious damage! Back in 1991
he stepped down as LFC manager in a period which that was unnecessary and now
that it is imperative to do so, why doesn't him? ISN'T THAT A REAL PROOF OF A
    SELFISH, EGOISTIC, AND ARROGANT BEHAVIOR?

  8. I think the players should take some responsibility, or at least kenny needs to start being harsh. I think he's doing the right thing tactically, the first 75 minutes is proof of that.

I agree 100 & with David Fairclough , we should clear out the rubbish at the end season starting with Reina , Carra , Johnson , Adam,  Henderson , Downing , Carrol , Kuyt , Kenny should also throw in towel and quit as he is making too many excuses for his failure in reprimanding mediocre players he bought

  12. Agree with the analysis of the defencive errors. They were truly awful errors and i agree Reina hasnt been making th saves we saw from him in the first few seasons, lets hope he hasnt lost his appetite for playing for LFC.

The thing that got to me the most was the reaction or lack of it once the first QPR goal went in. It seemed to be a case of 'oh well, nevermind we are winning anyway'. There should have been an immediate responce with players being extremly angry at the goal going in and it should have motivated the players to step up a couple of gears, as lets be honest until then they were running in about 2nd gear at most.

However instead we saw more of the lethagy and lack of clinical edge that has plagued us all season. Gerrard should have taken control and made sure we completly starved QPR of possession and when they got frustrated and over commited to winning the ball back then look to get in behind.  Instead we just played a few passes around before trying the hollywood pass or by trying to thread the ball threw gaps that were not there. It was so niave towards the end that it was a joke.

We already have a Europa league spot (not sure if thats a good thing or not) so i believe we should really just use the rest of the league campaign to blood some of the young talent at the club. Coates needs games, Shelvey needs game, Flanagan and then also being some of the young talent in even to use on the bench such a Sterling, Suso and Coady. Rest the senior players for the cup and try and make sure we get something good out of the rest of the league campaign by developing these talents so they are ready for next season.

  13. jamie, another top notch article mate!! ;) i don't know how you do it!! i love the fact, that almost the entire article, concentrates on the minor negatives from the game, which in my opinion, where a few silly individual errors, which can easily be eradicated!! skyrtl and Enrique messed up, but, you dont touch on  the fact, that they have been immense this season for us!! they not much better, in the prem, in their positions, than them two!! I also love the fact, that the positives of the game, how we bossed it for 75 mins, the great passin, which is the complete opposite spectrum, to Hodgson, which you mentioned, where only touched upon, in one fleetin sentance!! fair, and honest writing, at it's best matey!!

  14. This summer needs a massive clear out!   Kenny, Adam, Johnson, Kuyt, Maxi, Cole, Aqua all neeed moving on!  and a new keeper needs signing that can actually push ahead of Reina!

  16. Totally agree with gabweb. Kenny needs to go before it gets worse. Truth is who will replace him. His management of the players has been down right pathetic at times, too much passing in and around the box when the direct approach at certain times would be better. His management transpires to the players which explains the reasons for the results. As for Reina, he's been given free entry use to start every match which should never have happened. One on one he is pathetic, at penalties he is pathetic, at crosses he is becoming even more pathetic, and commanding within the box is pathetic. Why couldnt we have utilised the role of the sub keeper more often this season i don't know

  17. We've had one of the best defences in the league up until yesterday and now people start moaning ... what a joke! We were playing QPR of the park for 75 min. and had Suarez or Downing been a bit more clinical QPR would have been buried - they werent, we lost concentration and were punished for it but 15 min. doesn't mean doom and gloom. I do agree with some comments that we should blood a few youngsters given that 4th spot is now out of reach and we are quaranteed a european spot. In addition I think Reina needs a break to sort his head (and heart out) and start working on commanding his 6-yard box in training .... a large part of Crouch's goal for Stoke was also due to his lack of this.

  18. More Knee jerk reaction from so called fans!!!!!!! Bad 15 minutes and the world is ending for LFC, get a grip people!

  19. I watched and listened to Davie Fairclough after the game too and you have decided to use only the comments that fit your agenda of lambasting Dalglish. Very poor effort in my opinion to target a club legend in this way.

  20. Once we where 2-0 up, the players thought the game was won, and where more interested in what they were going to do after the game, shopping, going for a bevy etc. Reina is out of form, needs to be dropped. Henderson should have been dropped months ago, same with Adam. Downing is a squad player at best. Skrtel just went to sleep. The current first choice team seam to be able to get away with anything with out being dropped. If I was a reserve or squad player I would be talking to my agent to get me a move. There has been loads of games where players have consistently under performed, and no one has been given the chance to step up and earn a start on merit. I would not call the season a complete disaster, as we are rebuilding, but this blind loyalty to certain players needs to stop. At the start of the season, I did think challenging for 4th was a bit optimistic considering who we bought, but I thought we would be a bit more consistent than the season before but it looks like we are going backwards because of the untouchables.

  21. Do you mean play the team that got beat 6-0 by Ajax kids last week??? All not ready yet, too weak. Kenny gotta stop being negative, because thats the real problem, Suarez was running the show, then he took him of because QPR Scored a goal, and went defensive, therefore allowed them to put on pressure!

SACK HIM...and at the same time get rid of Adam, Carroll, Henderson and Downing! That was £80 mill well spendt, NOT!

Meireles and Aquilani are pure quality,
why did he push them out of the club?
Meireles was fantastic last season why could`t he get a renewed contract as promised?
Aquilani was by far our best player tru hole preseason and twice the player Adam will ever be, why send him out on loan?

  25. Yeah, he was going to be harsh after Bolton, but we got the Sunderland performance, presumably he would have been harsh after that, but we got this one. He is clueless as to how to control, manage or motivate the modern footballer and his tactics and philosophy are from another era. He simply is not up to the job. First 75 minutes? How about the entire season? How about being 3 points ahead of Swansea? Even Wigan and Wolves have probably had a decent 75 minutes here and there, and probably not even they have managed to lose from that position!

Our players are spineless chokers and serial letdown merchants, Dalglish needs to GO hes a total clown and the squad needs ripping up! get Rafa back or go for someone like Riikjard!....who built the foundations for the current Barca team.
But none of this will happen, the fans will still be chanting 'Dalglish' etc, we weill lose in the semi or final, Dalglish will be given another 100million and WILL waste it on more dross, maybe just maybe action will be taken when we are sitting about 10th in the table at Christmas after losing 0-1 at home to Bolton or scraping a 0-0 at home with Fulham.  At the moment LFC is in terminal decline and you know what....as action is not being taken....we deserve all we get!.

  33. For a top side, the standards are, need and expected to be better then 'b-b-b-b-but we played really well for 75 minutes'. Who the hell cares if we played well for 75 minutes, when we end up losing 3-2. What sort of weak crappy apologist mentality is that. I guess its a mentality that illustrates why we are in such a mediocre league position of 7th. Sad that this is the kind of mentality seems to have been bred from the lack of success, hence the lowering standards by some fans. A top team simply doesn't put up with losing a game 3-2, after going 2-0 up, regardless of how they play for most of the game and how the goals came about.

    ReplyDelete
  34. As a team, we seem to lose our concentration far too easily against 'lesser teams'. Its like the players think they don't have to be switched on all the time against 'lesser teams'.

It is simply pathetic how we seem to only turn it on in the big games (same problem under Rafa most of the time too, so its not only a go at KK) and cup games. Are we some small team that gets excited when the big games come and turn it on then? That is what it seems like with the mentality shown by the players.

I find it disrespectful, weak and arrogant the way they players seem to just want to turn it on in the big games.

Please KK, at least criticise the players once in a while in public, instead of coming out with 'bad luck', 'don't know how to explain it', etc. Not saying every time we drop points you should criticise them publicly but once in a while, to let the players and fans know there are high standards expected at the club. They need to feel the pressure, standards and expectations publicly from time to time. Given them too easy a ride.

  35. Would anybody like to see Rafa given another chance in charge?  Tactically he is a genius and with funds from the new owners it would be interesting to see the team he would build.  The reserves etc were started by Rafa so he can continue his good work on that too.

Can't you just go and "support" somebody else because you're certainly not supporting Liverpool here. You should become Chelsea fans, they don't keep faith with their managers for too long, a few defeats you'd all be wanting another manager sacked. Idiots like the people on here are like the ones who phone in radio stations at the start of the season saying Liverpool will win the league and embarress us all.

  39. Some of the abuse towards Kenny is way OTT.......i understand that people are angry but still....

Anyway, i think Fairclough is right, individual defensive errors in part cost us that game, but my p.o.v is that this has been occuring for some time now so it comes as little surprise tbh.

Reina IMO has to shoulder most of the blame for this one, IF he is not marsahalling his defence and generally is the weakest link.....then thats not exactly beneficial to our cause, Enrique has put in some shockers also, and it ONLY takes 1 or 2 errors......for others to start panicking and then we implode.....kinda like lighting a fuse and then sitting back and watching it go off whilst pretending that you had nothing to do with it..........

I really hope FSG know exactly what is going on, i personally feel that they do and that a few of our "stars" at the Club will be shown the door this summer and we can get on with getting our Club back performing like it deserves to be.....not being hindered by underperforming players with agenda's.....

Get tough, get them OUT of the team and OUT of the Club, no one is bigger than the Club and these players have been paid handsomely for throwing games??? And in doing so letting down an entire fanbase who deserve to be rewarded for their loyal support over the years???

Im sorry but its time to sort this problem out once and for all. We deserve better, we are LFC ffs!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Have you actually got any proper and definitive proof for this little agenda you have? As you seem to make this point about 'a few players unsettling the team' story over and over again, without actually bringing anything of substance to back it up. Sorry but without it, it seems to come across as the amusing musings of a journo from The Sun.

  41. If finishing below Newcastle and probably Swansea is not the end of the world, then what is? No hope with quite a few games still left.... Villas Boas got sacked n so should Kenny. I would just like to say KD signings are not great ie adam carroll henderson but having said that we dominated the game and created lots of chances with good football like lots of other games and failed to score. If we had taken our chances the game would have been over at halftime.and thats where the problem is no goalscorer,we should be using the younger players.KD did  use them at the start why not now.

Sure trophies are good but why cant we win a trophy AND put a half decent league run on, that's what they are paid to do isn't it?? 47. I think that the powers that be need to stop trying to get the LFC of old, yes they were good years but we have not moved with the times. The pace has changed the games have changed we need a modern day manager, KK with all due respect you were a great footballer but we need a great manager.

  48. spot on,we have been poor all season,i think kenny should go now before he is pushed out the door, legend or not his managerial skills have been shocking, people need to take the tongues out of daglishes backside and wake up,we are going nowere with him in charge,i wont bother watching any more games if this is what i have to sit and watch its depressing veiwing, kenny deserves all the abuse he gets after buying downing, henderson, carroll and Adam????????what a joke

    ReplyDelete
  49. Adam was dropped for 2 games only, came back and was woeful. KD is more pig headed than Rafa when it comes to team selection, but at least rafa made a fair few players better(note many interviews with players).
We waited so long to get decent cash to spend, and then its wasted by 'the king', thats what frustrates me the most. even if one or two of the players had come good it would have been a much better season, but alas they are all out of their depth and destined to be moved on at huge losses.
KD should be ashamed of his attempt to re create blackburn and the mid 90's, he has cost this club valuable progress.
Rafa would have surely brought in , at least some decent players, with that amount of money to spend.
i just dont see a happy ending to the second coming of 'the king'.
we are not good enough to win the FA cup on current form, that means, 6th, the worthless mug and an FA semi or final. really not good enough after 100m spent.

  50. The problem was that our midfield failed to control or stop QPR's flow in the last 15-20 minutes. No good controlling the game for 75 minutes, if you don't control the last 15+. A competent midfield at a top club should be able to see out a game when they have a 2-0 lead

    ReplyDelete
  51. The hard truth is that the QPR result isn't that much of a surprise. Results over the last 3-4 seasons have shown us that, when it comes to Liverpool nowadays, anything is possible. We shouldn't really be surprised that teams from the bottom half can knock us down - its time to stop living in the past and accept the reality - the Liverpool of today is just another ordinary mid-table club, it is not the superpower that it was before. We are a team with a great past, a shaky present and an uncertain future. Kenny Daglish has done well for the club in the past but he is clearly not the man for Liverpool now and neither does he have what it takes to make the team great tomorrow.

  53. a bad night? We have had plenty of these so-called 'bad night' this season in the league. It is not going to miraculously disappear next season and somehow we will find ourselves as title challengers. Its a long term problem and belittling it by putting it down to a 'bad night', is simply wishful thinking, sadly.

  54. Agreed, Dalglish OUT now - i'm starting to resent him massively, and the only way I will restore my respect for him is when he stands down.

he has ruined this club for the next 5 years with his useless buys.
    Get out Kenny, you're crap

  58. Lost 4 won 1( against a weakened Everton side) last 5 league matches, only wolves as bad. I was watching the game, then thought someone turned the over to the Keystone Cops for the last 15 minutes. We had 3 centre halves and a goalie, yet let in 2 headed goals inside the 6 yard box, what a joke! After 2 wins, kenny goes back to a losing side, by re-instating Henderson and Adam (guess what, we lose! ) Reina should be dropped for his pathetic effort in all 3 of the goals, 6 Yards his his area, yet chooses to stand on the line, no attempt to collect or punch the ball, then flaps an arm out! How many times have we seen him run out on one on ones, only to get nutmeged? As for Enrique, well he's as bad as the rest of the crap kenny signed. Why did we go one up front against a side in the bottom 3? Why change a winning side? This team will kill off Kennys reputation. Will the yanks support him and Comolli with more cash? Very much doubt it. Looks like they will get stung on their purchases, Carroll, Adam, Henderson, Downing and Enrique, lucky to get half back on them. I love Kenny to bits, like most fans, but when he's at the game, then says he does'nt know what happened in the last 15 minutes is beyond me. It's his job to know what happened! Most of the fans know what happened and they don't get paid for it. Kenny made his bed though and has to lie on it, that's why he stubbornly defends the crap side he's created. Must get in a more modern manger with some clout in europe, before it's too late.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Our whole team is over-rated and over-paid. Our manager keeps blaming bad luck. We're closer to the bottom than the top of the league. We can't attract the best players.

I was there at Loftus Road, yes we dominated the first hour but not because
we were so good, but because QPR were so unbelievably poor. When QPR finally started playing
with no fear (with nothing to lose), we looked hopeless and clueless and clumsy (again).

Don't really feel we've moved forward.

Also agree with Stevie G comment that I have never been left this low.

Need those marquee signings (Hazard, Cavani, Keita, Kagawa, Llorente, and the likes of). Commolli and co had better start working on getting results in this department, at any cost, or else all faith will be lost for another season.

    Are you listening JWH?

  62. Higgi...................how the F can u still support KD?, Hodgson was bad!, but KD is VERY BAD!!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Fairclough is generally quite restained in his comments, but on this occasion he is right to say what he said. If Dalglish is such the legend we seem to refer to, it surely would be reflected in his     management skills. I do believe he is somewhat lacking in this dept. He has to take ultimate responsibility for the results so far. So yes it is time for people to speak up..maybe then someone will listen & start kicking arses!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Pathetic yesterday, they barely even exerted any pressure to get the 3 goals. It wasn't back to the walls, it was just surrender.

Dalglish needs to start getting harsh with these players. It is all well and good backing them publicly but he really needs to start getting tough now, behind the scenes. Don't think he helped by taking Suarez off but by the same token, at 2-0 the team should have been able to see out the game and we could have given him a rest.

Still not worse than Hodgson though- Dalglish won a trophy and has us in 8th and playing decent football rather than Roy having us in the bottom half playing dire stuff. Why you defend Hodgson at every turn I'll never know. He got some rough treatment and had some poor circumstances not of his making but he got EVERYTHING wrong. All the things in his control were handled badly, bar the signing of Meireles.

Dalglish's points per game this season is still better than Hodgson's (1.4 compared to 1.25) and whilst that isn't impressive considering the money spent, there is no point just skewing things in Roy's favour. Dalglish should be doing much, much better but is still doing far better than Roy. If you include the record Dalglish had last season, the points per game is better still. Also Dalglish is behind Newcastle and Tottenham sides that are much stronger than last year.

It doesn't really require 'spin' to say results under Hodgson were worse than under Dalglish. I know you hold our managers to a high standard, which is admirable and honours the winning traditions of the club, but the lightness of your criticism of Hodgson (compared with Rafa and Kenny), even in light of extenuating factors, is baffling.

I must say that I think blaming Reina is harsh. He didn't do brilliantly but I wouldn't say he 'has to take a large portion of the blame'. He tends to stay on his feet in one on ones which means when it doesn't work, he doesn't look like he has done anything, but many times he gets into these positions and it fazes the striker and they either hit it at him or knock it wide or try to take him on and run the ball too wide.

    ReplyDelete
  65. And may well be lucky just to remain there if we keep this up.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Lot of people seem to be focusing on the silly mistakes for the goals, which is fair but I think the midfield were a let down in the last 15 minutes. Barely did anything to control the game in that period or ease the pressure on the defence. It was like the Bolton game but in 15 minutes. You defend from the front or at least from midfield and defend also by keeping the ball, which they didn't do.

    ReplyDelete
  67. NO!...simple. Some seem to have a likeminded 'blind faith' in Rafa also. Have people forgotten some of the 'genius' decisions made by him.

    ReplyDelete
  68. so fans have nade up their mind and KK is not for us anymore. so what now, who do we go for? do we go for a manager from another country? we have seen that most managers that come to the prem need time to adjust, benitez needed it, the fact he won the CL in his first season was a big step in getting him the time to try and get it right in the league. AVB needed it, ramos, remeber him for seville; absolutely awsome, remeber him for tottenham!!! Even mancini with 400 mil to spend has needed time. So do we go and get someone who is doing well overseas, give him a limited budget to sign players from his native country only to change everything around again to end up in the same situation or do we try and get someone from the premiership? At the moment, I am still sticking with KK as it is better the devil you know and I do feel he will get it right. But if we do change to a new manager, who will it be? Martin Oneil? probaly not or maybe  brendan rogers? He is probably the only person who i would take a punt at as the next one after them to is probabyl hodgson!!!!! and we all know how that went. All I say is when fans have got what they have wanted and KK out, remember the next manager will be installed not by fans as they had their say unanimously with KK, so you may find they take a gamble on someone unknown!!!

  71. If last night's performance was an example of the 'progress' Dalglish says we have made, then God help us ! I started supporting Liverpool when Phil Taylor was the manager and was a koppite until age took its toll and I retired to the luxury of the stands. I resent so called 'true fans' saying that because I have the audacity to register a criticiscm I am not a fan ! Believe me, I have been there, seen it, done it and got most of the t-shirts. So 'kop' this all you Johnny cum lately's. Bill Shankly was an absolute icon. He oozed charisma. He coined the phrase that the Kop was like having a 12th man on the field, sadly the last time the 12th man made an appearance was in Istanbul ! Bob Paisley and Joe Fagan were the most modest and humble of men who knew their trade inside out. All three treated the fans with respect. Over the last two to three years these same fans have been subjected to arrogance boardering on contempt. The attitude now appears to be that management will do what it wants and it is the fans who are out of touch. I am reminded of another Shanklyism when he said that the Kop was like a huge " Knowledgeable family". Ignore that statement at your peril
If Dalglish thinks that current performances show an improvement on what has gone before he is deluded. The last few years have been the worst performances ever! We are now a mid table team at best. Can you imagine this lot having to play against Barcelona or Real Madrid. If FSG are content then so be it , it's their money, but fans are also paying hard earned cash to watch overpaid and underperforming players and it just isn't good enough.
The stats show that in the league Dalglish is virtually on a par with Roy Hodgson and we know what happened to him. I question in what way Steve Clarke is an improvement on Sammy Lee. I question the validity of having Damien Comolli in charge of spotting new talent. His tactic seems to be that if you sign five or six surely at least one of them might turn out OK ! I question the sense in showing preference for the likes of Adams and Henderson week in week out. But then I'm only a fan and as such I should just sit back and say nothing. Apparently things are improving !!!

  73. Theycallmemrburt4:27 pm, March 22, 2012

Why is it that everyone in our team gets a rest apart from Skrtel and Enrique?  Enrique looks dead on his feet.  His clearance from a cross where he somehow sliced a punt upfield behind for a corner was the writing on the wall.  The boy needs a break.

Kelly can't play two games without getting injured (but that's for another post) but when he is fit he comes in for Johnson.  The midfield and forwards also get rotated but Enrique is asked to get on with it.  His form has been dipping for a few weeks now and with Robinson back and Aurelio available kenny persists in  playing him regardless of form or fitness.  No blame can be attributed to Enrique, we the fans have noticed the boys form dipping but are not in a position to give the lad a break, that is the job of Kenny Dalglish.  If Kenny doesn't fancy Aurelio or Robinson he should have thought about this before spending 40 mill on Henderson and Downing when he could have easily signed four players for £10mill apiece of the same quality of the two mentioned players including another left back.  Originally our £115 million was earmarked for Comoli to spend on 9-12 new players.  Kenny blew it on 5 or 6.

    Time to go Kenny

    We are the resistance............

  74. No, there were many genius decisions.  I wish he was still in charge.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Is that why we never were less than 4th during most of his time and once was a close 2nd?

IHis final year was an aberration caused by external factors.

    ReplyDelete
  76. KENNY PLZ STOP SAYING THAT U R NOT GOING TO SPEND IN THIS SUMMER. U HAVE TO SPEND IN ORDER TO TOP THE TABLE.THE BIGGEST EXAMPLE IS MANC

    ReplyDelete
  77. Agreed, Enrique's form has dipped recently and we've hardly given him any time out. Surely, Robinson can play against Wigan? I know a lot of people did not rate Insua but i think we overplayed him when he got into the team and he never recovered. Enrique is older but we don't want to let him play himself into poor form and maybe lose a bit of confidence.

Agree about the signings, Henderson, if you think Chamberlain cost 10 million or so, we wasted 6 million. Carroll, if Ba cost 8 million, we wasted 27 million. Ok , that might be unfair but we definitely wasted 15 million. Downing, N'Zogbia cost 9 million to be just as poor for Villa, so we wasted at least 10 million. I understand Downing is improving but so, now, is N'Zogbia. Adam, the entire fee was a waste, considering who we let go. But we sold Meireles for more and Aquilani will go for 6 million, so saved about 9 million there. So that's 22 million, two more players in the squad, if you want to take wages into account. I'd have happily seen us sell Reina and bring in someone like Krul, when he might have cost us 10 million as well. Or taken Friedel on a free. 30 million wasted, at least.

    ReplyDelete
  78. O Neill for me, he has never failed anywhere since he was at Leicester.

    ReplyDelete
  79. You know your footy mate KD is racist Aquaman is box-to-box md and had the best pre-season , why sell him to AC MILAN? he is an idiot who does not know and still fighting for good old blighty

    ReplyDelete
  80. give me 115 million and i'll make your house look better, but you won't be impressed if all you get is a new set of shelves, will you?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Neither Meireles nor Aquilani wanted to stay. As soon as AVB showed an interest, Meireles got all damp.
And Aquilani IS quality, and looked good in pre-season. But then a lot of players look good pre-season when they are playing at half-pace. When Rafa bought him, everyone said he was a lightweight, and when Hodgson bought Raul, everyone said he bottled tackles.

    ReplyDelete
  82. yes, and in the days when, if ever, we are fighting for top spot, that kind of nonsense will be a thing of the past.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Luis Garcia and Hamann rate him, anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Funny enough, it was what Man Utd were like when they had gone a long time without winning the league. They could give anyone, especially us, a tough game but their league form was just like ours.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Yeah also Xavi and Iniesta are bottlers and light weights too...I'd definitely have Adam and Spearing over them

    ReplyDelete
  88. Have you actually been to any of the games, Massa? The only games I think we have been poor in are (off the top of my head before you wasters slate me for omitting one) :
Spurs (A), Bolton (A), City (A - but should have been 1-0 up), United (A - cowardly, but nearly nicked a draw), Swansea (H), Sunderland (A), and maybe Wigan (A).

We just aren't killing teams off. I appreciate that is a concern (and a major part of football), but you have to keep some perspective.

Did anyone seriously think this was going to be THE year? Really? Why, because we spent some money??!

Well so did everyone else. And most of them got the players we either wanted, or had been linked with, such as Jones, Young, Mata, Cahill, Lukaku, Silva, Aguero, Wickham (!!).

What exactly do Liverpool have to offer a player now? A few flags and a lot of gobshite, whingeing fans.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I'm tired and fed up now. I mean just how much more can we take. If he says that it will take hell of a player to improve this team and we don't need to buy anyone in the summer than my friends we r in big trouble. If he's still there in the beginning of next season than I for one won't expect next season to b annoy better than this one. Than again we might win the CC next season again and everything will b ok and the league position won't matter that much.

    ReplyDelete
  90. That's one of my worries, when Swansea and Norwich start getting more premiership money for surviving another season, their squads will get stronger and they will be competing with us for the carling cup as well! That's the level we are starting to operate in.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Like I implied in the brackets, I really appreciate he kept us in the CL places. But the one thing I hate about his and KK's reigns are the mentality that was/has been bred, i.e., 'turn up for the big games and do whatever you like lads against the lesser sides/games'.

Yes, rather have Rafa over KK but doesn't mean Rafa is perfect and that our problems would go away over night.

Want someone that can get the team drilled to give 110% every game, regardless of whoever it is, instead of allowing complacency against lesser sides like KK has done and Rafa did.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Aye, they were like a cup team before they got their hands on Ferguson.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Don't have a go at me, sonny. I never sold them!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Rafa got rid of the player that caused this loss, Cisse.
Liverpool are playing the best football in the league at times, they just need to get back the habbit of winning. It was obvious pre-season when we lost a number of matches that we should not have. Man Cty took time developing their team after spending far more money, so just leave Kenny alone.
Shankly said that the most one of the important things was to get the backbone of a dominant centre half, centre midfield and centre forward. At this time at least 2 of those things are missing.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Go on say it, you know you want. I'll say it for you, even though I find it bemusing...........'its just bad luck'

We are 7th. A club like ours finishes 7th because we simply weren't good enough and put in half-hearted performances.

    ReplyDelete
  96. KK needs to go at the end of the season..FULL STOP., somebody has to be responsible for the dodgy buys of Hendo, Adam, Carrol, Downing...The team has not improved whatsoever it has gone backwards.

Back end of last season Flanagan, Robinson, Kelly, Maxi and Shelvy performed better than any of the above players..eventually helping us to a respectable 6th in the league..Dalglish had a great half season using what he had.

Then came the summer a few more quality additions and we would be back challenging for a champions league place and hopefully back in Europe where we belong. Money was provided by the owners again, but millions was wasted on these mediocre squad players at inflated prices, instead of buying even 2 world class players we throw it away. if i owned our great football club i would not be happy at all, we have not improved.  we have just flushed money down the toilet and someone should be brought to task, what other manager would have spent so much on a talentless bunch?

Why haven't we used the likes of Suso, Morgan and Sterling young players with bags of potential and at a cost of £0, baffling don't you think.

Yes we have won the carling cup and may get the FA cup too, but we currently languish in 8th position, won 1 game from our last 6 in the league and 12 points from 4th, we are currently 28 points behind Man utd and only 20 points from bottom position.  If people are deluded enough to think this is progress, they need to have a word with themselves.

Solution bring back RAFFA let him spend the money in the summer as i would not give KK and Commoli a penny...would you?

I respect and love kenny both as a player and manager, but we need to stop being blinded by the past a nice spot on the board for KK and send Comolli back to France to waste someone elses money..ask yourself why Arsenal and Spurs fired him.. YNWA!!!

    ReplyDelete
  97. The only positives I take are that Liverpool seems to have attracted a lot of spoilt bastards masquerading as "fans".

You know, the kind. With their jester hats, they use OUR club as some sort of fashion accessory. They turn up purely to see Liverpool win. And IF we win, they show off down the pub, or "give it large" at work, and show no dignity, or class. They don't understand the concept of Karma, ie: NEVER give a fellow fan any shit, because it will ALWAYS come back to haunt you. One day.

And they sit there in front of me bawling; "Come on Loo-eey"...!!??   (Erm, it's fucking LUIS, not one of Donald Duck's nephews, or a bloody camp dancing "celebrity"), or they start chanting "Eee-sah" like some nob off Soccer AM. Or they phone someone while YNWA is on the tannoy. And they read the Sun, and love En-ger-land.

So if there is the merest, tiniest, miniscule crumb of comfort to take from these results, it's that these kind of 'fans' have also had a really shitty evening.

And consequently, I start to feel that bit better.

[That was in no way a personal attack on you, Gab, it just fit in nicely with your post.]

    ReplyDelete
  98. I didn't want to say it, Original, honestly!!  And the table never lies.

It's frustrating, upsetting, galling. It's starting to make me ill, insular, paranoid, defensive, tetchy.

I just don't (hand on heart) feel the actual play has been that bad this season, and I've been to all the Homes and a few of the Aways. It's certainly more entertaining than some of the stuff we played when Souness was in charge. And Hodgson.

For the last 20 years, though, you do feel that this club is always one game away from a crisis.

    ReplyDelete
  99. 100% i agree with you. for me enrique is the worst signing of them all. rubbish.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I agree. Look above.

I make it clear that Dalglish should be doing much better having spent that money but he is still doing better than Hodgson. I was disputing Jaimie's remark that you can't argue that Dalglish's results are worse than Roy's. That isn't true.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I am sick of people screaming for youngsters to be immediately propelled into first team at once!

    ReplyDelete
  102. The proof is in the games themselves, there for all to see......I guess if your not looking for it....or just want to ignore it....then you won't see it.....

Fact is last night was an expose of certain players who literally threw that game away when it was in the bag....

My own opinion is that we should have been more goals to the good by that stage but for the lack of our well protected and idolised striker Suarez skewing shots and spurning good opportunities to finish them off......

And thats been happening quite often also....hasn't it???

As i said earlier IF you want proof go watch the games again esp the final against Cardiff where we did our upmost to throw that one as well..............

The proof is there alright, just open your eyes....

    ReplyDelete
  103. Hmm, they where both told they get limited firsteam play because we got Gerrard in that position and KD wanted to bring in Adam / Henderson too, so yes they where forced out by KD!
Who could blame them for not wanting to stay and play
    with the reserves?

If Aquilani just had played half of the level he did in pre-season, he would still outshine Adam/Henderson any day!

    ReplyDelete
  104. I don't think Suarez is capable enough of participating in this conspiracy that you speak of, so could you kindly leave him alone? The reason for his lack of goals is very likely due to the rest of the team being abysmal. Suarez has to bring the ball himself from the midfield into the box. He didn't need to do that at Ajax and certainly doesn't  need to do that for his country. Leave Suarez alone! He's innocent and a GREAT guy who is an asset to our club. Give him a decent team to play in and he will be free to concentrate on his striker role.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I have said before that Reina is becoming a major problem for the team. He has had too many games and needs a rest. And why is Doni not playing games? Did we bring him into the team to 'warm the bench'?  Who knows - Doni could take his chance if given one, just as Iker Casillas benefited from Cesar's misfortune at Real Madrid.

  109. It is a result to madden any Liverpool fan,I thought we played as good a game as we have all season.we managed to break the deadlock and go 2 up,against a side who could play when they got the ball. The last 10 minutes of the first half they were strong.
After the second goal and Suares substitute we seemed to think we had it in bag and totally imploded into the panic stricken side that couldn't get the ball out of our own half.
They have to learn to play for 95 minutes with full concentration and commitment weather we are 2up or 2 down.

  110. King Penny is a conman. He's conned LFC out of £90m+. U say King Penny should not be insulted, well, i have a thousand insults for him right now but am not sure which to use. He is so old fashioned, naive, clueless, sturbon, self centred, stupid and a waste of space who should be flushed down the toilet together with the donkeys he signed. Why should he be getting any special treatment compared to the previous managers? Considering he is actually worse than all of them, he should be deserving of all the insults and jibes aimed at him. Ban me all you want, King Penny does not own LFC nor is he LFC, he is a clueless employee who found LFC already existing and will leave it existing. In short, he is a tosser with the most shocking PR skills!

    ReplyDelete
  111. Absolute rubbish! Suarez IS and has been underperforming............you can try and sugar coat it all you want but the guy has been a shadow of who he was last season, and before you say it NO thats not because of the team structure changes etc....he has had plenty of chances created to exploit........... yet has come up very short all too often..........

    ReplyDelete
  112. Agreed, I detest Hodgson as a manager but even i am starting wonder what would have happened if he had been given the money that Kenny's had? We might be in 8th place instead of 7th. In fact, I am trying to think of a manager in the premier league, Conner at Wolves and McCarthy before him, and, possibly Steve Kean, who would have blown the money as badly as we have.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Reina is a hugely overrated 'keeper. Some Liverpool fans who don't know any better even say he's better than the great Ray Clemence. What utter nonsense! He isn't fit to wash Ray's jockstrap. Unfortunately, LFC fans have a fatal tendency to overrate their players and then scratch their heads in puzzlement when they get stuffed so often. Good to see Fairclough putting the boot in. Well done David.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Thing is, that the result could have been worse, because the goal that Coates scored was one in a hundred! So, for all the whining about poor luck, we probably would never score a goal like that, from a centre back, in another 3 or 4 seasons. It makes me wonder what the score could have been had we not had that great start in the second half. Outplaying teams does not get you any points, creating chances and taking them does. QPR did not create much, but they scored 3. We created a few and, yet, needed our centre back to score a wonder goal from a bicycle kick to take the lead. Our team is mentally weak.

    ReplyDelete
  115. if only refs blew the whistle when we stopped bossing games eh... damn FA again against the club.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I'd happily exchange keepers with them, that's for sure. Why don't we find youngsters like that ever? We do ok with our own youngsters, but other clubs find players all over the world at a snip and one or two make the first team. Who was the last player like that for us? We had Insua, got rid of him, San Jose is now a fixture in the Bilbao defence that put Man Utd out of the Europa League. Our scouting is poor, or our development of the players we do pick up is poor. Only time will tell if Suso, Sterling and co go on to make a name for themselves at another club.

  117. What possible difference does it make whether they bossed it for 75 minutes or not? It is completely irrelevant. They lost and came back with no points. In your book that is a minor negative. To many supporters it is pretty major. That's what matters. Skrtel and Enrique haven't been 'immense' - they've been much better than the hopeless non-achievers around them. What passion are you talking about? Carroll's passion, perhaps? He hasn't broken sweat in a game since he arrived. If Hodgson were still manager the season would almost certainly have been exactly the same. We have gone absolutely nowhere.

    ReplyDelete
  118. gabweb think your missing the point. we bossed the game for 75 mins, the result is irrelevant, its like saying we should judge the season based on our position in the league which is disrespectful - why not on amount of chances we create or the times we hit the wood work which clearly shows progress

    ReplyDelete
  119. exactly, we only spent about a 100 million this year... its a slow progression so losing to bolton or qpr shouldnt be a surprise. i think another 100 million this summer and then we can fight for 5th next year which will be an improvement on 7th, then the year after we can go for 4th. give kenny a few years and more money... he will get us to 4th i promise... few hundred million is all that is needed.

    ReplyDelete
  120. It's never THE year, is it? Next year won't be either. Nor the one after. It's been a year of transition now for longer than I can remember. And when KD goes - or is sacked - then the Kopites will start up with 'well, you've got to be patient while the pieces fall into place.' The club is an absolute bloody joke and has been for years.

    ReplyDelete
  121. your comments are weak!!! moan, moan, moan!! jesus!! now your even putting a negative spin on that wonder goal!! i think

    ReplyDelete
  122. Very well put, sir.

    ReplyDelete
  123. love this post - best theory so far. tops all of the other excuses by a mile

    ReplyDelete
  124. i accept this analysis.. but i have to say that over the last 22 years the only time we came close to looking great again was when rafa was in charge. he wasnt consistent - but as a fan the best year i have experienced was 08/09 since the late 80s... taking man utd and real madrid to the cleaners and scoring goals for fun playing amazing football was a treat that may not be offered again for a long time. i just cant see us getting back to even that level unless someone reliable takes the post of managing the team .

    ReplyDelete
  125. get a life!! you moaning, moronic, people!! everyday, you on here, banging the same you old drum!! go out, get a girlfriend!! get some action... then you may stop the whining!! kenny not going anywhere!! you a bunch of fantisists!! you can't see what is in front of you!! you have no vision!! and only see what you wanna see!!

    ReplyDelete
  126. so many fans bang on he has been exceptional. but del bosque doesnt even watch him play.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Yes, and i have a feeling that our bad luck in the league might get a lot worse before the season ends as well.

I also worry about the teams who are outperforming us or nearly on terms with us who have players that we did not even consider buying. Although now that these teams are doing ok, we seem to be interested in the likes of Scott Sinclair and Nathan Dyer. As long as tactics, motivation and team selection is so poor, they will not make any difference!

Look at Yakubu for Blackburn, outscoring all our strikers, is he better than our strikers? Of course not, so what is going wrong? No one needs an intelligence check to work out where the problems lie.

    ReplyDelete
  128. How's that a negative spin? I said it was a wonder goal and even with that relative luck we could not hold on for the win! That is a fact, if you consider that to be a moan, then you have an odd way of looking at factual issues.

Like i said, you'd be great down the local on the day of the apocalypse, nothing to worry about! Can i get a packet of dry roasted please?

    ReplyDelete
  129. I think you will find that you are the one only seeing what you want to see. There is a hell of a lot of football being played elsewhere, by our competitors, like Newcastle, Swansea and co, and you don't seem to realise that. You also seem to think that they will surrender to your rose tinted assault and be fooled into thinking that we are better than we are.

We've still got to go to Swansea, what do you think the score will be?

    ReplyDelete
  130. Skyrtl has been our best player so far, but Enrique immense? what planet are you on?

    ReplyDelete
  131. The league table does'nt lie mate, we don't score enough goals because we're not that good. Ask the 9 teams that have beaten us, or all those that have come to Anfield and walked off with a point.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Agreed! it's the worst midfield i've ever known at liverpool and i've been watching them for forty years.

    ReplyDelete
  133. You forgot Carroll and Henderson.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I agree, but would keep Kuyt for another season. How much return do you think we'd get from our outlay? .......Exactly! Bet Fenway don't find it funny, do you?

    ReplyDelete
  135. Suarez need a top quality strike partner. Not Andy Carroll... he does'nt play that often and he's crap, thus leaving Surez to do it on his own, hence trying too hard!

    ReplyDelete
  136. Yes, he did'nt knowdid he! and it's his job to know. Most of us see it happening before we kick off!

    ReplyDelete
  137. Skyrtel has been our best performer this season and Enrique is crap.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Get used to it, because it'll take more money than Fenway will give us to get us out of this crappy team Kenny has given us.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I agree that Kenny should be shown the exit door before the fan lose their respect. Time is running out, no more excuses. Poor deployment of players. Look at MU, their players are not among the the most recognized, yet they consistently play effective football.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Unfortunately true.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Not a chance of any of these players at Anfield, sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  142. it's called healthy competition for places!! and if they had anyt fight in them, which they dint!! theyt'd  of stayed and fought for their places!! you really don't understand footy at all!!

    ReplyDelete
  143. they like sheep!! one of them says something, and they all jump all over it, as thgey don't have a braincell for themselves!!

    ReplyDelete
  144. all theses so called fans, are nothing but a bunch of drama queens!!

    ReplyDelete
  145. to all those who prefer to slag off everything our club stands for!! go away you moaning, whining, nasty person!!

    ReplyDelete
  146. you lot dont have a clue!! we are in a transitional period!! it takes time to build bk up, what has been broken!! i swear, you lot cant handle the absoloubt basics of footy!! you think if your team is a mid table team, which it was, when kenny took over, and might i add, if it wasn't for him, and roy was still in charge, we could be playing in the championship!! you think that by spending 100 mill, you automatically go from mid table, to fourth!! EEEEASY!! Lawro was talking the other day, about so called deluded fans!! that think you can transform everything thats wrong with the club, in one season!! Yes, he talking about all of you!! your a joke, and an embarrasment to this great club!!

    ReplyDelete
  147. Thank the lord! I've been saying Reina is crap for ages! People still say he's better than Joe hart!?! Credit where its due his distribution is top drawer but a keepers number one objective is to save goals..... He makes far too many blunders! Yes he makes the odd world class save, but if I had 100 shots taken at me and dived the same way every time...... SO WOULD I! Its called probability!
Our defence has made him appear far better than he is for several seasons now! He came to us with the reputation of being great penalty saver and shot stopper...... How many pens does he save? (prime example is Cardiff). Some of the saves he actually does make are more luck than judgement that ricochet off other body parts. I shit myself when corners are taken against us cus he's a liability and mis-punches half the balls! And I'm sick of him berating the defence constantly when its him who's at fault! And he's been saying he's considered leaving the past few seasons??? Yeah bye then!

    ReplyDelete
  148. I agree with introducing the young gen in now! We don't have to put them all in, but there are a few players that really should be sitting on the bench and getting a 10-15 min run at the very least!
Coates needs more game time and also Shelvey!
Pacheco, Morgan, Suso and Sterling should be getting this 10-15 and if play well, then more the next game and so forth!
Ahead of all these guys... Carroll a 35m buy MUST PLAY against teams like QPR! WTF?!?!

  150. I think we all have the same view of what happened. Three pieces of comical defending, wouldn't even be acceptable in league 2, generally a massive late match slip-up from an entire team of players who seemed to have gone to sleep after we got a 2 goal lead. However I don't think we can say that the players generally are not good enough. Skrtel has been great this season, as has Enrique. They both just seemed to be in another world at the time. What was at fault this time was our defence, which has otherwise been the best in the league. It seems quite clearly to be an issue of application and consistency. Liverpool still have the makings of being a very good football team. When they put it all together it's clearly top drawer stuff. However it's mostly frustrating as hell to watch the team because you're always expecting them to miss chances in front of goal and waiting for 1-0 leads to evaporate against smaller teams who nick one in off the post or get lucky with a second ball landing at someone's feet.
I'm not sure Kenny's response is good enough, however despite what everyone seems to expect it is in fact NOT his job to make sensible statements to the press. I can only assume that behind closed doors he knows precisely what went wrong and gave the entire team a verbal slamming for it. If he doesn't, and if he truly is at a loss to explain what went wrong then I think he has enough sense to recognise that as a major problem. He would need to live up to his promises and do "what is best for the club" regardless of how he personally feels. KD needs to have a crystal clear understanding of exactly how he's going to turn this team into challengers for the title. He needs to know down to the last detail what needs to change, what needs to improve and how they will make that improvement. If he doesn't then I'm afraid the old attitude of "one game at a time and lets see where we end up" isn't going to cut it.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Yer are deluded, what makes you the special one? you think you have the right to take the piss out of fellow Reds supporters and have you ever been to Anfield? The CLUB WILL ALWAYS BE BIGGER THAN EVERYONE INCLUDING DAGLISH

    ReplyDelete
  152. I don't think Reina was particularly at fault. He was totally wrong footed, but I definitely agree on your assessment of our defence and Fairclough's comment. Our players lost focus for 20 minutes which cost us all 3 points. We've done the hard work in getting our 2 goals, but that's not mission accomplished. Our players switched off and shipped 3 goals - that is unacceptable. That part isn't Kenny's fault. The players have to be blamed, unless they haven't been drilled to eliminate their blind sides, then we can say that is the management.

    ReplyDelete
  153. God we have all become Americans with all the bullshit stats in their sports. Mitzsu you and i don't see eye to eye and thats fair enough but what you say about a conspiracy is just crap and who the hell are you to criticise Suarez he has done nothing but work hard since arriving how dare you. Yes the players should bare some responsibility, but in the end if they are doing the wrong thing then it is up to KK to change things. He is not and he cannot fix the problems so why shouldn't we look else where for a manager, remember NO ONE PERSON IS BIGGER THAN LFC not even KK himself.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Yer are really an idiot, how did you come onto this site?

    ReplyDelete
  155. You are one deluded fan!

    ReplyDelete
  156. Chi Bai lu, Fairclough is damn RIGHT. Mind you we never lost so any games like now for the past 50 years. What's wrong with Kenny and his assembled team?

    ReplyDelete
  157. It's funny though when during Rafa time, one of the worst player in our team is Skrtel. But now he's our best player. Didn't it tell how bad Kenny team is.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Roythe Red - you need to recognise sarcasm a little more often

    ReplyDelete
  159. To say results are worse under KD than Woy is factually incorrect. Lift you your game Jaimie!!!!!! If you are going to whine then at least get it right.

    1 )Rafa bought Skertel
    2) Since Carra has been dropped Skertel has improved
    3)KD dropped Carragher

ERGO got nothing to do with Dalglish more to do with Carraghers absence

    ReplyDelete
  161. They should bench henderson and leave to play in the reserves for a while. Fergie does it all the time. It should be the punishment for stupid decisions and mistakes. Pepe should be given a 'rest' as he clearly thinks he is undroppable.

Adams should be played only when we up or when lucas is fit.

As far as kenny...its transition, but if this form follows through to next season. He will be sacked.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Too right. So much nonsense being talked about here - "get Rafa back" - lunacy! Dalglish is just far more pragmatic than the majority of us fans. He probably knew that 4th place was out of reach before Christmas and since then he has focused on winning cups. Now they have guaranteed an European spot for next season there isn't much to play for (I know us fans feel differently but the majority of players these days don't seem to have much loyalty or passion) - especially as many of the players must know that they will be making a move in the summer. This is why they raise their game for more high profile (in the shop window) games and then give pathetic performances like this against lower level opposition.

For me the biggest problem with the team is a total lack of pace anywhere. Man U, Arsenal etc all have real pace in their team whereas we look seriously under pressure when we play any team that has a bit of pace up front. Without pace we don't get behind defences enough and when we do then we can't cross a ball to save our lives!! No wonder Carol isn't doing much, we could have Shearer in his prime up front and it would be much different.

    ReplyDelete
  163. It's not incorrect; and later I will prove it

Does anyone else, like me, as a long suffering Liverpool supporter (desperate for us to win a rather long overdue EPL title!!!),have an impending feeling of doom against another bottom 3 team in Wigan this Sat????And don`t say that because we`re at Anfield will be the difference..our home form is horrible..look at th e EPL table...FACT....there are NO MORE EXCUSES!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  165. Healty competition for places is all good, but we allready had 4 players in that position!
    (Gerrard, Meireiles, Aqua and Shelvy)..
I am sure even you could find better use of the £26 mill wasted on adam/hendo!?

KD wanted british players, and both Meireles and Aqua where told that the new "Goldenboys" Adam/Hendo was who he would prefere and use from now..
Sirously what chance did Meireles and Aqua have??
They where pushed out by KD..

I really think YOU are the one that dont understand footy at all!! =)

  166. all i have to say is this: we have spent more than Qpr in a single season on transfers and im sure our wages are at least 40%higher and i am being kind WTF. Its not really Kd's fault when are the players going to be paid for there pefromances?

    ReplyDelete
  167. really angry i am good at my job, i sign contarcts lal ala but if i dont perform i get ****. the manager has made mistakes but he is not getting paid to play like a league in australia. boy's earn ur min 30k a week

  169. are you serious barren and tactless performance ,we dominated that game like a lot of games we have this year and not got the points we deserved ,why is it kennys fault his players lost concentration in the last 15 minutes of that game ,they are all highly payed professionals ,youve got a captain with years of experience when hes on the pitch his job is to rally the troops it didnt happen , our football this year has been way more enjoyable to watch under kenny than roy hodgson thet was just depressing to watch , and sorry to say bill shankly didint have instant success over night , he built a team to become succesfull wich i have great confidence kenny will ,but it aint going to happen over night ,in football one of the biggest things u need is confidence and im sure the way weve played this year and the way we have dominated games that if we had got the results we richly deserve we wouldnt be sitting where we are in the league ,and it has nothing to do with kenny that we had to pay 35 million for carroll , blame the club not kenny the club as a whole was in disseray and what happened torress left and we had what 3 days if that to search the world for a striker , but no one was willing to sell so it was andy carroll ,maybe you should become liverpool manager teesomethang you seem to have all the answers id love to see u watch your team dominate games and not get the deserved result and pick your  players up for the next game and try keep the confidence instilled in your team im sorry you would fail considerably ,kenny has enough weight on his shoulders doing his job than having negative supportes on it as well ynwa

    ReplyDelete
  170. It's Kenny's fault to the extent that he has to stop telling them how wonderful and amazing they are all the time.  He should rather be calling a spade a spade and being honest when they've played badly and not lead them to believe it was just "bad luck" or that we didn't get "what we deserved". It's the other way around - you only deserve what you do get!

    ReplyDelete
  171. Why o why does Henderson and Adam still get a shirt,I turned the radio off when Henderson came on ,no more excuses, i posted several weeks ago that we will nonmake seventh this year playing with so much dross in the side.

    ReplyDelete
  172. I have to agree with you on that!  They were annhilated 6-0 by Ajax in the NextGen series! Definitely not ready for the step-up!

    ReplyDelete
  173. Hold on, how was it "barren and tactless"? Regardless of the fiasco finish, we totally outplayed them most of the game.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Perfectly put in an absolute nut-shell!  Can't add a thing!

    ReplyDelete
  175. Absolutely right. Too many Premier Manager players quoting the players they want who could magically transform the fortunes of our club.

Get real, people. Kenny stays or Kenny goes - either way it will be some time before we seriously challenge for the league. Instant success is for Chelscum and City. I am looking forward to the day Abramovich cashes in his chips - calls in the debt CFC owes him and sells off that classless little club piece by piece...

    ReplyDelete
  176. Man, Woy was FAR worse than KDD!!!

    ReplyDelete
  177. Pushed out my arse! IMO, Aqua wanted back to Italy, Meireles did indeed "get damp" (great turn of phrase BTW!) to be with AVB.

Sorry mate, but how do you know what they were "told"?

    Evidence please...

    ReplyDelete
  178. Time you get your head out the sand mate! If nothing changes, we won't be going for the league any time soon!

    ReplyDelete
  179. Jim - you are totally right.

    ReplyDelete
  180. But I think we've been like this for some years now, not just under KD, don't you think?

    ReplyDelete
  181. What youngsters like Gerrard, McMannaman, Fowler, Owen, Rooney, Wilshire, Richards, Rodwell,Lennon, Bent, Milner,Bale, Cole, Fabregas,Giggs,Shearer, Wellbeck, sturridge, cleverly and many more top quality players graced the premier league at the age of 16-17.

And people are not saying give them a starting place, but at least bed them in off the bench and if they are good enough whats the problem them starting future games, thats what football should be about finding raw footballing talent and bringing young players up through the ranks, age shouldn't come into it if your good enough.

Sorry but you do not talk any sense!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  182. We are not talking about the whole squad of youngsters just a couple of stand out quality players Suso and Sterling, not everbody will make the grade thats why we have an acadamy mate, you cant judge these 2 players on a team performance...individually they are brilliant.

I watched them play the Next Gen game against Sporting Lisbon at Anfield we lost 4-nil, but sterling still got MOTM...what does that tell you!!!

    ReplyDelete
  183. Yes, I agree. Its a mentality that has been around for a while and seems set to continue. Under Rafa it was the same with CL games and big PL games, though at least we were in CL

    ReplyDelete
  184. Not exactly what I was looking for, in terms of proof

Even I have been critical of the way Suarez has been put up on a pedestal, when he hasn't done much but in relation to your theory, was expecting more in the way of proof.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Its not Carroll's fault that Suarez keeps hitting the post and missing easy chances.

    ReplyDelete
  186. I see, but many, probably, have been a supporter for longer than most. Wasting money to be slightly ahead of Swansea ought to be criticised. The day that it is not permitted is the day when we are operating under a dictatorship.

    ReplyDelete
  187. Reading in the cup, pompey away in the league. Two shocking performances in quick succession.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Results worse than Hodgson's reign? can hardly believe that taking into consideration win percentage rate of cup matches, assume this is not a factual point as no stat supplied to evidence.

all i know is I enjoy watching us play now and the players Dalglish bought are much better than the dross Hodgson bought.

Time will tell what tell but like it or not the future doesnt look to bad

P.S henderson at fault for 1st goal, come on Carragher is the defender and completely out jumped by the mighty Shaun derry!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  189. Finished 5th and were the best team in the second half of last season. We weren't mid-table by the time we finished last season, in terms of position finished and performances.
