Juventus winger Milo Krasic has been persistently linked with Liverpool over the last few months, and his Agent has made it clear several times that the Serb wants to leave Italy. Kenny Dalglish's team could definitely do with another winger, and the latest update from Krasic's Agent seems to suggest he will definitely be available in the summer.
In January, Krasic's Agent Vlado Borozan confirmed that his client 'wants to change teams', but only for 'a top club, possibly in England'. Yesterday, Borozan again reiterated that Krasic's time at Juventus is over. He told Radio CRC:
"He [Krasic] has become an unrecognisable player in Juventus because of a tactical problem. My client is a great player, so in June we'll see where he will go to play. Krasic has many admirers and not only in Italy, so I think that there won't be big problems in finding a good team."
£14m-rated Krasic has been warming the bench for most of the season at Juventus, so he's clearly not part of Antonio Conte's plans. The question is, does he feel that Liverpool is a 'top club', and if so, should Kenny try and sign him?
To be honest, It's easy to see why Krasic has been frozen out at Juve. Like so many of Liverpool's current players, he's not consistent enough. For example, last season, he got six goals and six assists in 37 starts, which is creditable, but at one point, he scored only two goals in 24 games, and that's just not going to cut it.

Adam Johnson would be better, or promote Raheem Sterling.
ReplyDeleteWell, we do need another RW player, not sure whether this guy would be good enough and its difficult to asess how good he is by watching that vid.
ReplyDeleteOne thing i did like though was his determination to get forward with the ball, take on players and at least try to create something, negatives would be that his finishing looks a bit hit or miss and we have a player like that in Downing already....
This summer will be VERY interesting indeed... and im sure we will be linked with a number of new potential signings, Dirk might well be off and even if he isn't we still need another winger for sure.
Yawn,
ReplyDeleteget a proper job jamie
Don't rate him, don't like him, don't want him, let Chelsea have him
ReplyDeleteRaheem Sterling needs to get into the plans this summer, along with a proven striker and a new Stevie G, preferable Javi Martinez but more likely Gaston Ramirez because of our budget.
ReplyDeleteHe is a good lively player. Not sure whether he will be a top winger one day but to be fair, Serie A can be a stifling environment for a natural winger. Not easy place for a winger to succeed. Attacking full backs thrive better in Serie A than wingers, most of the time, whether it be in a 4-man defence or as wing backs. Wingers in Serie A will rarely do better than 1 in 2 ratio of goals/assists. Alexis Sanchez got better than 1 in 2 ratio last season (though not by much - 27 starts 4 sub apps, he got 12 goals and 6 assists) but even then, he played quite a few games up front alongside Di Natale, as well as the wing. So I wouldn't be too critical of Krasic. He has talent and given the right role in the right set up, he is a good player. If he is available on the cheap, than he is worth the gamble but not worth the big fee at the moment as there are question marks over him. For those who hate Suarez's theatrics, well lets just say Krasic isn't bad at it either! :(
ReplyDeleteKrasic task made even more tougher this season with the way Conte has set up the team as the full backs (Lichensteiner gets forward so well and that Paraguayan winger they have is sometimes used as a wing/full back, illustrating the tactical shift this season) are being used much more in terms of providing width and getting forward, requiring the midfield wide players (sometimes its just the one wide midfielder, sometimes none and of course, sometimes both) to tuck in more and work more defensively. Krasic's agent has suggested that he is not being playing regularly this season because of this too, i.e., Conte requires a lot of work defensively from the wingers and Krasic simply can't do it. Pepe is a winger but he is versatile and is hard working, in terms of defensive shift, the same with the Paraguayan winger I mentioned. Conte has sometimes used 3-5-2, so no wingers at times, just wing backs, as seen against Napoli in the 3-3 draw. Pepe was used more centrally in that game, another example of his versatility and work rate.
The Premier League is made for players like Krasic,Elia(Juventus) and Afellay and
ReplyDeleteany 2 of those 3 would add what is needed on our wings players who can score and have the pace needed to bother Premier League defences.
Shelvey is a ready made replacement that boy has potential yet is over looked in favour of henderson
ReplyDeleteI mean a news Stevie G replacement
ReplyDeletewe don't need a player who sits on the bench. and before joining juventus, LFC wanted him and he opted for Juve, so we don't need garbage at LFC, Inker Munian will be an asset to us than this waste
ReplyDeleteI know this wasn't your point but like with Krasic, they don't use Elia much either. Both of them are really good technically and they can make things happen out of nothing on the wing but because of (I assume from the games I have seen) tactically, versatility and defensive work rate, the likes of Pepe, Padoin and Estigarribia are used more. The funny thing is that it has started to wear off, in terms of effectiveness, in the last few games the 'hardworking' nature of those players as the performances haven't been as good as it was in the first half of the season, as they have dropped a lot of points since January. So still time for Krasic and Elia to break through
ReplyDeleteChi Bai lu, dont buy unwanted players by their club.
ReplyDeleteJunior Hoilett is someone Liverpool should seriously look into signing as he will be free in the summer and has loads of potential.
ReplyDeleteHoillet is the one for also. And this guy Krasic has been available for too long for me to want to trust him in the team. If we were looking to take a punt on a back up player, who wasn't going to cost anything, i would say ok, but as a first teamer? We need players that don't have as much risk about them. Anyone not getting a regular game is too risky.
ReplyDeleteYou would have thought Afellay and Elia would have looked at Overmars success at Arsenal before he left for Barcelona,
ReplyDeletecoming to the Premier League usually does players good before they move back to the continent or they might like it here and stay.
Krasic turned down a loan move to Spurs in January and is now regretting it!
The reason Juventus have fallen out with Krasic is that they thought they were buying the next
ReplyDeletePavel Nedved and the joke is that is hair is as close as they got to Nedved!
Which is a bit harsh seeing that Nedved was already a seasoned Italian league footballer.
Henry(Juventus), Vieira(AC Milan) and Bergkamp(Inter Milan) 3 players that were not wanted in Italy and all were a hit in the Premier League.
ReplyDeleteI saw plenty of Juve last season, as well as this season and he did reasonably for them for his first season, though he had games where he was totally quiet as the opponents nullified him. He is being sold because he simply isn't cut out for the current tactics which requires him to put in a shift defensively, he simply doesn't work hard like Estigarribia, Pepe or Padoin, neither is he defensively aware like them.
ReplyDeleteI think with Afellay it was a case of 'I am joining possibly the best team of all time, its a once in a lifetime opportunity' mindset. To be honest, it is Barca after all and they are THE side to be at, so its understandable, even if he has never really stood a chance of displacing Villa or Pedro unless they were injured (now they got Tello and Cuenca coming through! Ridiculous!). Villa got injured but so too did Afellay, which was cruel timing for Afellay as that was a chance for him. I think Afellay is fit now, or at least not far off.
ReplyDeleteIf I were a winger, Serie A is possibly the last league I would go to, especially someone that is very much a out-n-out winger and is young. It is a frustrating type of football and tactical tempo for a winger. Only very few wingers are genuine successes, since I started watching it in the mid 90s. Nedved is the stand out one and Conceicao was excellent....for like two seasons.
The best wide player in Serie A, for me, was when Cafu was a wing back at Roma, I think under Capello. Phenomenal running machine down the right flank. Up-n-down, non-stop all game long!
Krasic is just a right footed Downing
ReplyDeleteI like Elia and Afellay, but Krasic would be a(nother) waste of money imo. He's got little to no flair or creativity, poor/inconsistent delivery, carries little goal threat and is at an age where he has probably peaked and won't get any better. In other words, he'd just be another Stewart Downing.
ReplyDeleteLiverpool should've put in a cheeky little bid in the winter like I kept saying - which would've improved our chances of being back in the CL next year. There's lilttle chance that he'll join Liverpool over some of the other suitors that will undoubtedly come in for him on a free transfer now
ReplyDeleteKrasic will be the first player brought in the summer then!
ReplyDeleteWith the way Juventus have tossed him aside we could get him for £5 million.
He has just gone to the wrong league! Premier League usually gives these sort of players a lift, Van Der Vart was written off at Real in Spain but has shown is quality is to good for the Premier League, Krasic could have the same impact, taking him on loan in Jan would have been a good idea.
