Gerard Houllier - RIP :-(

Does Kenny Dalglish really expect Liverpool fans to believe this...?

Prior to Liverpool's defeat at Old Trafford earlier today, Liverpool's Luis Suarez seemingly refused to shake Patrice Evra's hand. Tens of millions of people around the world saw it happen but Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has claimed that he didn't see the incident it, and didn't even know about it.

Speaking to the BBC after the game, Dalglish was asked about the non-handshake, and he claimed:

"I never knew Suarez refused to shake Evra's hand. I wasn't there, I never saw it. It's contrary to what I've been told."

Contrary to what he's been told? By whom? Does he seriously expect people to believe that someone told him that Suarez DID shake Evra's hand, because in this context, that's exactly what 'contrary to what I've been told' means.

With the greatest respect, Dalglish claiming not to know about the handshake incident trivializes a very important issue.

In the interview, Kenny could've just declined to discuss the issue, or better still, he could've simply acknowledged the incident, but claiming not to even know about it? Ridiculous.

Dalglish seems to increasingly feign ignorance over most obvious things, and if it's his attempt to avoid answering questions, then it does him no credit whatsoever.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but surely it's far more in keeping with Liverpool's traditions to just tell the truth, even if the if it's a truth that no one wants to face?

  1. Until Suarez and Dalglish are removed from the club, I can no longer support Liverpool FC. Both have become a disgrace to the historic institution that is Liverpool FC.

  2. I think he meant that Evra pulled his hand down so Suarez moved on......really mate, doom monger much.

  3. Mate he claims he never saw it , at 1st i thought EVRA refused 2 shake Suarez's hand , even Pictures going around on LFC fan forums show Suarez going 2 shake Evra's hand , who pulled it back........Ur a LFC fan U better know Media wud love every other manager having opnion but not a LFC manager , a lesson well learned from Rafa days.

  4. He might not have seen it until after the game, but I doubt he will admit Suarez's behaviour was immature and just plain wrong, even after he sees it.

Meanwhile, each such action by Suarez makes it obvious that signing him was asking for trouble and against values of Liverpool.

  5. Really disappointed yet again with KK's post-match comments. He certainly doesn't know how to play it 'safe' when it comes post-match comments does he

On a different point, Dalglish said on Thursday that Suarez would shake Evra's hand. What does Suarez? The opposite.

  6. evra refused to shake Suarez hand. Look at the replays and forums.  Suarez put his hand out and Evra haf heartedly and only half way up did he press his arm in Suarez's direction.

  7. Jaimie, ur a right jackass and don't half right some real rubbish, have u seen the incident properly and actually analysed it? No i didn't think so!!! It's clear u haven't otherwise u would be able to see evra lowers his hand as saurez comes to him!!! Go get a job u might be good at, because being anything to do with LFC is not for the likes of u!!

  9. Why should suarez shake his hand . This lieing b*****d got Suaraz a ban for 8 matches. After insulting Suarez`s race. Read the F A report.

  14. Totally shocked, Evra refused to shake Suarez's hand it was such a sly move only seen from a certain angle. TV replays show it. Stop making Suarez out to be such a boogey man. And I'm not white!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I have read the FA report; you clearly haven't. Suarez ADMITTED calling Evra 'Negro'. Evra did not lie about that. You clearly have no idea about the concepts of fairness and non-bias. Furthermore, this whole issue is bigger than just Luis Suarez - it reflects badly on LFC, expecially after Dalglish said on Thursday that Suarez WOULD shake Evra's hand.

  16. You've never been a supporter of Liverpool, and it shows

  17. Jaimie, after the recent events, do you seriously think Suarez was innocent? "what happens on the pitch, should stay on it" was the most glaring statement.

Answer this....why did Suarez's statement change so many times? why were there so many discrepancies between Kuyt, Camolli and Daglish's statements, the former 2 in particular changing their statements to fit suarez's version of events.

Are u at all then surprised that an INDEPENDENT PANEL, not the FA found him guilty? The Liverpool side of this was a mess. What's worse is the lack of grace and humility shown here. No apology towards Evra for falsely claiming he "has previous". LFC are lucky they are not facing a lawsuit.

For Suarez to claim it was all in a friendly way when he called him a "negro" in the middle of a heated argument, which in the context, is considered RACIST term in Uruguay.

You're a complete dickhead for even defending your club's stance in previous articles. Anyone who actually read the report would realise that a guilty verdict was only possible given the information presented to the panel.

To then claim it's a case of 1 person's word over another, shows that your club didn't even read the report. And even taking with that stance. That defence then implies that people should believe your version of events to find you innocent?

    ReplyDelete
  18. If you don't understand the bond Kenny Dalglish has with this club then you don't understand Liverpool Football Club . My very best advise to you is shop around for another football club to claim you support

  19. Ridiculous comparison from Redknapp - that's just two individuals; this is the reputation of an entire football club.

  20. Jaimie opem ur eyes fella..Evra is a snidey manipulative man. He instigated it today. Suarez put his hand out and he half heartedly made an attempt which put doubt in Suarez mind.

  24. Hardly blame him. The slime ball single handedly tried to bring Suarez down and, to an extent, has acheived his ambition.

Not saying Suarez is an angel, however, look at Evras reaction over somthing so silly as a hand shake.

    Evra is discusting.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'd give up responding to people's comments mate. You clearly see this is bigger than football, where as most of the people on here can't. The report was very damning and it's not a surprise he was found guilty.

In fact the liars, as proved by that report were Kuyt, Camolli, Daglish and Suarez who changed his version of events quite a few times

  28. I, like Gary Neville, couldn't give a flying toss that Suarez didn't shake Evra's hand. You are not on the football pitch to make friends with the opposition. He has maintained his innocence all along and whether you believe that or not, he feels aggrieved and doesn't like Evra (and you have to say the feeling is mutual). Therefore he didn't want to shake his hand. What is so wrong with that? Would you rather he was a hypocrite and contritely shook his hand just to keep other people happy, or display his true feelings? Would you shake the hand of someone who you thought had lied to get you punished for something? For that matter, would you shake the hand of someone who had racially abused you? I think not. So why did Evra want to shake hands?

I think the author here has an agenda and seems to be to with politics and not football.

As for Rik's comments. You are not going to have too may people crying over you. Let me see, sack Dalglish and Suarez or lose the support of Rik. Difficult one eh?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Are you sure? Check the video and check the photograph available. Suarez offered his hands, and Evra refused and then made a little circus. Evra is a professional liar.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Jamie Redknapp - son of a Harry Redknapp - Who can't even read or write!

It's shows Redknapp's stupidity to be honest. He claims "there isn't a racism problem in football".

firstly as a person who's not currently playing the game...how would he know this? Secondly, he's white not black, so what would he know about racial abuse?

LFC's stance has made it incredible difficult for people to stand up to racist abuse in football.

    ReplyDelete
  31. My eyes are open; Evra did not refuse to shake hands. His hand was out; Suarez's deliberately moved past him with no intention of shaking. If Evra's intention was not to shake, why would he grab Suarez's arm afterwards, and protest to the referee? let me guess: He planned the whole thing to happen that way, right?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well then, why is nobody discussing that Ferdinand refused to shake hands with Suarez too???

It's not about honesty anymore, you just obviously hate Suarez and the way Kenny behaves. If you really say, that you are something, that Liverpool stands for, stop acting like angry teenager and grow up and try for example writing something about what should Clark do with the tactics.

When I started reading your site, you wrote about players and game and mostly about football, but all you do in last weeks is complaining.

Honestly, do you expect Kenny to change? He's like that, he won't argue, he's kind person. Do you want to blame him for not being dum**ss like Ferguson?

    ReplyDelete
  33. What video evidence? Please go to the BBC site and see the footage. It is taken from behind Suarez's body, you cannot see what happened. Then go and check a photo that circulates from an angle where it shows Suarez offering his hand and Evra's hand down not accepting. It is actually you who are denying the visual evidence.

  34. pains me to say but i have to agree with fergie on this one....i am a lifelong liverpool fan and season ticket holder but i'm sorry suarez is the biggest disgrace ever to don the famous red - we should cash in!!!!! buy someone who is a teamplayer and not someone who craves the limelight and contraversy

    ReplyDelete
  36. Jamie you are an idiot. If you were wrongly convicted and in your heart of hearts believe you are innocent, you would not shake the accused's hand. If you're human.
Strange thing the British press haven't reacted to Steve Williams as they have to Suarez. And he saig Tiger was a black B****** to the public. Has your community banned him from the British Open? No. Why? Cos he is not South American, no he is one of yours an Aussie. Double standards I say.

As for Rik he may think he has principles and that is fine. Everyone has a choice in life.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Suarez never admitted saying ANYTHING racial to Evra. If you read the report apparently you did not understand it at all. The conversation was in Spanish. Would you like to be convicted in a foreign country after somebody mistranslated something you said in English? You should show some respect for people from different origins and their language. You are the only racist here.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think you've just made it abundantly clear that it's you who didn't understand the report. Bravo.

    ReplyDelete
  41. if a guy accuses of attempted theft and gets time for it u wont shake his hand truth is no one realy knows whether suarez meant it as a racicst comment or nor but personally his actions today show me that he is not a racist he just hates patrice evra. Another point to add is patrice evra is the man that caused havoc in the french team during the world cup and also as soon as luis suarez walked past him today he looked straight at the camera he is a man that loves contreversy but i think luis suarez showed some balls today he could of easilly done what the rest of the world wanted but he feels hard done by and he showed that on the pitch

    ReplyDelete
  42. Simple solution: If you don't like this site, leave. I'm not interested in your bitching about my views or what I should/should not write. I'm entitled to my opinion, and if you can't hack it, tough luck.

You and others just can't separate the emotion from football; I can, and I make no apology for it. I don't 'hate' Suarez or Dalglish - I don't get emotionally involved like that. I support Liverpool FC, not Dalglish or Suarez FC.

    ReplyDelete
  43. join rik and leave now

    ReplyDelete
  44. One more thing about that handshaking ... It is said that you should shake hands with person you respect, so it is obvious why Suarez didn't shake Evra's hand, he didn't insult him, he just wanted to say it this way.

Look how Suarez reacted when Rio refused to shake his hand, he just took it, not like Evra who played that little theatrical act there with holding the hand etc.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I dint see there .. so i don't believe you .. and i am NOT discussing this with you anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Iv actually watched the handshake in slow motion and he Suarez actually had his hand out for Evra to shake, yet Evra wouldnt move his hand towards Suarez,Evra kept his hand still expecting Suarez to grovel basically and thats why Evra tried to grab him back so before you all accuse Suarez look at the replay again,Suarez had his hand out yet Evra wouldnt put his hand to suarezs, another time Suarez has been wrongly accused by his own fans this time

    ReplyDelete
  50. Look at Evras hand as Henderson approaches, his hand is raised ready to shake his hand. As Suarez approaches he keeps his hand lowered. Suarez's hand is not visable however you can clearly see his arm is pointing towards Evra who clearly refuses until Suarez moves it past him. The Guy is a con man and a good con man at that.

    ReplyDelete
  51. C'mon Jaimie, you were not standing there either. Clearly you just make an assumption. You can say whatever you want from watching the TV. You said you were fair but it's the contrary. Why you wouldn't want to accept the version of the video where Evra put down his hand from shaking Suarez''s is a mystery.

For the rest so called LFC fans but slagging the manager and player, for your information there are 6 tops team in EPL above LFC to choose. Please go.

    ReplyDelete
  52. you're a fucking muppet then, go and support another LFC have enough true fans. And jaimie you're a dick aswel, evra held his hand back while suarez passed thats why he didnt shake his hand, he played the victim card again. Thats what kenny could mean from "contrary to what he's been told" you fuckin twat!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Suarez went to shake Evra’s hand, PE held his hand back so Suarez moved on. When he did PE reacted. Not surprised by his behaviour the man is a born liar. Is that so difficult to see? Instead you type up another page of bile against the club, JK you are not a fan of LFC.

    ReplyDelete
  54. LFC are not at any loss by loosing a jerk like u.

    ReplyDelete
  55. for god sakes pls open ur eyes. its an individuals right to shake or not to shake hands. why is everyone harping on Suarez-Evra handshake? why isn't anyone harping abt Suarez-Ferdinand handshake?

if someone accuse you of being a racist, would u shake hands with that person? or if u claim someone made a racist remark on you and you made a big scene out of it, why would you want to shake hand with that person???

please watch the handshake video again. how come when shaking hands with Henderson, Evra's hand is completely out and when Suarez walked near, his hand was half inside? isnt that a sign that Evra was first reluctant to shake hands. and when Suarez ignores n offers his hand to De Gea, the drama queen pulls Suarez hand as if it was Suarez who in the 1st place refuses a hand shake.

and some craps here immediately accusing Suarez as the culprit. and the worst part is, they claim they are LFC fans. blind mice blindly follows what the media portrays.

and SAF calling Suarez a disgrace, disgracing LFC n shud never play for them anymore. such a hypocrite. he's had players still played for MU after kicking a fan (Cantona), a MU player assaulting a fellow player in revenge and ending his his career (Keane), a MU player still playing after a 9 mths ban for missing drug test (Ferdinand), a MU palyer still paying for them after being caught visiting prostitutes (Rooney), a MU player still playing for them after being caught shagging his own sis-in-law (Giggs).

MU and SAF are the true disgrace to English Football. they blame others and create controversies in order to take away their own dirty on and off field antics.

    ReplyDelete
  56. hahaha...u r a joke...

    ReplyDelete
  57. Give it a fucking rest Jaimie. We all know that the handshake would have been an empty gesture anyway. Was Bridge "childish" when he refused to shake Terry's hand for shagging his EX-girlfriend? Everyone seemed to find that hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  58. you just don't have a clue what you're talking about half the time, thats being honest!

    ReplyDelete
  59. We, all the LFC should feel relief that no transfer activity was taken place in January transfer window under Kenny Dalglish and that is due to the fact that this should be Kenny's first and final full season as a Liverpool manager!  Watching how Kenny has been preparing the team from the beginning of the season up to now it is obvious that he has never had a tactical plan for any game we played!  Additionally, for another game the AMs Steward Downing and Jordan Henderson that were cost to us 20,000,000 could not justify the reason they were brought to LFC!  It is the time for John W. Henry, Thomas Werner, Ian Ayre, and Damien Comolli to sit down and identify our next manager whould should be one of the followings:
    - Jose Mourinho
    - Guus Hiddick
    - Fabio Capello
    - Marcello Lippi

    ReplyDelete
  60. Negro is NOT racist. It is a descriptive, meaning black. Evra IS still black, isn't he?......

    ReplyDelete
  61. Suarez not shaking Evra's hand might not have been the right or proper thing to do, but still it should not be considered a crime. Suarez was convicted and penalzed for what he did, and for that he paid his dues, an 8 match ban. Having said that, it should not mean that he is required to act as nothing had happened. Have we all not experienced a situation in our lives in which we were not ready to just kiss and make up? Especially if you felt that you were not fully at fault
I am not saying he did the right thing, but again like I said he did not commit a crime by not shaking hands.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Jamie Kanwar... here is what I have understood of you after having read several of your articles-
    1. If you consider yourself to be a Liverpool FC fan/supporter, I am sorry mate, you are really not for you are neither loyal nor logical. 2. If you think you are here just to be "Honest" and don't care about the club. Then please do us a favor, stop putting out your "honest" opinion about our club and so be a lawyer.
Your write little about football and more about everything else that matters little. Please stop perpetuating an issue that should never have exploded into its current scale if the FA had any sense of neutrality and unbiased ruling.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Look at all the trouble evra caused at the world cup. He is a tw*t simple as.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I totally agree with comebackrafa. Evra's  hand for everyone b4 Suarez was by the O on EON to be shook. When Suarez approaches he puts his hand to his groin area. Suarez hand is their to be shook. Evra only attempts to shake his hand once he has past then plays to the cameras as usual to try to blame Suarez. Look at the footage from the ground level camera and play it in slow motion and you can see it quite clearly

    ReplyDelete
  65. Even simpler solution:

Make your own mind up, but to me, it's Evra with his hand lowered, and not Suarez.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Sorry image did not show up in post ^^

    ReplyDelete
  67. Here we go again, just because millions of people seen it, why does that mean kenny must of seen it? Could he have been doing something else at the time? Like discussing something with one of his staff? Oh, sorry you obviously seen kenny standing there looking, if so, show me the picture from anywhere showing kenny watching.

Plus why should Suarez shake the hand of some one who first, started the discussion, then insulted his culture, then insulted his sister and because he retaliated, got banned for 8 games. now all this is fact according to the written FA report on the incident that got Suarez the ban.

Obviously he does not like Evra, but the media expect everybody to toe the line of there one sided view of things.

The saying is no one player is bigger than the club, so how does this reflect on the club? it shows one player sticking to the fact that he believes he has been mistreated.

I believe, under the FA rules, the ban was right for Suarez, but also under the same rule, evra should have got the same ban, or do you consider abusing South Americans is ok.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Sorry, but to support LFC is to support everyone at the club. And that includes Luis and Kenny. You're trying too hard to be neutral, and it's getting boring. It was just a handshake, so get a grip.

    ReplyDelete
  69. "in contrary to what I've been told" could also mean that KK was told that Evra was the one who at 1st refused a handshake with Suarez resulting in Suarez walking past him. Why can't you take it this way Jaime?

it has nothing to do with honesty but knowing and understanding of what really happened and bringing out the actual truth.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Jaimie, I saw that interview KD gave and frankly I am embarassed by it... and by the make up of our fanbase these days. On this thread we actually have LFC supporters arguing Evra refused Suarez handshake? It is one thing to support your club unconditionally, but a lot of our fans are just coming across as ignorant small minded spin doctors who take any scenario and turn it into an anti Liverpool conspiracy.

I rate Suarez, he has ability, but he has let the club down today and has not acted in the interests of LFC but only himself, furthermore Kenny Dalglish has once again come across as an embarassment when he faces the media, the man I respected at his previous helm at the club is fading in reputation through his own actions.

For the sake of a handshake we are all over the news, pundits, presenters, the public, neutrals, racism groups, players, managers are all talking about his stupidity in not defusing the situation, how is this a good thing for our club? I despise Alex Ferguson and Man Utd but for the right reasons of rivalry, but he indicated today Suarez was ruining the reputation of the club and that we should sell him - I actually agree with him.

I will expect more of the usual nonsense from our current fans who cannot recognise the damage Suarez and Dalglish have caused to the club in this whole affair (from the T shirts to claiming he never saw the handshake incident), Jaimie you were bang on correct last year when we purchased Suarez that he would be a liability.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  74. Maddness why don't you rewatch the video in slow motion of the handshake from the ground level angle and you can see quite clearly that Suarez hand is their to be shook but evras hand is by his groin area. Evra only tried to shake Suarezs hand once he had gone past

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  78. For God's sake, forget about it! What the hell does it matter whether someone shakes someone's else hand? It's beyond trivial, it's piffling. It's footling. Look around you at the world - American soldiers are urinating on corpses, people are being thrown out of work to force wages down, thousands will die from the Japan nuclear disaster last year and you're still trying to wring something out of a non handshake. Isn't it time you took a look at the world? If you want to criticise KD then criticise his dreadful signings , not his eyesight. Come to think, those two might be related. Maybe KD confused Henderson, Adam, Dowling and Carroll with footballers precisely because his eyesight is failing.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Sargonid, you are a paranoid nutter, they are all out to get us!! Most people who say that are locked up.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Now the handshake is silly, first Suarez is not a racist and had said nothing. Keep changing the goalposts, you are disgusting!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Kkk - I've never once claimed Suarez was innocent; I've conceded all along that he admitted calling Evra 'Negro'.  However, there is no evidence to show that Suarez said all the other stuff to Evra (i.e. 'because you're black' etc).

In reality, he may well have said the other stuff, but without evidence, it's irrelevant.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Jaimie, if u write an article, there will be ppl commenting on it. whether its negative or positive u got to take it and digest it. if u don't like anyone commenting abt it, disable comments. it allows you to live in your own world.

another thing, you said "I support Liverpool FC, not Dalglish or Suarez". mind you those two make up LFC. LFC is not just an empty club with no one it in.

    ReplyDelete
  83. pathetic excuses. You must have a sad life if you are prepared to delude yourself this much over a football match.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I have, and do not see what you do.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Hope you dont mind me writing - I will be honest upfront - I am a Manchester United fan. This whole incident over the last few weeks has in my opinion continued unecessarily, through Dalglish's defiance and Suarez lack of apology, and i think that has had a detrimental impact on Liverpool's reputation. Dalglish's post match comments today along with Suarez's actions were total uncalled for.
Most honest united fans will always accept that Liverpool holds its business behind closed doors in a complete and honourable dignified fashion, other than your ex American owners (and lets face it we both have issues over the yanks coming in!) the sacking of Roy Hodgson was the first such occasion when Liverpool in effect washed its dirty linen in public, but even then the sacking of Roy Hodgson was dealt with, with a degree of dignity. I appreciate how much Kenny Dalglish has done for the club, and in particular after Hillsborough, and that should not and probably will not be forgotten - but for the sake of maintaing Liverpool traditions and sensible rivalry between the two clubs - I think Dalglish needs to think harder about some of his post match comments.
I know I am probably in for a serious amount of abuse, but as a Man united fan of 35 years growing up with Liverpool winning everything - rivaly and banter is great - this is not what we want to see or hear.

    ReplyDelete
  86. u mean, you are a LFC fan who don't even own a jersey of your team?? that's pathetic..

    ReplyDelete
  87. you were never a lfc supporter then. no loss to the club. good riddance in fact.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I was amazed, but not any more. Some people are so sad that they think this is about what club people support. Their moral compasses are not simply off kilter, they simply don't exist at all.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Indeed. The 'groupthink' mentality of some fans is truly disturbing. It sickens me.

  94. Hi there - thanks for your comments. Rival fans are always welcome here. You will not receive abuse for voicing your opinion, and if you do, the idiot/s involved will be swiftly banned.

    ReplyDelete
  95. You are still stupid, aren't you?

    ReplyDelete
  96. who is Rik...sounds to me like a DICK....

    ReplyDelete
  97. So if Suarez claimed that pedophilia is okay and that raping women is fine where he comes from you'd undoubtedly keep supporting him no matter how much harm he does to the club's reputation? The club ALWAYS comes first, and Suarez and Dalglish are dragging Liverpool's once great reputation through the gutter. Everyone outside of Liverpool and it's supporter base sees Suarez and this incident for what it is. It's not just United. You people just don't seem to get that, nor can you find your way past the rampant tribalism that rules your lives. The sooner Dalglish and Suarez are out of Liverpool, the better off the team will be.

    ReplyDelete
  98. My advice to you is to join the BNP if you haven't already and go look for Hitler's ashes.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Finally, some old school sanity in our fanbase, hat off to you for recognising the values of the club and how Suarez is not adhering to them.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Well, Jeff, with your wisdom, you might find that a lot of people worldwide who are deciding who to support might go with United and Ferguson, rather than the racist apologists that have become LFC at the moment. If we don't care about losing millions over this, fair play. But there will be many more like Rik in future, so don't be so sure the club is happy to lose supporters just because you are a bonehead.

    ReplyDelete
  101. if you support liverpool FC then you should be supporting Dalglish and Suarez!!

    ReplyDelete
  102. Jim G, you are a sad man if you believe that. Good supporter, poor human being. Nice one!

    ReplyDelete
  103. tell me where u can find an unbiased view from the mainstream press in the past couple of months. i bet u read the daily mail every day

    ReplyDelete
  104. Jamie, your contrariness has gone too far.
The report did not say, and Suarez did not admit, that he he called Evra 'negro' and that is a stupid and incorrect thing for you to say.
He admits saying 'porque negro?' or 'why, black?'.

    Admit you're wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  105. "He planned the whole thing to happen that way..." Believe it or not some people on this thread who claim to have a stronger affiliation with the club than those who fail to agree with them are actually arguing this, it is actually quite predictable when you think about it Jaimie, it is expected from the current fanbase these days.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Nonsense, why did he say what happens on the pitch stays on the pitch?

And what about the aggro that he has caused his club, his manager and his teammates? Do you think that Evra really thinks that Suarez is right also? At best, it is a misunderstanding and Suarez should have been man enough to move on and take racism off the agenda. But he was not big enough to do it and all our bonehead supporters don't seem to mind and would rather lie about what took place instead.

    ReplyDelete
  107. You obviously never stood on the Kop, then, Jaimie. Because that was 'groupthink' mentality at it's best. One person would chant and within seconds it would be taken up by thousands of people who would instantly seem to know the words and the tune without ever having heard them before. And that is because we are, essentially, a tribe. I personally find it 'disturbing' that you continually churn out drivel. It's akin to lobbing a handgrenade, then standing back to watch the result. I find it 'disturbing' when people are shit at their jobs, but can't be sacked or reprimanded because of the fear that they will play the race card. Don't you?

    ReplyDelete
  108. It's you who is not the proper supporter, by the way. You are the one who represents the club in such a way to disgrace it by condoning racism, or whatever else our players decide to indulge in, and generally thinking it is up to you to decide who should support the club or not.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Oh shut up, what are you, a handshake analyst? How can you know what Evra is thinking?

    ReplyDelete
  110. Totally agree, Madness. It's like we're in the Twilight Zone or something. Fans who think that way clearly prioritise the individual over the club, and that's the most depressing thing.

Actually, more depressing than that is the thought that these fans are the future. Fifty years from now, all the moderate, reasonable fans will be dead and buried, and the paranoid, persecution complex mob will probably be the majority.

    ReplyDelete
  111. It will be interesting to see how Dalglish handles this, especially after going on record saying Suarez will shake Evra's hand. What a selfish little twat Suarez is.

    ReplyDelete
  112. claiming that he sees it, as a proper manager of liverpool tradition, he cannot condone behaviour which is being viewed by public as unsporting. yet as all great managers do in common, they back their players in the public. Any discussion/advise needed is done behind the scene. what is so difficult for people like you to understand? dont try to hold a moral high ground here. maybe you are more suited to write about religion. this is football. have abit of steel in your balls.

    ReplyDelete
  113.  by all means go ahead,

    ReplyDelete
  114. Because the issue was always about Suarez and Evra and it was expected that they would move on. Ferdinand has nothing to do with it so stop deflecting from the issue.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Sorry, but I don't understand. Surely shaking someone's hand when you don't mean it would be DISHONEST. Maybe Luis is just more principled than you, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  116. i am not white and i dont live in the UK but i have not for a second stop supporting becoz i dont listen to morons like you

    ReplyDelete
  117. Jeez, your denial is on an even more dangerous level that I previously thought. As matter of irrefutable RECORDED fact, Suarez used the word 'negro' in relation to Evra. Suarez admitted this in his witness statement. End of story.

What exactly are you trying to argue here? I've never argued that Suarez used 'negro' in a racist manner; that is open to debate. However, he DID use the word, whether you choose to accept it or not.

You even contradict yourself (!). First you say 'Suarez did not admit that he called Evra negro. You then say 'he admits saying 'Porque Negro'

    *shoots self*

    ReplyDelete
  118. If you want your comments to stay live then stop slagging off other users. One more time and I'll ban you.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I have stood on the Kop actually, many times. There is obviously positive and negative groupthink, and I am referring to the negative version.

    ReplyDelete
  120. All the people talking about the world cup, ferdinand, evra's past, suarez obviously has a great past, etc, etc, the main fact is that things were meant to move on today. The situation was meant to have been defused. Suarez should have wanted to do this for his club's reputation, his manager and his teamates, but he could not and would not do it. He is a disgrace, and i hope we sell him in the summer. If the club could sell supporters, I wish it would sell some of you knuckledragging racist apologists as well. You can't all be this stupid, so a lot of you must really be racist.

Hope most of you end up in Uruguay and get dogs abuse.

    ReplyDelete
  121. My advice to you is to stop using 'we' and 'our' in your sentences. do you sincerely think that you can pull this off? scums?

    ReplyDelete
  122. Hi Jaimie Kanwar, are you an Indian? If you are, can I call you an Indian? Am I a racist?

    ReplyDelete
  123. lol you sound like fergie

    ReplyDelete
  124. i think there is more to it but it is everybodies right not to shake hands if they dont wish to.
1/ was ferdinand being racist refusing to shake hands with suarez ?
2/  was cantona not a disgrace ? should he not have been sold etc ? oh fergusons law again and fa law again, hypocrisy of the highest order, no doubt the society of black lawyers will be on the case (no a black only organisation is not racist). its all a load of bull.

    ReplyDelete
  125. This whole thing is not about football. It is about personal dignity. Two men lost their dignity today and will find it very hard to get it back.

    ReplyDelete
  126. double standard? what about your mate gab? how many users has he slagged off?

    ReplyDelete
  127. so he is allowed to call others a bonehead? having a sad life? stupid? ban me then like i care

    ReplyDelete
  128. But he hasn't, has he timbo? He told a black man that he was, erm, a black man. I support the club, I support the player. And I am also grown up enough to make my mind up about how this whole issue started. If Kenny does go, then he will have been forced out by the media. If Luis goes, then Evra will have done his job. United only target people they consider a threat, you only have to look at the way Benitez was hounded.

    ReplyDelete
  129. spot on mate. if these people dislike how things are with the club, and the players, it is best that they supportother clubs instead of bitching around and even worse is that there are those who think they are holier than thou better than others. that sickens me the most

    ReplyDelete
  130. What i saw from tv is aired by the media and the media control what we saw. If they want us to see the side that confuse other that LFC is the bad side then should we believe? I would analyses the whole thing before making the final decision.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Principled? Are you sure you want to make that statement about Luis Suarez?

Handball on the line at the world cup and the over the top celebration afterwards.

    Biting players.

Pulling Rafaels hair when he was not even facing him

I love Suarez as a footballer, but to argue he has principles is fooling yourself

    ReplyDelete
  132. I'm ashamed of Dalglish's antics recently. And I have been a season ticket holder for 30 years.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Apparently so. So explain to me, Gab, why do YOU believe negro is a racist term? The report was at pains to say it "could" be deemed racist, if it was used in a heated exchange or, indeed, "whilst sneering" !!?? So am I being facetious or just thick?

    ReplyDelete
  134. The Spanish word negro - pronounced neh gro
Not the English word negro - pronounced nee grow

    Totally different meaning.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Handshake analyst, love it. It appears we have a few around this thread

    ReplyDelete
  136. Like everyone reading the report, making up their minds what was factually proven, what was hearsay, and what was hypothesis. And when we come up with a different opinion to you, it becomes a negative.

    ReplyDelete
  137. You said he "called him negro". He never.
    Do you not understand:
    1. The difference in 'saying' and 'calling'
    2. The difference in 'negro' and 'black'?

    You're making yourself look stupid

    ReplyDelete
  138. Terry Mac handled the ball on the line in a League Cup Final. A pen was awarded. No recrimination, no accusation of cheating, just an acceptance that it was an instinctive human reaction. How times change. If you really want to discuss over-the-top celebrations watch today's tape again. And I would argue that he has principles purely from the point of view that he has risked the wrath of the FA again, and more grief that he could do without, while remaining true to what he believes is right.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I know how you feel, as a player I worshipped him but I cant help think he has lost touch of how to carry himself

Fergie was asked if he saw Evra celebrating and wether he thought is was excessive. He responded by saying it was wrong and that he shouldnt have done that.

Kenny is asked about the handshake, cue an Oscar winning performance of denial... he did the same thing the other day when he claimed he did not know how many titles Utd had won. He just does not know how to handle himself in front of the media - I think it wouldnt be a bad idea if S. Clarke did the interviews

    ReplyDelete
  140. Maybe he didn't see it...

    ReplyDelete
  141. thats bull watch how far he puts his hand out to henderson then pulls it back in for suarez guarenteed some channel sky sports or somethin will get a body language expert to look at and u will be proven wrong jamie and evra deserved to be punished for inciting the crowd at the end

    ReplyDelete
  142. I guess I must be a poor human being, then.

    ReplyDelete
  143. I've said this before but really, with 'supporters' like you Jamie who needs ManU fans?!
All of a sudden youre against Dalglish and Suarez.  Previously you had a hard on for Rafa that went on and on.  LFC need some back up at a time like this when everyone is jumping on the Fergie bandwagon.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Berating your fellow fans because of how much money they are able to spend is the truly pathetic thing here.

My shirt still says Carlsberg on it. Are you gonna call me less of a fan? I work abroad now and have to pay far more than most to watch our games.

    ReplyDelete
  145. rape r u serious?get a fucking grip wat ever he called evra evra said in his statement he doesnt believe suarez is a racist we still support him so ryan giggs rides his on brothers missus n united fans support him think thats alot worse than a name

    ReplyDelete
  146. Just support the team the same way whether winning or losing and that makes you more of a fan than most. Believe me.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Why is anyone who has an opinion that differs from yours a "fascist", "racist" or "Nazi"?

    ReplyDelete
  148. Being a supporter means you don't get to choose when you support the team. If you only cheer when we're winning then you might as well get lost.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Firstly i believe Evra took what Suarez said out of context, as every human does on a daily basis. Evra isn't to blame, but nor is Suarez entirely, he made a cultural misquote. If someone accused me of being racist, and caused mass vilification of me during the previous 2 months, i wouldn't forgive to easy either and would welcome the choice to choose myself whether to shake someones hand . If i were Suarez I would probably have shaken the hand of Evra and put and end to this overblown story, but then again i haven't been put through or made to endure what Suarez has hat to endure with, being called a out and out racist-which is wrong and far from the truth. Suarez made a mistake, he's human, but this vilification and hounding of him by media and general public is just as bad if not worse then anything said to Evra. It's a disgusting witch hunt, and the sentence doesn't fit the crime. Suarez isn't racist, how dare anyone condemn Suarez  for feeling a tiny bit aggrieved and allow him the personal choice to shake/ or not to shake his accusors hands. Not saying he's not within his right to do so, but Evras silence in all  this may have also fuelled the flames of media and people to make up their own minds up...maybe if there was some discussion between the two this wouldn't have gone this far. In this sense both could be said to be guilty, both thinking they're right and have been wronged, both too proud to work things out. Others from both sides need to also need to look at themselves for fanning the flames of hatred.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Well said Jeff, a sensible response...  Why would Evra want to shake the hands with someone he accused of racially abusing him? Evra is a clever operator and knows EXACTLY what he is doing.  Look at his antics at the end of the game - trying to calm the storm?

    ReplyDelete
  151. And pulling another players hair from behind? I was always taught to that if you hit someone from behind it is an act of a coward. What are your thoughts on the sly hair pull of Rafael? Principled?

    ReplyDelete
  152. Ah, the 'persecution complex' eh

    ReplyDelete
  153. I think you are over sensitive and critical. It's clear you have an axe to grind, and I personally believe that Liverpool fans will side with Kenny 6 days a week and twice on sunday over your comments on Kenny. You fail to give credit, while although you have time to contemplate on your views made in this article, Kenny is not so lucky, put on the spot on live television. I was too young to remember Kenny Dalgleish giving on the spot interviews in the 80s, put can only say i am well impressed by his dignity, his ability to express himself so eloquently in the face of such pressure and spotlight being shined in his direction. Trust me, it's not because he's Liverpool boss, it's because he's a descent individual who has unmovable ethics and morals, even when it would be easy to sing to the masses on certain issues. Congratulations Sir Kenny Dalgleish, you are a credit to LFC, it's fans and history

    ReplyDelete
  154. The comments by Dalglish on this issue today were extremely childish. I would far rather he had turned around and said that he respected Saurez for not being a hypocrite and accepted a handshake that was meaningless. Wayne Bridges earned more respect for refusing to shake hands with Terry than if he had gone through with the gesture. Saurez does not like Evra, but then who does, and the feeling is obviously mutual, as displayed by the boorish antics of this mancunian cretin at the end of the game. And as for the comments by that pimp Ferdinand, his understanding of the word respect derives from the hoodlum fraternity! That's United done with for this season so let's put it to rest until the whole thing is ressurected again by the media in six months time

    ReplyDelete
  155. Gordon Taylor of the PFA has argued that the manner in which Suarez refused Evra's handshake was worrying. I doubt anyone will be getting a body language expert to review, its only some of our own fans that have become expert analysts on body language and blamed Evra, who would have thought it eh?

    ReplyDelete
  156. I have also read the report and evra said he called him a negro ten times "was that not a lie?" plus the report had loads of ambiguity someone's word against someone else's, good job the fa don't run the death penalty panel.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Icarereallydontyou9:09 pm, February 11, 2012

The more I read Jamie Kuntwar's comments , the more I feel this is a journalist discrediting Liverpool indirectly a.k.a cowardly. Everyone get of this site, it's only set up to earn some pennies for Kuntwar....

    ReplyDelete
  158. Then go somewhere else if you dont want to support LFC

    ReplyDelete
  159. I can see where your support for the angelic knight of the realm is coming from given Fergie fired these united players for disgracing the club, King Eric Cantona (United player of the century) for kung fu kicking a fan, Schmiechel for racially abusing Ian Wright as well as Rio for forgetting a compulsory drug test.
Jaap Stam miraculously survived questioning Fergie and exposing inner workings in the dressing room though.

    ReplyDelete
  160. then F*ck off......you are not a supporter and LFC do not want your support.....

    ReplyDelete
  161. JAMIE you are a JOKE.....A JOKE........Go Fu*ck off and write about UTD you are a CUNT

    ReplyDelete
  162. JAMIE GO AWAY GO AND WRITE ABOUT UTD THEN, YOU SHIT HOUSE

    ReplyDelete

  164. ~£$% off then........................bye

  165. Read all the comments, so Gab is allowed to slag other users for their opinions n comments, coz he has a similliar opinion of yours but if someone else does it they get warned

    ReplyDelete
  166. couldnt be bothered to read half these shite posts. agree kenny aint helping himself, but its a touchy subject to talk about, no matter wat other abuse is said to people, just dont say the n-word. sorry its soft, just my opinion. im not a racist and i dont have to explain myself.
dont blame suarez at all, evra (trouble maker) has tarnished and has pretty much damaged suarezs chance of a good life in england.
downing has got to go asap

    ReplyDelete
  167. Amen to that. We all seem to have been consumed by this since before Christmas. I for one have developed a siege mentality, circled the wagons, battened down the hatches, and any other banal analogy you can think of. I know that I have talked of little else, at the match, at work and at home. And all because I felt I had to defend MY club against a sustained bout of "Churnalism", misinformation and diatribe. Time to move on.

Evra is still a sneaky, hypocritical, nasty piece of work, though.
    Sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  168. How about a warning for Gab, who is being just as abusive? Or does he get a pass because he agrees with your views?

    ReplyDelete
  169. Stop for one moment and think!!! he refused to 'shake his hand'!!! that's it...lol. He didn't tackle anybody, or threaten anybody, spit at anybody he just never shook his hand....jeeeez Fergie has played us all like a 10 pence flute!!!!

Fergie is a hypocrite! Do you remember Shemichael racially abusing  Ian Wright?
Shemichael played united for years after that.

    ReplyDelete
  170. There’s a lot of new points here!

Dalglish called for a summit a few weeks ago and Fergie didn’t think
there was a need. After today’s game we can alls see there obviously was
a need for that sumit. Evra told Fergie that he’d shake hands with
Suarez however, in keeping with the debacle of a trial did anybody
bother to ask Suarez was he willing to shake hands? I guess not! If you
truly believe that you’re innocent then why would you shake hands?

A precedent had already been set in the Chelski v QPR game when the
FA asked both players to do and removed the handshake at the beginning
of the game completely. This was the right thing to do? Govern!!!

Also if (as sky sports Man united pundits would have you believe)
Evra was the bigger man why did he aggressively grab Suarez at the
non-handshake? Why did he go after Suarez in the tunnel? And why did he
make a b-line at the end of the game so he could dance in front of
Suarez and nearly insight a riot!

See this is the same Evra who wrongfully accused Chelski ground staff
of racism and who brought shame to the entire French nation in the
World Cup. He’s a classless individual and I can understand how people
    don’t take to him.

Also Kenny Dalglish was right in criticizing Sky Sports! The 2
biggest clubs in England played a game today and the post match coverage
consisted of 5 mins on the game and 45 mins on a handshake??? I
subscribed to Sky Sports not Sky Drama! Sky Sports need to get their
house in order. Their coverage of the game (sorry proceedings) today was
    shocking !

    ReplyDelete
  171. has anyone thought that Suarez is still appealing his innoncence. He may have said some things, but he knows himself he is not a racist. But he is labeled and catergorized as a racist. Its like having a Online Id name for a game called Rapist, it doesn't mean the owner of the account is a rapist.  In my opinion Evra played baby, and is highly emotional or just lied. Suarez is accepting defeat and Evra's view about the whole drama if he shaked his hands. He doesn't agree with how things went with the guilty verdict. Dalglish believes the same thing too. Why shake hands if you don't agree. And why appeal if you know what the result is favored towards. The way he looked into the camera like he is a ambassador to human rights was disgusting. I may be wrong and I may be right, but the fact that Liverpool have gone on great lengths to support Suarez putting reputation on the line, and back him, as well as Suarez not shaking his hands shows that people shouldn't believe everything that comes out of the television set. Who knows what really went down. the 150 page report wasn't concrete enough for me. I wonder if Suarez was nervous during court after bieng put in a postion like that. I just wonder. Only God knows the truth.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Rik  Who are you trying to kid. You are a Manc pretending to be a LFC fan. You are only kidding yourself. Get a life.  Perhaps like me KD thinks Suarez  has been stitched up by Evra and the FA. Have a look at Evra on You tube.

    ReplyDelete
  173. I place a lot of what I think of Evra on his youtube outburst. Disgusting language which tells me a lot about him. Ask the Chelsea official what he thinks about Evra when Evra tried to stitch him up.  A captain what a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  174. is from pakistan... Evra says why did you do that Paki, Suarez replies because you are black. thne Evra complains about being called racist name when he was the one who call him racist nam in first place. Ask yourself if you believed someone had lied about you to get you in trouble. would you shake his hand in public giving the impression that everything was alright and you accepted this persons lies as truth?

    ReplyDelete
  175. ShanklyIsTurningInHisGrave10:32 pm, February 11, 2012

What is wrong with you people ????? You are not LFC fans. Stop doing what KK is doing and being blinded by the club. He DID make racist comments, he admitted it. He DID look like a fool today. He DID bring shhme on the name of LFC. And KK DID, yet again, look like he is deluded. These are facts. Whether we like it or not these are the facts.

Cue the predictable "you're not an LFC fan" comments...........

    ReplyDelete
  176. Why the uproar about Suarez not shaking Evra’s black (politically correct) hand? The FA of England on behalf of all English people condoned racism by stopping ALL handshakes in the QPR v Chelsea pre-match build-up.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Bitter sad racist...thats what Suarez has proven himself to be....ignorant, belligerent twat with wenger syndrome....is what Daglish is and has. And if any Liverpool supporters are bitter and blind enough to see the real truth. You need to seriously evalute your mental states!

    ReplyDelete
  178. What race is South American....Did not realise that was a racist insult...and i have read the report three times (sad i know)...have you read and more importantly were you able to understandit...

    ReplyDelete
  179. Is it me missing something...you admit that Suarez said "porque negro" all you have done is translated it ....he does still use the word negro...do not understand your point...i note you have not said anything about the phrase used "porque tu est  negro" "because you are black" would love to see your explanation of this one...and this was what the LFC management said Suarez said to them and Dowd wrote it down as a witness and had to ask Comoli to spell it...ultimately the LFC and Suarez descrepancy is what got Suarez convicted...

    ReplyDelete
  180. I watched replay`s of the incident Evra keep his hand up at a certain level until Suarez comes across. Evra drops his hand slighty and Suarez probably thought fuck you and moved on. The celebrations after the match where way over the top by Evra. Why on earth do players have to shake hands? Where is it written they must do this?

    ReplyDelete
  181. I cannot believe how sucked everyone gets due the bile the media spew out, everyone laps it up. Only two people will ever know what was really said between Suarez and Evra. As a die hard red, I want to believe Luis. Evra has form for lying to an FA investigation. Suarez was found guilty without any evidence, it was against probability percentage not fact, you cannot convict someone unless you have the facts and can prove it. Suarez wasn't proved to be a racist, FACT. If he isn't guilty then I can fully understand why he doesn't want to shake the hand of Evra, who has just got him an 8 match ban and the condemnation of the whole footballing community. Is it really that bad, that he didn't shake the hand of his accuser??? I love the way the media take the moral high ground, and now we have to put up with these bedroom website warriors like the author of this site. Get a grip for gods sake.

    ReplyDelete
  182. watched it over and over again its evra pulls his hand away if suarez didnt want to shake hands why would he have it out stretched why not pull it away like ferdinand and if he was such a racist how come every team he has played for had black players and not one existing or ex team mates have said anything against him strange that isn't it

    ReplyDelete
  183. but in the contxt of a highly charged game it is racist....and used to wind someone up is racist....end of.. no excuse

    ReplyDelete
  184. He admitted to KD and Comoli and Dowd had to ask Comoli to spell tu est "you are" so he has admitted to his own management.... or were they lying and in the end it condemed their man..

    ReplyDelete
  185. It was a little foolish of Suarez to not shake Evra's hand. The gesture would have established that the incident between them was forgiven. Whatever anybody else thinks to the contrary, it was the right thing to do. Now we have uproar because of it and more fuel is added to the whole racism issue. That simple gesture would have gone a long way to ease a lot of tension. Suarez and the club accepted the ban without appeal and Suarez must live with that however hard done by he feels about it. As far as shaking the hand of Evra goes, you can still think, "You're a c**t" to someone even while you're shaking their hand.

    ReplyDelete

  187. Liverpool are a great club and yes I barrack for united.
I have always enjoyed our tussles over the past 35 years of watching them. Liverpool where always the better team early in my life and since SAF we have had the upper hand much to my enjoyment.  I have always repsected Liverpool as a club.

So it is that I truly feel sorry for LFC that they have been lumbered with this situation. I understand that the fans need to defend their club and Suarez is a part of it. I just wish that he had of done the right thing and shook Evras hand and we could get back to "The Real Game".

I have totally lost the deep repsect I had for LFC and its fans due to the understandable but ultimately undefendable behaviour of Suarez.

Good luck LFC you will need it as the whole world now thinks your club is racist and ignorant.
