LUIS SUAREZ admits: "I didn't realise how good he was until I arrived..."

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is currently kicking his heels on the sidelines as he serves his 8-match ban, but whilst he's out, he will have plenty of opportunities to watch Steven Gerrard in action, a player he described yesterday as a 'fantastic player'.

Speaking to Goal.com, Suarez was full of praise for Liverpool's captain, who has now scored three goals in his last three games:

"Steven is a great player, I didn’t realise how good until I came here.

"He trains
how he plays and is a fantastic player and servant for this club. Having him back
will help the team."

Suarez also reiterated his enthusiasm for Liverpool FC:

"I was so excited to sign for Liverpool, it was a dream come true and I hope for
a long career with them.

"I grew up watching them and they are a club with such a big
history, especially in the Champions League, and fantastic players"

  5. Great comments from Suarez. He's one player I really hope the club can keep long-term. To be able to mould the squad around him, Lucas, Agger, Reina, Johnson and obviously Gerrard in the short-term would be great.
