The prevailing view amongst Liverpool fans seems to be that the defeat against Bolton yesterday could've been avoided if Lucas Leiva was playing. I don't personally subscribe to that viewpoint; for me, shambolic defending was the problem, and that still would've happened even if Lucas had played. However, overall, the team definitely misses the Brazilian's solidity in central midfield. Well, the good news is that the first stage of Lucas's injury rehabilitation is over, and he's now back in the UK to continue with his recovery.
Lucas has been recovering in Sao Paolo for the last six weeks, but he returned to Liverpool a few hours ago to continue his rehabilitation. He tweeted:
"After 6 weeks here in Sao Paulo it is time to come back home and start the next stage of the rehab. Just Arrived in London. On my way to Liverpool".
Lucas was full of praise for the help he received in Brazil:
"I want to thanks everyone here [in Sao Paolo] for the hard work and the excellent time I had here".
Prior to leaving Brazil yesterday, Lucas tweeted:
"At the airport waiting to depart. How is the game?"
Luckily for him, he didn't get to the see the horror show at the Reebok Stadium (!) Lucas's recovery seems to be right on schedule, and with any luck, he should be fit and raring to go for the start of next season. Elsewhere on twitter, Luis Suarez tweeted his support for his team-mates:
"We couldn't win today but I trust a lot on my teammates, I can't wait to play again"
Believe me, we can't wait for you to play again either!

Another one of those crap Benitez signings eh Jaimie?
ReplyDeleteBenitez made many crap signings, but I've never argued that Lucas was one of them. Just because Benitez made good signings doesn't mean he didn't make bad signings too.
ReplyDeleteI can not wait for Suarez to come back after being stitched up by the FA and Evra
ReplyDeleteEvery manager makes good and bad signings. It goes with the job. Not that many "supporters" acknowledge that
ReplyDeleteHe made more good signings then bad, and if the so called bad signings didn't fit in the team then he would ship them out, for example Keane, instead of giving them game after game getting bad performances from them.
ReplyDeleteSOONER THEY ARE BOTH BACK THE BETTER
ReplyDeleteWe need RAFA back NOW, KK is taking LFC nowhere and will be replaced by the end of the season, but the last one LFC need is Martin O'Neill!
ReplyDeleteJaimie is still a whining passive aggressive little girl!
ReplyDeleteLucas - one of the most average ever to wear the red shirt - clearly shows how far backwards we've gone if we miss a player of his quality.
ReplyDeleteliverpool are on the turn i have faith in the players and kenny, they can preform and will do, kenny will give them a kick up the hoop, to get them goin again, remember half time in istanbul, if any team can turn it around its liverpool, the fans need to get behind the team
ReplyDeletePick him for Wednesday night ! Even with his leg in plaster he would be an improvement on some of the so called performances yesterday !
ReplyDeleteas bad as the defence was, we lost the game in midfield, mainly down to adams offering nothing defensivly or going forward, gerrard was as good as on his own.
ReplyDeletelucas does the simple things good and reads the game well.
so for me he would of made a big difference, and we have missed him simple as that.
every manager makes bad signings even fergie and jose m.
Why is that 'GREAT NEWS'??? Another misleading headline Jamie implying we have some other player on their way.
ReplyDeleteLucas is a great player for us, he does the dirty work well in getting stuck in, tackling and giving it to stevie G, he can get forwards too but he's a real miss..as we all saw against bolton adam can't tackle for sh..We have missed Lucas and will be happy to see him return
ReplyDeleteYNWA
alankay you Muppet you know nothing about football he absolutely bosses the midfield voted the best player in the north west and yes the north west includes the 2 manc scum teams he gets in brazil team every time b4 anderson u haven't a clue
ReplyDeleteif you think lucas is average, what the hell do you make of adam, henderson and that dollop carroll. those three should never wear a lfc shirt again, no heart, no passion and no ability
ReplyDeleteI can't understand why we can't give youzngaters a go in attack if were
ReplyDeleteSo blatantly lacking up front
How about seeing if Rafa's old mate Pako Ayestaran wants a job back has Kenny's assistant coach!
ReplyDeletewhen i read this morning liverpool are about to buy some guy from rangers after west ham ended there interest in him,,this sums liverpool up at the moment ,top 4 finish lol , bargain basement buys in january ,100 million wasted in the summer on crap ,,GOD something needs to change or liverpool will slowly be no better than a fulham or stoke believe me when i say this if we don,t end up anywhere near fourth the exodus in the summer will leave us for many a year in mid table or lower positions,if the money is there spend it on top european players, but i fear the damage is already done with the dealings last summer, people have there opinion on rafa but i believe there was a lot of shit going on behind the scenes with those two yanks towards the end ,,,,,rafa made us feared in europe two champs finals in three years, close to winning the league ,and there was a time we had one of the best midfields in the world,i was just wondering if rafa had the backing of the present owners , proper funds ,new stadium plans, things would be a lot better looking than currently,it is for this reason i believe bring rafa back.,,,it is with a heavy heart i say kenny and the chief scout has to go,,the players bought are below average ,, the current players we are linked to in january are even worse than the ones brought in over the last twelve months, which brings me to the point that the manager and chief scout are doing more damage than good ,,,nobody can argue about kennys love for the club but it is our own love for kenny that is ruining the club we love ,kenny once said he would be happy to let another manager manage liverpool if they where to do a better job than him,,,on reflection of the last twelve months ,,,,i feel there would be better..
ReplyDeleteand what about KK's assistants? are they the ones who are turning his head with team selection and subs...one from chelsea and west ham! why not the old anfield greats...
ReplyDeleteYou're a clown! Lucas is the most improved player not only for Liverpool but the EPL!
ReplyDeleteClown... You don't even know a good footballer if he came and kicked you up the back side!
Loser!
Oh my "Puki Mak". Lucas is back. Watch out Man City and MU!
ReplyDeleteEvery Ronaldo hides a Djemba Djemba
ReplyDeleteClarke got Sammy Lee pushed out for his old mate Keane..West Ham's back room boys what do we expect ?
ReplyDeleteAll you lunatics out there who suggest to sack Kenny and bring back Rafa,Rafa is a good manager.Probably the best when it comes to Technique and tactics. But the reason he finished 6th was his falling out with Carragher and Stevie ,If you want him back both Gerrard and Carragher has to leave the club.Your choice, and to be fair to Kenny I'd like him to see out his contract.
ReplyDeleteyou havent a clue he never fell out with stevie g or carra he did fall out with the owners ,if anything carra has spoken of his love for rafa, steve g may of questioned his tactics when torres was taken off ,,,but we all know now that torres was half hearted and lazy towards the end and ran around huffing,,,ur proclaiming we finished 6th because carra and steve g,,fell out with rafa,,do me a favour m8 if u supported liverpool week in week out instead of watching the odd match on the tele, you would understand that ur comment saying because of two players we finished 6th is not just a lie but an insult to the rest of the team and to liverpool as a club,,,,its also an insult to carra and stevie to say they played half hearted because they fell out with rafa,,i think u would be better commenting on something u may have knowledge on instead of drumming up comments that have no evidence of truth.
ReplyDeleteI remember a couple of years ago when Kanwar used to slate Lucas and now he licks his arse.
ReplyDeleteKanwar, You're a cunt
