The Agent of talented attacker Lucas Moura has once again confirmed that the Brazilian will not be leaving Sao Paulo for the Premier League this month.
In early January, Moura's agent Wagner Ribeiro told a Brazilian radio station that Liverpool had put in a bid for the exciting starlet:
"I received three offers for my client [Moura] from Chelsea, Inter and Liverpool".
A few days later, Moura told reporters that he had no plans to leave Sao Paulo:
"I will stay at Sao Paulo. You will see a more motivated Lucas who has a desire to succeed"
Speaking to reporters yesterday, Ribereiro was again asked about the possibility of Moura moving to a European club in January, and once again, he dismissed the possibility:
"We know of the interest, we were informed of the news, but the player does not want to go. We are not open to talks because Lucas has expressed an interest in staying. Sao Paulo also have no desire to open negotiations."
I think it's safe to say that Moura will not be moving to Liverpool, Chelsea or Inter Milan in January (!)
All is not lost though; Ribeiro also confirmed that Moura could possible be available in the summer:
"The club [Sao Paolo] will not sell Lucas at this stage and will turn down every single offer. However, in June we will talk about that again..."

Very exciting player, he is explosive!
ReplyDeleteAre we going to honestly sign anyone in this window? Im asking seriously, does anyone know if we are actually going to sign someone in Jan? I know management keep it close to home but there were rumors about downing and henderson and they were true. There has been nine hundred players linked to us this window are we going to get one? Texeria?
ReplyDeleteOh my "Puki Mak", transfer window is gonna close soon and we are still talking! Get cracking now if that is the striker you want. What happened to Llorente and a few others earlier identified? I dont want to "Kunkit" with any of them.
ReplyDeleteKenny please buy players now and pay later (similar to the Aqua deal), if we get into the CL thens its job done if not your reputation is seriously on the line.
ReplyDeletep.s your new signings need a term in the reserves just so that they can see the emerging talents targeting their position and also it may help them to step up their own game.
Oh go away! Liverpool buys only rubbish. They then play them week in week out.
ReplyDeleteThis is a player that has what Liverpool needs, he is quick, has technic, can drible, has attributes LFC badly needs.
ReplyDeleteWe have seen that PL experience doesn't mean instant hit at LFC, something that Suarez was, despite coming from abroad.
I'm not saying he needs to live up to Suarez, but he can hardly do worse than Downing.
so depressed that we will not get this guy. He won't come to us. We can't even give him Chamipons League football. He'll go somewhere else. Most exciting young player from Brazil coming to Liverpool? I wish.
ReplyDeleteI've never watched him play a game and am averse to purchasing players with such high price tags anyway.
ReplyDeleteBarca could afford to spend £35m on a single player as they have the quality throughout the squad to cover him if the player fails/is injured. Liverpool on the other hand have so many holes in the squad that we'd be better off picking up 2 or 3 talented slightly lesser players reputationally, rather than one world class prospect and having him surrounded by garbage.
By all accounts the guy isn't proven yet anyway. There are very few players worth such ridiculous sums of money, and those are sure bets like Ronaldo or Messi, not talented prospects that have talent but haven't backed it up with consistent performances as yet. That's just my opinion though...
