LFC INJURY UPDATE: Latest on Luis Suarez...

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has confirmed that Luis Suarez was injured against Stoke last night.

Dalglish said:

"He got himself injured by trying to stay on his feet when he went round Jonathan Woodgate when there was contact just before half-time.

“He’s got a bang on his calf. He’s hurt himself trying to get a chance"

This is every Liverpool fan's worst nightmare at the moment, but hopefully it's not too serious, and with any luck, Suarez will be available for the West Brom game on Saturday.

I'm sure Dalglish will provide a further update during his press conference later today. Watch this space.

UPDATE: Kenny Dalglish has provided another update on Suarez's fitness. You can read it here -->>

  2. your headline is such a lie. he might be available for the next game so hardly bad news is it.  even if he was out we have bellamy, maxi, kuyt and carroll to step in so we have more than adequate cover

  3. How is it a lie? KD specifically states he was 'injured; and that he was 'hurt'. Is KD lying too? It definitely is news, and there are lots of fans who would like to know this info. You don't know if he'll be available for the next game, neither do I.

What a difference a year (with some glorious goals and assists) makes! Where would we be now if we'd taken that piece of high-minded advice?

  6. you dont need to panic like that just to get some attention, after the game luis and kenny looked great and no worried about that hurt, might have been a knock or something but not a serious injury but I understand why you doing this as long as you run a football site, but honestly theres no need to upset fans like this for nothing.

  7. Pointless Headline Clicker2:27 pm, October 27, 2011

I agree, what a pointless headline. Implies that it is worse than it is. I don't mind giving you page impressions to make some money out of ad views but if you're going to write rubbish I won't come back.

  8. It doesn't change the fact that Suarez is a cheat.  That article has nothing to do with Suarez's ability.

  9. Be fair he could have gone down lastnight, It was a peno but he stayed on his feet!!!

  10. Rooney is a cheat, so is Drogba, Gerrard dived too, and if you refer to Suarez's Ghana so-called incident he did a brilliant thing.

He got sent off for his handball and Ghana had a penalty so he got everything that was coming to him for his foul.
I dont even think handball Henry played against Ireland should be held against him, referring mistake, not Henry's.

Should every player come to the ref and say, "hey the ball touched my hand a little so it's not a corner it's a penalty for the other side" or just the stupid ones should do that.

  11. Not to worry, Suarez recovers very fast from injuries. He's a strong guy and takes knocks in his strides.

  31.  How is he a cheat ?

I havent seen a more honest player since all tha big money came into the game in the 90's .

He is so honest he sacrificed his personal ambitions for the good of his country at the world cup by committing a foul & stopping a certain goal , wat a great team player !

Him , Carra & Gerrard got heart & soul !!!

Suarez never stops , he's at it every second of every minute he is on the pitch & he is so good defenders have now started butchering him .

If he doesnt know how to already he is going to have to learn how to dive otherwise one of those dirty B*stards are going to break his leg.

  32. So? By your definition Gerrard's a cheat too but you love him don't you?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Plus, it's hardly 'every' Liverpool fan's worst nightmare, is it Jaimie?
You don't want him playing for us under any circumstances, do you? Or have you changed your position on cheats?

  34. I love Liverpool as there no threat there my favourite 2nd team.

  35. The premier league is such a thuggish league at times, defenders are constantly kicking, pushing or grabbing attacking players. Has it occurred to anyone that its a foul if a defending player takes away the balance from an attacking player without touching the ball.

Its unfair to attacking players when they get continually nudged by defenders, because that little nudge is usually enough to put a player off from what he can do weather its a shot, pass, or a form of trickery. People complain about how Suarez goes down "easily" but I bet you if defenders actually had a clean mind and got contact with the ball instead of Suarez's body ( whether its minimal contact or not) they would do it all the time, but they can't read Suarez. So they resort to cheap tactics, and complain to refs that they had minimal contact and he went down easy. But a player of Suarez's delicacy on ball control, that little nudge is all it takes, so why do people blame Suarez for going down easy.

Suarez opted to take a shot after getting kicked by Woodgate, that shot was impacted by that contact. The contact was easily a foul, but the foul can only be recognized if the player goes down. Its ridiculous because about 80 percent of fouls, a player can opt to stay on his feet if he really tried but how many of those fouls would be whistled if a player did that? Its unrealistic to think that players going down easily are divers, because its not true. Contact has been made, and it may not hurt at all but that contact has a direct impact on what the player is trying to do.

Suarez tries to go past players, defenders hinder him without even glancing at the ball. People say you have to be strong to play in the PremierLeague, why do you think that is?

  36. I genuinely worry for us if we can't weigh up the pros and cons of a potential signing and overlook some of the unsavoury parts of their game if it guarantees us a good return. For too long, LFC has been naively trundling along with the notion that 'The Liverpool Way' is something tangible and that 'justice' and 'football knowledge' are virtues that only we possess. And that our history is something that anyone other than Liverpool supporters gives a shit about.

I'll concede that I shuddered a little when we were linked with Adebayor, but I'd definitely have celebrated every one of the guaranteed goals we'd have got from him, albeit for probably only 1 season.

With Suarez, it baffled me how I seemed to be in a minority of supporters who was genuinely overjoyed just to be linked with Suarez, and subsequently bemused by the club's less than urgent attitude towards his eventual signing.

My ONLY misgiving with Luis Suarez was when I considered him a typical Manchester United player - brilliant and technical, but with a reputation for bending the rules at times and for splitting public opinion. Basically, the kind of player we should have been signing for years but either couldn't afford, couldn't attract, or sadly were too up our own arses with indignation to sign.

20 years ago, football had more heart than it has today. The supporters of LFC have all the heart in the world still, but the club lacks brains off the pitch and balls on it.

  37. Jaimie, if you hate Liverpool so much, why do you spend so much time pretending to be a fan?  Do you really need the attention that much?  I feel a bit sorry for you.  Always pretending to be the lone voice of reason.  But for you LFC would be far worse off.  And if LFC listened to your advice, we'd win 5 trophies every year, right??

You arm chair fans make me laugh, you make up stats and pretend that you know all about the game. But really none of us have ever seen you at Anfield.  Most people believe you are a Yank, or from Bristol, or are a Troll.  I've even seen loads of people who say you are a convicted nonce.  Which doesn't come as a surprise tbh.

In any event, you should go back to the Manc websites and chat with your mates on there.  You can extol the virtues of OPN and slag off Gerrard and the rest of our team, plus attack scousers like you  normally do..
