12th September 1989. Five games into a Liverpool's last championship winning season and the club was preparing for the sad departure of John Aldridge to Real Sociedad. That evening, Crystal Palace arrived at Anfield, completely unaware that they were about to be taught the mother of all footballing lessons.
Liverpool put on a breathtaking display of sublime attacking football and absolutely hammered Palace 9 - 0. Eight different players got on the scoresheet and Aldo himself came on in the second half to score a trademark penalty in front of the Kop.
A truly fitting end to a glorious Liverpool career. Enjoy!
