'Fantastic': Arsenal hero hails 'brilliant' €28m Liverpool start for 'expert' impact vs. Everton. Star vs. Stoke?

Arsenal legend Lee Dixon has hailed Daniel Sturridge's match-winning impact on Liverpool's victory over Everton.

Co-commenting on the game for NBC Sports, Dixon - who won the Premier League title with Arsenal - enthused^:

"Not many people can get their shot away like that. Sturridge is an expert at that - it’s the accuracy, not the power, and he did fantastic”.

Sturridge's intentions were obvious as soon as he started to cut inside, and Everton - who had plenty of players behind the ball - could've (and should've) done more to snuff out the €28m striker's heavily the telegraphed shot.

Still, kudos to Sturridge for creating the goal, and to Sadio Mane for reacting like greased lightning after the ball hit the post.

Given his susceptibility to injury, I full expect that Sturridge pulled a muscle or something after getting his shot off, but it's a vital three points in the bag, so all's well that ends well ;-)

The big question now is this: who should start upfront against Stoke City? Liverpool have seven clear days of rest time before facing the Potters at Anfield, and that's more than enough time for Sturridge to recover from tonight's cameo appearance.
