Sign for LFC? Ex-Red claims he's 'told Liverpool' to sign 'excellent' £20m sensation

Ex-Red Chris Kirkland has advised Liverpool to sign one of the Premier League's brightest young prospects.

Speaking to BT Sport this week, Kirkland explained:

“I told Liverpool to sign Jordan Pickford. He will have all of the top clubs looking at him - not just in England, but in Europe as well. He could be one of the best in the world – he is the best I have worked with, that's for sure".

Some info about £20m-rated Pickford, who is reportedly already on Liverpool's transfer radar:

* Sunderland: 25 goals conceded in 16 games (One every 57 mins). 2 clean sheets.

* 2nd highest number of saves this season (Behind Burnley's Tom Heaton).

* Joint highest number of claims in the box.

* Joint second highest number of successful punches.

* Nov 2016: David Moyes raved: "He [Pickford] has been excellent for us, and hopefully he will become England’s number one for the future. He has the attributes".

* Nov 2016: After Sunderland's victory over Bournemouth, BBC pundit Jermaine Jenas enthused: "He was absolutely sensational. When you’ve got a goalkeeper in this type of form it’s such an asset to David Moyes".

* Dec 2016: When asked about Pickford's future, Moyes conceded: "If he [Pickford] keeps performing at the level he is, I’m sure he’s going to draw attention from big clubs.”

With Danny Ward also at the club, do Liverpool need another young goalkeeper. As a comparison, here are Ward's stats for the season so far:

* 27 goals conceded in 21 games (One every 70mins). 4 clean sheets.
