Boss Raves: 'Influential' £48m Liverpool star is a 'magician' and deserves international prominence

After years of being on the fringes, Philippe Coutinho is finally in the ascendency for Brazil, and according his boss, Tite, Coutinho is fully deserving of his promotion.

Speaking to reporters this week, Tite hailed Coutinho as a 'magician' and explained his new-found prominence for Brazil:

"Why Coutinho instead of Willian? This is Coutinho's moment. With his passes, he opens the lines, and creates space. I like his mobility, he was influential in both [previous qualifying] games."

In my view, it's an absolute joke that Brazil ignored Coutinho for the World Cup 2016, but selected players like Fred, Jo, and Bernard, all of whom play in significantly weaker leagues.

That said, Coutinho's omission ended up being a blessing in disguise, as he escaped being forever tainted by Brazil's 7-1 annihilation by Germany.

Coutinho started to repay Tite's faith last night with a goal in Brazil's 5-0 victory over Bolivia. Now, Liverpool fans will be hoping and praying that the 'Magician' makes it through the next game without picking up an injury.
