Transfer Update: Legend urges 'amazing' £40m 'Liverpool' star to quit Anfield and sign for 'Real Madrid'

Real Madrid legend Ronaldo has urged Barcelona to sign one of Liverpool's most important players.

Speaking to El Transitor this week, Ronaldo urged his fellow countryman to ditch Anfield for the Bernabeu:

"I would like to see Coutinho at Real Madrid, the Liverpool player."

In his recent autobiography, Reds legend Steven Gerrard predicted that Liverpool will lose Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in a 'few seasons', and Ronaldo is only the latest big name to urge the Brazilian to quit Liverpool:

* May 2015: Ronaldinho told the Daily Mail: "I know what Barcelona look for and he [Coutinho] has those qualities. Barcelona and Coutinho would be the perfect fit".

* Aug 2015: When asked to name his favourite Premier League player, Luis Suarez enthused: "My favourite player at the moment in the Premier League is [Liverpool attacker] Philippe Coutinho".

* Sep 2015: Neymar told ESPN: "The one Brazilian I think could play here is Coutinho. He has the style of Barcelona."

* Sep 2015: David Luiz mused: "The best need to be playing with the best. If Liverpool don’t qualify for the CL, he [Coutinho] will be the most in demand player in Europe".

Jurgen Klopp should take heed of Luiz's prediction. The Reds may have held onto 'Amazing' Coutinho this year, but if Liverpool fail to qualify for the Champions League this season, demand for the Brazilian will inevitably be fierce next summer.

To what team is Coutinho most suited, though? In my view, he's better off at Barcelona, where he'd be a ready-made replacement for Andres Iniesta. Plus, Barcelona's team is filled with smaller, technically gifted players, whereas Madrid generally go for taller, more powerful attacking players.
