Transfer Stunner: Barcelona keen to sign 'quality' £60k-a-week Liverpool flop in January. Surprise?

Here's one for the books: much maligned ex-Red Glen Johnson is reportedly wanted by...Barcelona (!)

According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo today:

* With Aleix Vidal's future in the balance, Barcelona are looking for a right-back to share the position with Javier Mascherano.

* Glen Johnson is a 'low cost Right-back option being considered by the Nou Camp club.

Glen Johnson at Barcelona? What next - Charlie Adam at Real Madrid? Jonjo Shelvey at Bayern Munich?

At the age of 32, it'll be a massive surprise to see Johnson end up at Barca, but defensive deficiencies aside, good luck to him if he manages to secure such an amazing transfer.

Johnson - reportedly on £60k-a-week - is currently out injured with a hamstring injury, and since he's been out, Stoke haven't lost a game, so he may struggled to win his place back once he returns to fitness.

I still can't believe that none of Liverpool managers under who Johnson played tried him out as a right-winger. Fans constantly called for Johnson to play further forward, and it would've been interesting to see how he fared in a more advanced role.

The same applies with Alberto Moreno. Like Johnson, Moreno is defensively poor at times, but often excels going forward.
