Two Months Out? Bad news for Klopp as 'amazing' £125k-a-week Liverpool star suffers potentially serious new injury

Liverpool's injury curse strikes again! Just one competitive game into his Liverpool career, and it looks like £34m signing Sadio Mane is set for a short spell on the sidelines.

According to ESPN today:

"Liverpool forward Sadio Mane was taken to hospital for scans on his shoulder, a club source has told ESPN FC. Mane injured his shoulder in training on Wednesday".

The Daily Mail adds:

"It is understood the winger may have dislocated his shoulder".

If it's a dislocation, the Mane probably faces an extended spell on the sidelines. As a comparison:

* 2012-2014: Fabio Borini suffered two separate shoulder injuries, and in both instances, the Italian was out for two months.

* 2013: Philippe Coutinho missed almost two months of the season with a shoulder injury.

* 2013: Joe Allen missed three months of the season after having surgery on a long-standing shoulder issue.

* 2016: Allen missed another month of the season with a recurrence of his shoulder injury.

Recent history shows that shoulder injuries = long lay off, so Reds fans should brace themselves for a similar outcome with Mane.

Mane has stayed relatively injury free for his entire career to date (only 6 games missed in the last five years), but five minutes after signing for Liverpool, he gets injured. Coincidence? Perhaps.

^ Reportedly on £125k-a-week. Hailed by Carra for his 'really amazing' performance against Barcelona.
