Transfer Update: After Liverpool offer, 'fantastic' €40m powerhouse confirms he wants to sign for a 'big club'

On Tuesday, ex-Red David Thompson urged Liverpool to sign 'fantastic' France international Moussa Sissoko, and amid reports that Liverpool have made an official offer, Sissoko has publicly confirmed that he is available, and determined to sign for a Premier League club.

When asked today about his future, Sissoko insisted he wants to 'go somewhere else and play 'some big games'. He further explained:

"I want to play in the Premier League, I want to play for a big club who can get into the Champions League. That's why I said I want to leave this year. It's time to look forward".

Real Madrid are currently linked with a move for Sissoko, but his comments are clearly not direct at the Spanish giants"

* Sissoko states that he wants to play 'for a big club who can get into the Champions League', and Madrid are already in the competition.

* He also specifically references the Premier League, and when it comes to 'big clubs' in the Prem who can get into the Champions League, the list is short: Man Utd, Chelsea, and Spurs.

* Liverpool are also a big club, but after failing to qualify for the Champions League in six of the last seven years seasons, it's debatable whether the Reds are capable of qualifying this season.

Hopefully, Sissoko has his heart set on a move to Utd, Chelsea, or Spurs, as he's not needed at Liverpool, especially for the ludicrous €40m fee reportedly demanded by Rafa Benitez.

It's inevitable that Sissoko will leave Newcastle before the end of the transfer window, and if he stays in the Prem, where is he likely to land?

* After signing Paul Pogba, it's unlikely to be Man Utd, and Jose Mourinho has already confirmed his transfer business is done for the summer.

* Spurs have Dier, Alli, Dembele, and Wanyama in the their squad, so the chance of a move to White Hart Lane seems slim.

* Chelsea have N'Golo Kante, Matic, Loftus-Cheek, and Fabregas in their squad, and the links to Stamford Bridge have died down after the signing of Kante.

That leaves Liverpool *shudder*
