Anfield Breakthrough: After transfer contact, Liverpool now free to sign 'unbelievable' £10m sensation

Last month, multiple reports claimed that Liverpool are 'confident' of signing Leicester defender Ben Chilwell (who allegedly wants a move to Anfield), and new reports today suggest that the Foxes have given Liverpool the green light to seal the deal.

Liverpool's full-back positions remain eminently upgradeable, and according to multiple reports this week.

"Jurgen Klopp wants Chilwell to challenge for the left-back role at Anfield [and] Liverpool have been told [by Leicester] they will have to pay £10m".

Some info about Chilwell:

* Left-back. Graduated from Leicester's academy. Current contract expires: 2016.

* 3 senior appearances for Leicester City (in domestic cup competitions). No league appearances.

* 2015: Won Leicester's 'Academy Player of the Year' award.

* Jan 2016: Claudio Ranieri raved: "He [Chilwell] was fantastic [Against Spurs]. If you think our left flank was 18 and 19, it was unbelievable".

I remain unenthused at the prospect of Alberto Moreno being replaced by a 19-year old with only 3 senior appearances to his name, but considering the fact Man United paid £28m for Luke Shaw, £10m is a comparatively fair price for an overhyped Brit.

Is Chilwell an upgrade on Moreno? I don't see how that's possible. Moreno has defensive issues, but even with his recklessness, and positional indiscipline, he is still light years ahead of Chilwell.
