Aldo: Klopp should replace Liverpool misfit with someone like 'top-class' €16m Brazil star. Agree?

After his horror show against Sevilla, Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno continues to be dragged over the coals, and Reds legend John Aldridge is the latest high profile name to publicly call on Jurgen Klopp to replace the error-prone Spaniard this summer.

In his column for the Liverpool Echo today, Aldo slammed Moreno for getting 'worse' defensively over the season, and insisted that Liverpool must sign an experienced 'top-class' replacement:

"Time to find a new left back. With his [Moreno's] ball-watching, not being in the right place at the right time...he has made some real mistakes. We need a top left back...someone with the quality of Felipe Luis^, for example".

It's been obvious for months that Moreno needs to be replaced. His reckless tackling, woeful positional play, and concentration lapses have cost Liverpool this season, and the Europa League final served as a negative microcosm of his entire season.

Unfortunately, it appears that Klopp - like Rodgers - is more interested in signing overprice Brits, and right now, Liverpool are reportedly considering 18-year old Ben Chilwell as a potential replacement for Moreno.

This fits perfectly with Klopp's transfer MO. At Dortmund, for example, Klopp brought teenage left-back Marcel Schmelzer into the team, and he's remained the club's first-choice left-back ever since.

Aldo's reasoning is sound, though: An experienced left-back is a much more enticing option, and with any luck, Klopp will come to his senses and sign a player who - unlike Chilwell - has more than three senior appearances to his name.
