Anfield MegaDeal: Liverpool plan huge offer for 'exceptional' striker. Record €60m bid made already

In January, Liverpool reportedly made a mammoth €60m bd for Juventus star Alvaro Morata, and new reports suggest that Jurgen Klopp is planning another huge offer for the Spanish striker in the summer.

During the January transfer window, Sky Sports claimed:

"Juventus have turned down a €60m offer from Liverpool for Alvaro Morata".

According to Italian newspaper Tutto Sport today:

* Liverpool are preparing a massive summer bid for the Morata, and Jurgen Klopp sees the Spaniard as a replacement for Christian Benteke.

* Morata will only move to Anfield if Liverpool make it into the Champions League next season.

Liverpool have been linked with Morata several times in the past:

Jun 2013: Brendan Rodgers reportedly wanted Morata as a makeweight in a proposed Luis Suarez move to Real Madrid.

Jan 2014: Liverpool allegedly put in a 'concrete offer' for Morata.

Feb 2015: The Mirror claimed that Liverpool were planning a summer bid for Morata.

Some info about Morata, whose football idol is Madrid legend Raul:

* Juventus Total: 25 goals/15 assists (50) in 86 apps (Goal every 179 mins. G/A every 89 mins)

* This Season: 19 goals/assists in 40 apps (One every 113 mins)

* According to Jamie Carragher: "Morata is one of the hottest young strikers in Europe. It would be intriguing to see Morata [in the Premier League].

* Thiago Alcantara's assessment: “Morata is an exceptional player and he’s really given us a lot. He’s a great No 9".

Morata's record of one goal every 179 minutes is not that impressive, but with assists included, he contributes to a goal at least once every 89 minutes, which is an encouraging ratio, especially in Serie A. Juve director Giuseppe Marotta insists Morata is staying, though, and in a recent interview, he told Marca:

"We have no interest in dealing with Real Madrid or any other club. We've never considered selling Morata. He's part of the backbone of this team [and] we're keeping hold of players like him."

Even if Morata is available, Liverpool have little chance of qualifying for the Champions League this season, so there's no chance of a deal anyway.
