Anfield Update: 'Fantastic' £120k-a-week Liverpool star returns for Man Utd clash. Surprise start?

In-form midfielder James Milner missed Liverpool's 2-0 victory over Manchester United last week, but after recovering from illness, Milner is set to go straight back into the squad for Thursday's trip to Old Trafford.

According to the Liverpool Echo:

"James Milner^ will return to the Liverpool squad for [Thursday's] clash with Manchester United. Milner has been back in training at Melwood this week and will be hoping to earn a recall".

Milner - who has seven goals/assists in his last ten games - is in the midst of his best period of creative form this season, but will that be enough for Klopp to change the team that comfortably dispatched United last week?

Team that started the 2-0 victory:

* Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Can, Henderson, Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino, Sturridge

Unless there's a new injury issue somewhere, I can't see any justification for changing a winning team.

Obviously, given the choice, I'd swap Can for Milner, but the German is an obvious Klopp favourite, so that 'aint happening.

Milner - hailed as 'fantastic' by Adam Lallana - will probably have to make do with a place on the bench.

^ Reportedly on £120k-a-week
