'He's back': Klopp hints at Sunderland return for 'amazing' Liverpool attacker; confirms 'scan' needed for Origi

With Divock Origi now on the sick-list, Liverpool are in the midst of yet another injury crisis, but as one door closes, another door opens, and Reds attacker Jordon Ibe is on the verge of a first-team return.

Ibe missed the Leicester game as a result of a mystery 'illness', but during his pre-Leicester press conference on Monday, Klopp told reporters:

"Jordon Ibe is back in training. Yesterday he was sick and very weak. Now we have to wait and see how he reacts".

Klopp also provided the following injury updates:

On Origi: “We haven't had the scan results yet. If there is no miracle or something like this then he is not available for the next game, so we have to find a solution".

On Milner: “Milner will start pitch sessions, not with the team but outside tomorrow. Then he needs a week and should be available.”

Even with Origi out, Ibe - prematurely labelled 'amazing' by Thierry Henry - may find it tough to get back into the starting lineup, especially if Klopp sticks with a 442. Benteke will return to the starting XI, and Firmino will probably continue alongside him:

--------------- Mignolet
Clyne ---- Lovren --- Sakho -- Moreno
Lallana --- Hendo -- Can --- Coutinho
---------- Firmino - Benteke

I'd gladly see Ibe replace the consistently ineffective Lallana in this lineup, though.

Milner may also have problem getting back in the team; Hendo/Can is probably Klopp's preferred midfield partnership, but if it was down to me, I'd have Lucas or Milner ahead of Can in midfield:

--------------- Mignolet
Clyne ---- Lovren --- Sakho -- Moreno
Ibe ------- Hendo -- Lucas -- Coutinho
---------- Firmino - Benteke
