With Danny Ings out for the season, Daniel Sturridge perpetually injured, and Christian Benteke/Divock Origi failing to achieve consistency, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly in the market for another striker.
According to The Telegraph:
* Liverpool are currently monitoring FC Basel striker Breel Embolo.
* The 18-year old striker is also being watched by Arsenal, Everton, and Manchester United.
Some info about Embolo
* 26 goals/17 assists (43) in 73 games for FC Basel (One every 108 minutes)
* This season: 12 goals/assists in 23 apps (One every 157 minutes)
* Jun 2014: Named the Swiss Super League's Best Young Player.
* Jun 2015: Sky Sports Italia journalist Gianluca DiMarzio claimed: "Basel want €20m for Embolo, but Juve only offered €15m. Negotiations are on going".
* Jan 2015: Admitted that his favourite team is Barcelona, and that he'd like to play in the 'Premier League' at some point in his career.
* Basel star Fabien Frei's assessment: "He [Embolo] is a sensation, but his feet will stay on the ground. You can give him good advice and he is ready to take it".
Embolo's goals/assists record is impressive for an 18-year old, but vven if Klopp is in the market for a new striker, it seems unlikely that he'll turn to an 18-year old to deputise for Sturridge (and/or provide cover for Benteke), especially for €20m.
