Line-up vs. Arsenal: LFC new boy starts! Sterling retains his place...

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has named Nuri Sahin in his starting XI for today's must-win game against Arsenal at Anfield.

It will be great to see Sahin in action, but what's going on with Assaidi? He's not even in the squad. Again. Having said that, we get Sterling instead, so that's great too.

Jose Enrique and Daniel Agger also return to the starting line up, which should reintroduce much needed balance and stability to the defence.

FULL LINE UP

Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Sahin, Allen, Gerrard, Sterling, Suarez, Borini

SUBS: Jones, Carra, Downing, Henderson, Shelvey, Coates, Kelly

PROBABLE FORMATION

Reina

Johnson ---- Skrtel ------ Agger ----- Enrique

Gerrard --------- Allen -------- Sahin

Suarez ---------- Borini ------- Sterling

Borini down the middle instead of Suarez brings the most balance to the attack IMO.

  1. That is 3 first goals for the other team in 3 league games via counter attacks from misplaced Gerrard passes.

  2. He needs to have enough soldiers before he assess them.

  3. All is not lost this season. We still have chance to pick up points. Suarez is never the man to lead the line for LFC in EPL and never will be, he just doesn't have it in him. Why not let Adam Morgan or even Suso try out at the center forward position and let Suarez flank out wide? His trickery is going to be very useful. Seems like it's time for some of the old guards to move on. Unfortunately we do not have the resources to replace them at the moment.

Anyway, this is a season to groom youngsters and get them ready in a season or two, AM, JS, RS and SC at the back. Remember this is a season of rebuilding, not achieving. I'm still 100% behind LFC and BR.

  4. They put in an option to bring back carok in 6 months, why would they do that if they were really planning a replacement?
And BR said the owners have always been straight with him? mmm

  7. I don't think a club can call back a loan player is the other club paid a loan fee for him.

  8. He is not loaned to anyone yet.

  9. What RedHeart said and also City received plenty of loan offers for him but rejected them, as they want him to stay at the club this season. Maybe Aguero's injury played a hand in it as well as Balo's absence. I don't even think Guidetti is match fit yet, as he had some long term viral infection. But who knows in football, he could still get moved on in Jan on loan. He is a talent.

  11. I don't deny that. What I'm saying is, BR seems to want to play 4-3-3 with a team crammed with ball-playing midgets. How would a 'proper' target man like Drogba fit into this?
