LUIS SUAREZ explains why he was angry after being subbed vs. Wolves...

Luis Suarez was visibly upset after being substituted in Liverpool's recent victory over Wolves, and as soon as the final whistle went, he sped off down the tunnel as quickly as possible. Players get subbed off all the time, and there's absolutely no shame in being replaced by Steven Gerrard, so why was Suarez particularly upset?

In a recent interview for a Uruguayan newspaper, Suarez explained:

“A few days later the manager asked me why had I gotten angry and I explained to him that I’m never pleased with being subbed off. That I always want to play.

"He understood but told me we had played several matches in a row and, since I almost didn’t have vacations, he had done it to look after me.

"I understood that as well and then I apologized.”

  1. Fair enough

Hopefully he remains happy with us for a while. The signing of Coates and the potential agreement with Nacional in the future could help

  2. Remember when Rafa did the same to Torres for the same reason ...Rafa was crucified and labelled useless for subbing him

  3. if you cannot see the difference between those two cases, then you must be an idiot or blindly Rafa's supporter....

  4. Enlighten me because as far as i remember one of the explanations was to stop him from getting injuries

  10. Kenny has spent money but we are playing awful football.  Under Rafa we had hope.  Yes, he had a poor final season but that was due to several injuries and no investment.  Carroll is awful! No pace in the side!

  12. fuck keepin people happy. We're LFC. If Suarez wants to go and is a disruption then sell him. We want players who want to wear the famous red shirt!

  13. Yes, Rafa was a great tactician but that even took Rafa a few years to find the right combo; it's not even one full year for Dalglish!

  15. Suarez has every right to be angry, especially when the donkey (Carroll) and the mule (Henderson) remain on the playing field.

  16. If CArroll or Henderson get injured close ot the end of the season when we're locked in a tight battle for Championship places, it won't be nearly as bad as it would be if Suarez got injured (thanks to exhaustion and being played too much) and we missed him for the end-of-the-season run.

Why don't you try giving King Kenny a little credit for looking a bit further ahead than you're obviously capable of?

  17. ....that's supposed to be 'tight battle for Champion's League spots'
    Not 'Championship' places obviously.

  18. So, you're in full agreement that the donkey and the mule could serve as sacrificial lambs.

  19. about rafa and king kenny situation i have to agree that rafa is tactically better and has better judgement about a player he wants to sin but you also have to agree with me that when king kenny take over the spirit of the club is lifted. both fans and players. of course our player during rafa time is better and clever with the likes of alonso, arbeloa, torres, riera and benayoun maybe but kenny knows how to get the best out of players. look at kelly, flano and robbo. so trust him. and our player is still new together. so when the chemistry creeps in we can easily beat that united scum
