Liverpool vs. Burnely: Premier League - Confirmed Teams

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has stuck the knife into the concept of consistent team selection yet again by making seven changes for today's Premier League clash with Burnley.

FULL TEAM: Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Klavan, Robertson, Milner, Can, Coutinho, Salah, Firmino, Sturridge.

SUBS: Karius, Wijnaldum, Lovren, Henderson, Moreno, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Solanke.

The big news is that Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been dropped to the bench. Explaining the changes, Klopp insisted:

"It was about the intensity of the games and the quality of the squad. There’s no doubt that the line-up we found today is a very strong one. It’s a good situation. I told the boys already, this is a wonderful line-up but we shouldn’t rely on this.

"It’s all about finding the right attitude. I know the boys are ready to work but we also need to be ready not to get frustrated if different situations don’t come through, and not lose confidence because this or that doesn’t work. We need to enjoy the job, because that’s what Burnley are doing.”

Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge come into the team, and attack-wise, Liverpool should have enough quality to compensate for the loss of Sadio Mane. Klavan and Matip at centre-back, though? It doesn't inspire confidence...
