Deal Close: Liverpool in advanced talks to sign 'excellent' €20m striker; Agent flying in for meeting

Liverpool arguably need at least one new striker this summer, and new reports today suggest that Jurgen Klopp is close to sealing a deal for one of Europe's top goalscorers.

In December, Corriere Dello Sport claimed that Liverpool were tracking Polish striker Lukasz Teodorczyk, and according to a report on Polish TV Channel Polsat Sports this week:

"Lukasz Teodorczyk is one of Jurgen Klopp's top transfer targets. Talks are already well advanced, and Teodorczyk's agent will soon fly in for a meeting with Liverpool".

Some info about €20m-rated Teodorczyk:

* 25-year old striker, who's surrently on loan at Anderlecht from Dynamo Kiev.

* This Season: 33 goals/assists in 49 apps (One every 111 mins).

* Career Total: 109 goals/assists in 181 apps (One every 101 mins).

* Poland: 4 goals in 22 games.

* Injury History: 36 games missed in the last 7 years. Injuries in 2011, 2014, and 2015 (2x broken legs; 1x ankle ligament damage).

* Aug 2016: On why he left Dynamo: "I wanted to play more. My status Dynamo did not satisfy me. Now I play freely".

* Oct 2016: After Poland's 2-1 victory over Armenia, Lewandowski raved: "Luke found himself in a good position several times. It was not our day, but Luke worked hard, and did an excellent job".

Teodorczyk's stats are good this season, but he's currently in the midst of a slump, and with only one goal in the last eleven games, his season appears to ending with a whimper.

That said, Teodorczyk appears to be an archetypal Klopp signing: big, strong, off the radar, and comparatively cheap. Plus, Klopp has a history of unearthing promising Polish players and turning them into world beaters.

Klopp's new Lewandowski?
