'Medical' Passed: Madrid desperate to sell 'excellent' €30m sensation to Liverpool; offer made already

Atletico Madrid have reportedly contacted Liverpool to try and push through a deal for one of La Liga's most promising defenders.

Over the weekend, Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claimed:

"Theo Hernandez has received offers from Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barca, PSG and Liverpool"

Spanish newspaper AS now insists that 'excellent' Hernandez (currently on loan at Alaves) has agreed to sign for Real in a €30m deal (the story is front page news), and Marca further claims:

* Hernandez has passed a medical at Real Madrid, but Atletico are desperate for that not to happen.

* Atletico have consequently offered Hernandez to Liverpool in a bid to prevent the sale.

When asked about the proposed transfer to Real Madrid, Alaves President Josean Querejeta admitted that he is 'surprised' at the news:

"We just learned via the media that he had done a medical. We are a small club, but we must still be respected and told when a player does a medical with another club."

Ex-Atletico forward Paulo Futre also expressed surprise at the proposed deal:

"I am surprised Madrid would...break their good relationship [with Atletico]. They could go for any left-back in the world, so why go for a kid from Atleti?".

Hernandez's agent recently confirmed that the young defender wants to 'stay in Spain', so at this stage, he's unlikely to reject a move to Madrid - arguably the biggest club in the world - to sign for the Reds.

You never know, though. Perhaps there's some transfer drama ahead...
