Deal Close? Liverpool ready to agree £16m deal for 'fantastic' attacker; 'talks' already confirmed for 'the summer'

Last month, Lazar Markovic confirmed that he'll hold talks with Liverpool this summer over his future, but it appears that the Reds have already decided that the Serb has no future at Anfield.

Speaking to Sky Sports in March, Markovic noted:

"I am still a Liverpool player. We will have talks in the summer and see how it goes from there".

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are willing to sell Markovic for '£16m', and West Ham are 'interested in signing' him.

It'll be a miracle if Liverpool get £6m for Markovic, let alone £16m.

Just like at Liverpool, Fenerbahce, and Sporting Lisbon, Markovic has utterly failed to make any consistent impact at Hull, and his end product over the last three years is not impressive enough to attract a big transfer fee.

Despite his underwehelming form, Markovic appears to retain a measure of favour amongst Liverpool fans. I recently conducted a poll asking fans if Klopp should've kept Markovic this season, and 54% of participants voted YES.

Right now, Markovic looks like a massive transfer flop, but - being charitable - he is still only 22, and there's still a possibility that he can develop into a decent player.

It just won't be at Liverpool.

^ Hailed as 'fantastic' by Jordan Henderson last season.
